  1. Ok a buddy and I really want to come to this game, but unfortunately we live in the df dub and im almost positive tickemaster isnt selling tickets for this game lol. Can anybody give me some pointers/ideas on how we can get tickets??? I'm sure it will impossible to get a ticket at the gate.

  2. I started out conservatively/optimistically/hopeful calling for a 42-28 game with potential to get worse in Gilmer's favor.

Well if there was a line in HS football games...move this one waaaay further in Gilmer's favor.

Hearing some bad news for this week and beyond.

    Gilmer 49

    Liberty 14

    What happened

  3. Warning: Long Post

-Liberty has two players on roster with D1 offers. One of their senior safeties, Grant Sawyer, is committed to Tulsa as an OLB. They also have a junior DE that has offers from Baylor and Oklahoma State as of now. He played his first football game against Melissa in game 1. He's all projection right now but did wreak havoc against Celina.

-They do have another senior safety that's a D1 athlete...but is committed to Auburn for baseball...not football.

-They have quality players elsewhere but not sure where the "4 D1 players" is coming from.

-This is a much improved team...especially defensively. They have a solid front 7 and the two senior safeties are very good. They also have a sophomore CB that looks like he will be a top notch DB one day.

-The OL is also vastly improved...but unfortunately banged up already. They lost their starting C (220 pound soph) and RG (285 pound senior) for the year during pre season. They moved another senior (6'3" 280) from his original starting spot to center and he got hurt against Melissa. Came back against Celina but has a scary injury history. Against Celina they lost their starting RT for what will probably be a month or so. Their LT (6'5" 260 Soph) and LG (6'1" 250 JR) have managed to stay healthy and have looked pretty good. The big senior center is a great OL when healthy. At RG and RT they are now having to play a senior that hasn't played football since Middle School and a JV callup.

-They are without their #1 WR until District play begins. He hasn't played this year and missed the first three games last year as well with a different injury. He had 4-5 100 yard games in the 7 he played last year.

-They do have some serious talent but a lot of skill guys have to play both ways some of the game. That will really hurt against a team like Gilmer that goes at such a fast pace.

-The RB is the best offensive player...and he came out of game twice against Celina with an injury. Not sure of his status. He's an explosive runner with very good speed.

-The QB situation is what has kept the offense from being productive thus far. They are playing two juniors equal time and neither has played well yet. Neither are runners and both have looked very average. This is especially hard to watch with last year's starting QB dominating for Argyle right down the road. He had to carry the team last year and unfortunately left without getting to play with this much more complete team.

The depth issue, injuries along OL and mostly the QB problem look like they'll be too much to overcome against Gilmer. Liberty physically dominated Celina's OL which took away the power run game that is Celina's staple offense. Against Gilmer, the pace of the offense and how quickly the ball is out could completely negate the DL. Combine that with several of the LBs and DBs having to play offense as well and I feel like Gilmer will get to 42. I don't see any way Liberty can put up that many points offensively with the QBs playing the way they have been.

    Prediction: Gilmer 42 Liberty 28

Gilmer could blow it wide open if Liberty sustains anymore injuries to what is already a paper thin Warrior squad.

    Great post

  4. Gonna be a good ole ball game folks. Liberty Christian is way different than last year's team and they have 4 d1 players. They shocked Celina last week and rumor has it the score should have been a lot worse. I'm leaning Gilmer wins in a low scoring game, but would not be surprised if Liberty wins.

    Gilmer 21

    Liberty 17

  5.

Well heck, Red......don't blow my hype for next week's game for heaven sakes, LOL. I gotta keep everybody wondering about the Argyllians......I guess Celina is in for a double dose back to back, hahaha.

Argyle can name there score against Celina lol. It will be ugly fast unless Argyle forgets how to play football...

