  1. You have some extremely poor logic going on here. Taking a knee gives no more indication of good sportsmanship and respect than standing respectfully while an injured player is being attended to. If you're really concerned about the good sportsmanship, might want to speak with one of your receivers that was being extremely disrespectful to a referee after a call didn't go his way. I saw the same receiver behave the same way during both the China Spring and Rockdale games. The Teague players did nothing during the injury time outs that showed poor sportsmanship or lack of respect.
  2. JJ, so they've won a regional championship? Just trying to get a gauge on where these teams are on championship (or close to it) experience.
  3. Has Arp ever won a Regional Championship?
  4. Will this be the deepest Arp has been in the playoffs? Have they ever one a Regional Championship?
  5. As a neutral fan, I was sitting on Teague side due to ticket line being shorter when I arrived. Not sure why the Yoe fans have such an obsession with the other team's players taking a knee when there's an injury? I could hear the Yoe fans yelling it across the field and it was ridiculous. This isn't a rule, so get over it. The Teague players were not being disrespectful in any way, they were simply gathered in their huddle. Let it go folks, it's optional.
  6. Yoe pic on Teague 25. Teague fans leaving in mass.
  7. No. 16-6. 8:02 left but Game over. Teague can't hang with Yoe playmakers.
  8. Teague o line getting embarrassed. Same for d backs. Poor play.
  9. Teague lookin too one dimensional. Also wasted clock at end of first half. Can't throw the ball worth a flip. With the o line size of Teague, they should be killing Yoe up front but Yoe has more heart at this point. Also, Yoe smaller receivers outplaying Teague d backs.
  10. Celina advances only due to bad call by refs.
  11. Looks like Yoe v Teague for me. Pickin' Teague, but I never count Yoe out. Just hoping for a great game and no injuries. Thanks for the feedback. Guess I'll keep my drive shorter and go see Yoe v Teague.
  12. Trying to understand why you'd think Yoe would beat Rockdale in a rematch after the beat down Rockdale put on Yoe the first time? Malakoff already beating Rockdale pretty good today. Looks like they'll finish them off. I'm thinking Teague is going to take out Yoe.
  13. I need some quick last minute input on game to go to... drive 1 hour to see Yoe vs Teague or 3 hours to see Crockett vs Arp? Anybody got any input on which is better and why? I don't mind the extra drive if Crockett / Arp is gonna be better, but I've read that Crockett has key players hurt.
  14. I don't think they ever play Texas HS playoff games on Thanksgiving, do they?
  15. Yeah, at this point there's what, a 1 in 8 chance that you're playing against the state champ or runner up? So, most teams can say the same thing JJ said about Arp... 4 posts up the page. Reminds me of an old quote, "Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth." At this point, every homer out there, myself included, thinks their team is a legitimate contender until they run into a team that goes well beyond what they've seen and/or thought they would see. My best example of this that I've gone back to a number of times in recent years is Waskom going into the semi-final game against Refugio 2013. They had every reason to believe they were all that they said they were here on Smoaky (and they said it a lot) having torn through the regular season pretty much destroying everyone they played. They truly believed that they were championship caliber and were telling anyone that would listen that they would roll Refugio like they'd been doing other teams. Several, myself included, tried telling them that they had no idea what they were about to encounter unless they had actually taken the time to attend a Refugio game. Final score was 63-33, but felt more like 80-10. A total dismantling that had to have left Waskom realizing they were not a legitimate contender, they just hadn't seen/played one so had no idea what it really looked like. Having said all of that, I haven't seen Arp play this year, so I'm pretty much just blabbing, but also going off of history. Until they show me otherwise, history tells me that Arp is similar to Waskom, they are an above average team, but when they finally come up against championship caliber, they get the reality check that they just didn't know what else was out there. Good news is that Waskom did come up with that championship just a year later. Maybe this is Arp's year? Good luck to Arp. I'd like to see them make it all the way.
  16. I'd like to go with Arp, but even with Crockett missing a few players my gut tells me this is about the point where Arp historically disappoints. Can they take the next step?
