  1. Might want to do some homework. Midlothian (Heritage) definitely better and more consistent than Marshall. No knocks for Kilgore.
  2. Definitely not Marshall. They are all over the board and usually fairly average. Nobody is looking at Marshall as a top tier team.
  3. It was off the top of my head dude. Not like I was saying they are the same, but also not like Carthage donkey stomped Midlothian when they were in the same classification. Both times were close games. Yes, Midlothian would give Carthage a good pre-conference game and an even matchup.
  4. Not with me. I don't see either one of them as upper tier in their classification. I'm talking like Argyle, Aledo, Midlothian... ones that are currently real contenders for the upper tier of their classification. Carthage would represent well and even win some.
  5. What I wish Carthage would do is schedule at least one upper tier team a division or two above them (4AD1-5AD1) during pre-district each year. I understand they don't need to do this because they're already top dog in their division and winning titles, plus it is hard to get those teams to play because there's very little benefit to the higher division team, but it would be awesome for the fans. Perhaps Carthage has done this some and I've missed it? It's always fun to watch top tier teams from different classifications go after each other.
  6. Correct on both points, but especially the "unnecessary thread." It could be a good and fun topic, but it's the way @michaelmyerscomes across in his first two or three posts as if "I'm here to pick a fight" with all the menial garbage teams/fans. Comes across like a dufus who has never put on the pads, just likes to talk smack as though he has contributed to the cause. A poor representation of the Carthage community. I do not think Carthage will be beat, but a few that could pull the upset if Carthage players think like @michaelmyers (which I'm sure they and their coaching staff are beyond that small minded thinking) .... - Cuero, if they can get their stuff together because they looked like garbage against Salado - Wimberley, always has potential to pull an upset
  7. Not against Carthage. They're 2-0 vs Carthage.
  8. If you want weird... I'm sure plenty remember when Texas High played Highland Park in Shreveport. That was super weird.
  9. Come on man. It's not about the UIL getting rich. That's silly. It's about kids getting to play a game they love and fans getting to enjoy the games. I'm guessing Terrell is glad they were allowed in as a 4 seed at 5-5 so they could knock off T-High. And Salado at 3-7 having won only one game since Sept 2...they're glad they had the opportunity to play #3 Cuero to a 7-7 tie and end of regulation. Even though they lost in OT, they showed they could play with anyone in the state.
  10. Wow. That is some ridiculously sad decision making on the coaches. Pathetic.
  11. Yes, but they suck. Trying to see Lorena v Columbus and says "experiencing technical difficulties." Trying to watch Liberty Hill and it's so out of focus it's ridiculous and stalls more than it is live.
  12. Any live streams tonight that don't require payment like NFHS? I'm seeing Malakoff vs Dallas Madison on SHN on YouTube.
  13. Disregard previous got it. It says email must be verified and I think I'm doing that, but nothing changes to allow me to participate in the chat. Can anyone give a simple instruction on how to verify email on the app?
  14. If that isn't case closed I don't know what is.
  15. It's good like it is. Any 4 seed that thinks they shouldn't be in the playoffs, for whatever reason they choose, can simply forfeit as several have done this year.
  16. Right, and we found several "1" pretenders last night and a few more will be revealed. They already know who they are. The real positive is the legitimate "4" contenders get to play another week or two or three.
  17. Yes, we do need these games. See the list of examples already given and there will be some more. There are plenty of 4th place teams that are as deserving as 1st place teams from very weak districts. And a few of these will go several rounds. Don't know why some have to argue this every year. Arguing for LESS FOOTBALL????? I can't wrap my mind around that.
  18. Well their website says "Leaders on the Field." Guess they'll have to remove that part. They already left out leaders in the classroom, so won't have to remove that if that was the issue.
  19. Yep, hopefully it's something other than just not wanting to play, otherwise they may want to take the "Leadership" out of their school name.
  20. Poor Yoakum, they played a crazy schedule and now have to play Yoe again. No upset going to happen there.
  21. 2AD1, R4; D14 4th place Ganado (7-3) from the Shiner/Refugio district has a decent chance of taking out D15 La Villa (8-2). Doesn't matter too much as neither of those teams are going to make any noise, but always good to win a playoff game as a 4th place team.
  22. Yeah, kids are going to say stupid things sometimes. That along with the lack of execution by Carthage's rightly self-proclaimed superior athletes shouldn't diminish Liberty Hill's accomplishment or call for it to be attributed to luck. They put themselves in a position to win and took advantage of what was placed in front of them. Slot-T, when run to near perfection, is as much fun to watch as any offense, period.
  23. Despite all the banter, I do appreciate Carthage and what they do year after year. Unquestionably one of the best programs in Texas. To attribute the second Carthage loss to luck on LH's part is still a slight. On paper, Carthage should wipe the field with LH anytime they play. LH wouldn't have been close in either game if it was luck. It was a lot of hard work and putting themselves in the position to take advantage of Carthage miscues etc.
