I'm just getting around to watching some of this game on YouTube. Beckville does look timid and the QB discombobulated on the first possession. A real hot mess.

If Arkansas football was what I had to watch every week, I'd want to peak across the line to see some quality ball too.

Just imagine if Bussey was playing. This should give the team lots of confidence blowing a quality opponent without their stud. Safe to say, 2AD1 is Timpson’s for the taking if things hold together. Congrats Bears.
Correct. If Herring was watching he is concerned.

The truth that certain teams caught Carthage at the right time so their record head to head looks pretty good? What about the other years when they didn't play carthage? They hoist the hardware? I know 9 season for sure that Liberty Hill, China Spring, Argyle, or any other team didn't beat Carthage. And I know a lot of those seasons they were in the same classification, so the team that beat them, didn't beat Carthage either. Brag on that head to head all you want homie. Carthage will console themselves by looking at the trophy case.
There was no slight to Carthage. They've done great. Just pointing out that "they have their sweet spot and are better off staying with the smaller schools so they can be assured of some more titles." Don't know why that's hard to hear.
Caught them at the right time? Now that is funny. There was no "right time," it was simple outplay and out-team. It happens to even the best sometimes. Just accept it for what it is and be happy where they are as I'm sure LH, CS, and Argyle are happy where they are.

Man, that's tired.
The truth never gets tired, but some folks do get tired of hearing the truth.

It amazes me year after year Carthage is just loaded with great athletes. I assume they would run through 4A D1 as well. Could they make a run in 5A D2?
They don't want any of that 5AD2. SOC, Argyle, and that grand ole nemesis Liberty Hill Panthers would be sending them home with tails tucked once again..... They have their sweet spot and are better off staying with the smaller schools so they can be assured of some more titles.

For Liberty Hill there are at least a dozen that come to mind where the masses didn't give them credit or much of a chance. A few that jump out...
- 2018 semi-final win over Carthage, 44-41. Nobody gave Liberty Hill a second thought.
- 2007 State championship over Gilmer, 38-13. So much smack talk that week on Smokey from Gilmer fans and LH simply punched them in the mouth.

The heat is becoming unbelievable.
Ridiculous! Definitely not a "must." Full on entitlement mentality.

Haven't read the thread, but I'm pulling for Garrison to win the Region and take on Region 4. Hoping some new blood can break the curse.

Will Timpson break through like so many people in East Texas hope they will?
If Bussey has the game of his life, yes. If not, it's a perhaps.

Picture this. Its December 19th, 2025. Young Surratt leads Carthage to their 4th straight (his 3rd) and the 12th overall state championship to overtake Aledo with the most ever and shortly after the game, the elder Surratt announces retirement and goes down as the G.O.A.T in the high school ranks.
But Aledo may add more too.

Wimbo is SUPER SUPER physical
That’s extra SUPER. Wow!

Sitting next to some Wimberley fans before the Franklin game. They say word around town is most don’t think they have much a chance against Carthage because they (Wimberley) don’t run a gimmick offense.

Good to see Refugio get put in their place. Humble pie served on silver platter
Doesn’t matter. They’ll be back next year and many more times after that, unlike most of the haters. Makes it all the more sweeter.

Congratulations Hawley! State Champs!
So happy for them!…..and I was one of the 19 who picked them in the poll. Good to get back there and finish the job! Hats off to their team, town, and coaches (Coach Able’s 9th season) on their first championship!
Yeah, but you also picked Timpson to beat Refugio last week.

Refugio got away with a lot of defensive holding on the outside aganst Timpson on most of their long runs to the outside ... it was very obvious and shows up on the game film .... It was never called the entire game ....
Timpson, Timpson, Timpson……

This is pure genius, can't believe nobody has thought of this.
The same could be said of dozens of programs... let them play two classifications down and they could rack up plenty of championships.