  6. How y'all doin' over here? Having a hard time swallowing on Argyle, Huh? Well....last year they had a pretty darn good team with a hurt qb, but still managed to go undefeated until they met a very mature Wylie team in the playoffs. BTW>>>Wylie played a much better game against Argyle than they did against Carthage. They came out pretty tough against Carthage, but made some bad mistakes too. This year we'll see what happens.......apparently there are lots of very quality teams in 4A-D1. Stephenville is back.....so is Brownwood. Waco LV, Cuero, PG, and who knows what other team like Midlothian Heritage might emerge? Kennedale is always good, and then there's always Argyle to worry about. Carthage and Argyle don't ever have to worry about each other until State because one or the other will either lose to somebody else or they will both keep winning and finally say Hello again at State. BTW>>>LE ain't dead yet......they could come on and have a run at this thing too. Then there's injuries that could happen......don't forget about that. Argyle has 4 capable qb's......4 rb's......10 recievers......they are very very deep with athletes this year. Not as big on the D-line as in past years.......but much quicker and EVERYBODY is running hard to the ball this year. I did not see much difference between the starters and 2nd teamers......so far. We'll see what happens in the coming weeks against Celina and Wylie. I hear Celina has reverted back to their "old style" of play......running and grinding and playing tough defense. Liberty Christian barely got by them, but actually Celina should have won that game. I would not sneeze on Celina this year come playoff time......just sayin'. What else do you want to know? It's football season in Texas.....expect the unexpected and be happy you live in Texas.

Celina should NOT have won lol. Liberty Christian should have scored at least two more touchdowns, but fumbled the ball twice. Liberty Christians dline destroyed Celinas oline all night.

  7. Why is Celina ranked in the top 10 like every pre-season?

    Kilgore would destroy Celina.

Princeton could and should have beat them last week and Liberty Christian this week has a great chance of winning. Liberty Christian has 4 d1 players...

  8. cant find lovejoy in any polls. after reading this i thought the score was 100-0. what grade you in redred? think i'm wasting my time.

What are you talking about? The announcer said at the game Lovejoy was ranked number 8 in 5a. I'm only going off what he said. As for Argyle they may not have been able to score 100 on Lovejoy, but they could have scored 60 easily had they not took out the starters in the 2nd half and ran the ball the entire time. Not sure why your throwing out insults at me?

  9. Princeton beat themselves more than Celina beat 'em.

Some big passes that ended in no points........

Couldn't really run the ball against Celina and slow. (They weren't BIG but they were slow).

Refs helped Celina score a TD. Princeton threw a pic 6 near the end part of the game. That's 2 Celina TDs right there.

Princeton got close enough that the team should have scored 3 (yes three) more TDs but that is where they beat themselves a lot.

So one of those times the kicker barely managed the FG.

And I'll just say this for that bad FG and the other 2 times where the FG was missed and another where he did not get a chance to kick it........It was not the kickers fault.

Celina has got to get a new stadium.

    +1

  10. I've seen Argyle play a bunch and this team is by far the best they have ever had. They are loaded everywhere. I went and watched them Saturday against lovejoy and they destroyed them. I'm gonna go watch Carthage play Gilmer in a few weeks and I can give a comparison. Honestly though I don't see how any 4a teasm is gonna beat them. I know Caethage is really good and a juggernaut, but this Argyle team is on a different level. Oline is huge and makes gigantic holes, qb is deadly accurate, receivers run great routes, running back is hard to bring down. Defense is hard hitting and always in the right place.

Oh yeah Argyle could have put up 60 points on Lovejoy, but they called the dogs off after halftime. Just a complete dismantling of a top 10 5a team.

  11.

Prosper does not have 3,000, yet. They were at 2515 this past October and probably at 2600 at the end of the school year. I would guess them to be closing on 2,800 at the next snapshot.

Ok I guess since my buddy is the Prosper Isd Police Chief he has no clue what he is talking about huh?

  12. TEA says a little over 2500.

A friend of mine is the police chief for Prosper Isd and he said with the move-ins this summer they are over 3,000.

A friend of mine is the police chief for Prosper Isd and he said with the move-ins this summer they are over 3,000.

I mean either way who cares they have grown a ton lol...

  13. I'm not sure that there is a school in the state that has seen the growth that Prosper has. Had 1600-1700 students not long ago. Had 2100 in 2015. Now they have 2500+ in 2017. Not only are they 6A locks for next realignment, they could be 6A D1 eligible depending on who ends up in their district. That's crazy.

Prosper has over 3,000 in the high school
