The pounding that should be prepared for is that of #25, one of Gladewater's RBs. Celina better tighten them chin straps, it's fixin to get real.

The Gladewater offense likes nothing better than to grind out long, clock draining drives that keep the opposing defense on the field. The Bobcats DLine better get extra rest this week cause it could be a very long game for them.

Gilmer was able to get by Gladewater earlier in the year, but that means nothing at this point in the season.

I hear what your saying and you maybe correct who knows? However the defense Celina runs is made to stop this type of offense. GW is playing right into Celina's hands here. I just dont see a team that is not fairly balanced beating Celina, not saying it cant happen.

  2. I sure hope Gilmer players aren't reading this. This Gilmer team is ripe for an upset. Gilmer may be favored by 4 TDs on paper, but they consistently have played their way into close games. That trend will come back to bite them.

I was thinking the same thing. That would be the reason i posted such ignorance. Im not saying Melissa is gonna win but Melissa is much better than these people are giving them credit for. Melissa should seriously be 9-2 if not 10-1. The only game Melissa got beat bad in was Celina. Qb being injured really screwed them up against Aubrey and it was 14 to 12 against Princeton before the wheels fell off in the 4th qt with 7 minutes left because of some young player mistakes. I dont think Melissa has peeked just yet this year. Will they this week who knows, but a lot of people dont respect Melissa.

  3. What does Celina's defensive line look like? Linebackers? Because we know Gladewater gonna pound Tha rock, are they large enough or tough enough to withstand that all night? Have they faced anything resembling this this year? Because this could turn into a good old fashioned Nebraska /ou type game if Celina can't throw on gwater. Jmho

Dline is small, linebackers are good.

  4. If Celina's line really is as big as listed in previous post, they are considerably larger than Carthage. We have one lineman in the 275 range. Everyone else is 225-250 range.

They are that big. Ive seriously never seen an oline bigger then this one in high school.

  5. He got his arm broke. Part of what we call football. Whining is for those that are demonstrating cause their feeling are hurt. #### it up it will be OK.

Im not whining but any team loses there qb in the state championship game your chances of winning are very low. Who cares that qas last year anyways.

  6. Did the QB play defense? WOS ran all over Celina's defense.

They scored 21 points. If they ran all over them they didnt get into the end zone much.

No. Could not have beat WOS with him in the game. Good excuse though.

How can you know that? In less you omniscient i dont think you can answer that.

  7. Celina has lost two games this year early, but they are not the same team that lost those two games i promise you they have figured something out. Celina doesnt need to throw a single pass if they dont want to. The offensive line is so big and strong they seem to beat the defense into submission. When you see them in person you will think your playing a d1 college oline im not kidding. Runningbacks and qb are fast. Defensively they are undersized a good offensive line can cause problems for the defense. They are quick and tackle good, but if you have a good oline that can pound the ball Celina might be in trouble.

    How is your defense?

Looks like your offense is pretty good, but the D is lacking. That is pretty much Gilmer this year. If Gilmer does not have any turnovers, we can simply outscore Melissa. If we have turnovers and penalties like we have had for the past two seasons, Melissa has a dang good shot and probably beats us.

Defense is hit and miss. Hard hitting but young and prone to giving up big plays from time to time. The defense has gotten better as the year has gone. Against Celina the defense ran out of gas because Celina's 300lb + oline was banging on them. Melissa is up and coming, im putting everybody on notice Melissa will be the next Argyle and next year you will see what im talking about.
  9. Melissa is a very young team that is made up of mostly under classmen. Melissa tends to get complicit at times because of their youth only starting 5 seniors and out of those 5 only 1 started last year. They are starting two freshmen on offense and defense with 2 or 3 sophmores and then the rest juniors. In Melissas loss to Prinecton they lost in the last 7 min of the game when a turnover snow balled on them. Then it was 10-7 at the half against Celina. In the 2nd half Celina made some adjustments on defense and Melissas young team had a hard time. Not to meantion Melissas qb got injured in the game but played through it. Even though the score looked bad the game was closer than it appeared. Against Aubrey Melissas qb was still playing hurt which caused the offense to struggle only scoring 21 points. There is no doubt Melissa had more atheletes and could have won the game if the qb was 100.%. So in saying that it is what it is and here we are. The Cardinals are physical but small and they play very hard. Gilmer is the favorite and rightfully so but this is not the same Melissa team that Gilmer beat up on the last few years. If Melissa comes out and plays a good game and Gilmer makes some errors Melissa can win this game. However that is a monumental task for the Cardinals. The Cardinals went from 1-9 last year to 8-3 and should be honestly 9-2 if not 10-1 in the 2nd round of the playoffs this year not a bad turn around. It will be fun to watch the Buckeyes again as yall are great program with class.
