If you want to admit it or not it is a gimmick offense designed to help level the playing field against better more athletic teams that wins them alot of games but rarely the big one

He’s already admitted that about a month ago in another thread.

Don't recall admitting that.  I'd be interested to see that quote.  Might have a revisionist on our hands in @HearEmaGrowlin 🤥 ?  Regardless, gimmick or not as @bansheefan03 prefers to label, surely the great Surratt and 8-time champs could overcome a "gimmick offense."  Surely they couldn't fail the test twice against a "gimmick offense."

How could that compete with what Carthage puts on the field.🤪

I’ll spare everyone here on this thread, but want to remind you that I Owned you last time you brought that up. Nobody “owns” Carthage.

A delusional statement, but not unexpected.  I understand it's tough when you couldn't manage to defeat a team touted as inferior and also knowing you'll never get a chance at redemption.  Liberty Hill will forever be 2-0 vs Carthage.

It’s a delicate position we find ourselves in.

I don’t want folks to think we’re bad fans, arrogant and think more of ourselves than we are.

We also have to be objective and most of the time that means speaking well about the Dawgs.   🤷🏻‍♂️
We’ve seen a lot of good football and know what a championship caliber and capable team looks like.

Just one example:  If we state this is a dang good team and people start asking Carthage folks where this team ranks among the greatest Bulldog teams and we answer positively in favor of this team as on par with those teams that can start the “here we go again” negativity from other fans.

Just happy they don't have to play Liberty Hill or El Campo.  They own Carthage.

What was your thoughts on the late 4th down where Timpson came up short? I thought the D line shot the gap fast enough it forced Bus to make that cut a lot faster than he wanted to. I didn’t see it as a simple slip but as a good defensive play.

Yes, that could be.  My take from the Timpson v Refugio thread is below, posted the day after the game:

Regarding "The Slip," since many have pointed out Timpson perhaps wins without it.

The first down marker was just inside the 28 yd line.  Bussey slipped down at the 33 yd line.  The commentator from NFHS or Texan Live says, "Bussey had nothing but clear sailing in front of him," which wasn't the case.  Refugio had 3-4 defenders at the 29 directly in front of him.  We can speculate forevermore, but certainly a good chance those defenders make the tackle and we have the same result.  We'll never know.

What we do know is that Refugio took possession with 3:44 remaining and effectively drove the ball down for the win.  During this drive they had 5 players touch the ball on 9 plays, and a 6th player kicking the field goal, taking their first lead of the game with only 9 seconds left.  TEAM.
