Liberty Hill beat a very good Dawg team that did not play as well as they could have. Liberty Hill was the better team when they had to be.

Great win and congrats. Enjoy it while you can, next week you have another giant to slay.

Nothing against Liberty Hill, but without a passing attack and a good one. I cant see you beating La Vega with the speed they have.

Several said the same thing regarding LH not beating Carthage without a passing attack.  I would certainly give the edge to LV, but LH has the ability to pull it off.

Also, Liberty Hill "did not play as well as they could have" either.  If they had, they'd have won by 2-3 TDs.  Nothing against Carthage.

No it’s not, us dropping touchdown passes LH was clearly beaten on is not the same as “if we’d broken more long runs”. You didn’t break more long runs, because your boys were tackled. LH has nothing to do with us dropping sure touchdowns.

    Big difference

May not be the same to you, I suppose because you lost and because passing is such a part of Carthage's game.  It's the same to Liberty Hill because they won and breaking tackles and busting long runs is what they do.  It's the same thing whether you can see it or not, both end with the result of a TD.  No difference other than you didn't get the outcome you wanted.

“Forty and 0 is over-rated,” senior running back Kyle Harrison said after Liberty Hill outlasted Carthage 44-41 Friday night at Cy-Fair Stadium

All I am going to say is if Cathage had caught those passes, it would have been a different story.  I know that they didn't, and life is a should a, could a  would a, d and didn't kind a thing.

"If Carthage had caught those passed, it would have been a different story" is the same as Liberty Hill saying, "If we'd broken a few more long runs it would have been a blowout."  Each team did what they did and Liberty Hill did more of what they normally do, enough to win the game.  Carthage didn't.  The better team won.

  4. It was good for LH to be pushed to the limit by Carthage and to have beaten a team with Carthage's pedigree going into next week.  That will only help them facing LV.  My head says LV will take this one because they are absolute beasts, but I'll be pulling for LH.  LH has to cut down the penalties that really cost them tonight (yeah, people always say that).  LV has a lot of swagger and with good cause, but shouldn't enter this thinking it's in the bag.  LH is very scrappy and they don't quit.

Well if LH can't run on vega there going to have a problem becasue they don't pass much. If i was LH i would come up with a passing game on vega ....surprise

them...that's if they have any receivers to catch. They did have one good pass on the bulldogs tonight right down the middle that did well.

LH isn't going to "come up with a passing game" on anyone.  It's not what they do and there's no way they're going to change that especially this week.  Dance with the one that brung ya.

Its very evident that your understanding is below your on self worth  which is pretty low.  A school district is built by its feeder schools not its 7 thru 12 body which could be half the size of the lower schools!

Not sure what "on self worth" is?  Could you perhaps draw on those multiple college degrees you were bragging on and enlighten me?  It's obvious you don't have a clue regarding how the UIL classifies high schools.  All the UIL cares about when establishing districts and classification cutoffs is how many a school has in attendance for grades 9-12, that is it.  Do a little research, it takes about 30 seconds for anyone with a slight bit of intellect.

Horrible play call on the 4th and goal.  I think if we would have picked that up things might look a little different.  That deflated them.

Nothing would have changed the outcome of this game.  Region 3 just doesn't get it that they have been left behind for a number of years now.  Then they get to this game, talk a lot of smack (all in good fun I'm sure) thinking they're really good, and then "bam," they get the poo beat out of them by teams that really know what it's like to play top notch football.  I don't know how Region 3 turns the corner on this, but I'm ready to see it happen in the 2A ranks so we can see some games like the Carthage vs Liberty Hill game was tonight.

I am glad we’ve got them wearing white jerseys!

Their shell game frustrates me, because they’re not lining up and running at you they’re trying to trick you all the time on every play.

I know they’re playing within the rules of the game, but it’s just a little annoying.

I’ll get raked over the coals for this post, but it’s how I feel about their offense, it’s like a big scam.

    That's funny.

Word over there on that other site is they've been working on the passing game this week in practice. Maybe they are maybe not.  Could just be disinformation.

They're not.  They won't win based on passing.  Their QB does what he does well, but he can't pass with any consistency and doesn't have much of an arm.  Carthage will have good opportunities to make picks if LH tries to pass.

No sir am looking at the total student body not 7 thru 12. Shelbyville has over 880 kids and Garrison  800 plus  kids. Man just to say SA is in the same category with Martinsville and Broaddus tells the sad situation. Center has over 2700 kids K thru 12 which is 60 kids more than Carthage. SA the might Joe Young has falling to pee wee football ranks were the Huntington Red Devils moved along play 4 A football.hahaha

Just dawned on me what it is that is "24Deep."  I think everyone else knows too.

All that matters for UIL classification are the number of students in 9-12 as those are the kids that are available to participate.  No idea where you came up with the 7 thru 12?  Only an idiot (aka 24Deep) would count the total student body of the entire school district.  And SA isn't in the same category as Martinsville and Broaddus, the are 2AD1 and 2AD2, there is a difference duffus.  You may want to get a refund from the schools you say you have a degree from because you may have a piece of parchment, but you didn't get an education.

Both are very similar in style Both have D1 QB Hutto's Griffin is committed to UCLA, while Marshall's Green has 3 offers.

Hutto: Griffin 4051 yards 51 TD to 5 INT

    Rushing total 2114

    PPG 50.1

Marshall: Green 2499 yards 36 TD to 12 INT

    Rushing Total 2770

    PPG 33.7

Hutto also played one less game.

First, I'm picking Carthage in this one based on who they are and proven track record.  I haven't seen them this year.  I have seen Liberty Hill play 4 games and they are very good, but impossible to have a good read on how this one will go without having seen Carthage.

Thank you for breaking that down for the knucklehead who thought Marshall might be better (more athletic) than Hutto.  I was at the LH vs Hutto game.  LH lost in part because they went for the 2-point conversion in OT.  They have an excellent kicker and could have tied it to go to 2nd OT.  They were playing at Hutto, so good call on part of the LH coach to go ahead and try for the 2 pt.  They'd already accomplished what they went there for and no point in getting anyone hurt in a pre-district double OT game.  Also, the Hutto QB is legitimate along with some other extremely athletic team members.

9 in box asked the QB to throw at least 5 yards wins this game easily. SA should be a 3A school along with Shelbyville, Garrison, and Beckville with those huge school districts. When I was school Central Height was in our district for basketball in class A. Central Heights is now a 3A! I know CH school district isn't bigger than Garrison, Shelbyville and SA. Heck Brodaus and Martinsville are 2 A school hahaha

With all those degrees you brag about, one would think you'd be capable of checking a few numbers before making an ignorant post.  Central Heights - 350; Shelbyville - 219; San Augustine 211; Garrison - 201.  Broaddus and Martinsville at 2AD2, one level below the others.

You might be right about Mason scoring 35 Ride,  but SA gonna score 36. Sorry man just had to. Everyone done counted us out and that’s ok. We been counted out all year, but we still here

I'd be good with that if you are correct.  It would be good to see a Region 3 team take one, but I'm going to have to see it before I go with them, too many years of hearing how good they are to then see them manhandled in the semi-final game.  I live in NW Austin, but will be in Waco Thursday.  Having a tough time deciding whether I'm going to stick around for this game at 7:30 and then have to drive home that late or return home and catch Mart vs Falls City in Georgetown.  This will be the better game if San Augustine is as good as SAWolfman thinks they arenull
