was it really the staff ? lets see what happens when stewart and company leave chapel hill. now kilgore has been a successful steady program for years regardless of the talent.

I've been living in Kilgore for 20 years now and have missed maybe 5 or 6 games total. In the last 20 years, Kilgore has missed the playoffs one time. We are not Longview or Carthage, but it's somewhat remarkable how good a team Kilgore can roll out there year after year after year.

Kilgore would have faired so much better. I just can’t understand how Chill looks like this.

    NO NOT REALLY.

Who knows. I don't think Kilgore would have done any better on the ground than CH did.... but I think we could've had some success in the passing game. Defensively, CHill wasn't bad.... penalties and field position just buried them.

  3. I am by no means a Gilmer fan, about as far from it as you can get. But I have been pulling for them this season because nearly everyone in East Texas was throwing them under the bus in September, including most of their own Smoaky fans. "Worst defense we've had since the 90's" I remember reading on here... and "we'll make the playoffs and probably get knocked out in the 2nd round". It was nice to see the Gilmer staff and players prove all the haters wrong by knocking off #1 in the quarterfinals and then for the ultimate irony.... they held the #1 scoring offense in the state to 32 points below their season scoring average in the title game. Helluva coaching job by Metzel and #1 is a bad, bad dude.

Anyone know much from Anna now we know the location lol! I like to know what i going too see. Chill has the offense capable of scoring.

I watched some film on them a few weeks ago, they are very good.... and I figured they would be playing in this game. Their QB (Ziondre Williams) is a soph dual threat and he is legit.... dude has ice water running through his veins. They throw the ball a lot with several stud receivers, but the favorite target is #2 Sean Steens. Defensively, they are solid and quick.... LB #35 CJ Miller is a tackling machine.

I will say it our Offensive Coordinator is not a true coordinator he is skating by with the athletes making him look better than what he actually is. Coach Fuller's hands are tied with his coordinators he has with Coach Woods still the AD. If Coach Fuller can hang in with being just the football coach a little bit longer Woods should be moving out of the AD spot in probably 2 more years.

I tried to just let this post go, but it's so moronic I just couldn't. Here's why...

The top 4 best passing seasons in the history of Kilgore football have all come in the last 4 years... with 3 different QB's.

Of all the great RB's Kilgore has had through the years, 2 of the top 3 single-season rushing leaders of all time have come in the last 3 years. So basically, the most balanced and prolific offenses Kilgore has ever had.... statistically speaking, have come under this OC.

Play calling did not lose this game for Kilgore, Chapel Hill just whipped us physically on both sides of the ball. They just seemed to want it more than we did.
