  1. Surratt offered zero disrespect to the Gilmer leaders, and respects them, no doubt. Hey, we were beaten and we own that. These Bulldogs are coming again!
  2. I went for the first hour, but had to leave. Heard it lasted two hours. While I was there, SS praised Gilmer, saying they have some super athletes and good coaches. SS also said he made some poor offensive play calls and our effort wasn’t what it should’ve been, especially on defense, and he took responsibility for not having the boys playing as hard as they could every play. Surratt said this was a very difficult loss to take, but we will pick ourselves up and be excited to try again next season. Go Dawgs!
  3. I’d bet a lot of money our boys would’ve been told to get the first down and go to the ground in bounds so you can kill the clock. It ended up working out for Gilmer in the end.
  4. @RETIREDFAN1, I take offense to you assuming UGA advances through UT.
  5. Hey, I would love nothing more than for the SEC not be represented in the CFP this year. However, I was just objectively thinking about who are the current best teams. In my opinion, FSU is not one of the four best teams, that’s all.
  6. Now now, you know you’re being too emotional and knee jerk with this post. The reason you play a tough non conference schedule - Texas is in the CFP simply because they beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa. That win catapulted UT into the CFP even with the loss in the Red River Shootout. Had Texas played a cupcake schedule outside of their Big 12 schedule, they wouldn’t have even been considered. That’s why you don’t just play cupcakes.
  7. What we’re discussing now is why I am in total agreement with you that we need a 12 or 16 team playoff immediately. If we had the extended playoff bracket FSU easily qualifies.
  8. I agree they got hosed, but just because they got hosed doesn’t mean the committee was biased toward Ala and the SEC. The committee did their job in putting the best teams in not “most deserving”. I totally agree, this is not fair to Florida State, but what’s not fair to FSU is what’s best for college football. FSU earned the right to go get smoked, but that means they’re taking the CFP spot away from another team that’s better than them today. Even if FSU had their starter I’d pick Alabama to beat them head to head. The committee watched them struggle the last two or three weeks with backup quarterbacks and squeak by a useless Louisville last night. Sorry, but they do not have the firepower, so did they really deserve to be there or earn it? If they’d not fallen off too too much in offensive production then I’d agree with you, 100%, they should be in. Instead, their offense came to a stop without Travis.
  9. I agree with you on let’s expand to a 16 team playoff tonight and implement it immediately, this year right now and let FSU into the playoffs as the #5 seed. FSU has “earned” it, but that doesn’t mean Alabama wouldn’t thump them in a neutral site game tomorrow afternoon, because they would. FSU should’ve lost at least at BC and versus Clemson earlier this season WITH their starting QB and Louisville should’ve beaten them last night, but their wide receivers dropped two sure touchdowns in the end zone. Florida State is not very good. I mean, when Liberty goes undefeated we’re not all on here screaming they have to be included in the CFP, because they’re an undefeated conference champion. The ACC is nowhere nearly as strong as the SEC and that’s just the truth. The committee is expected to place the four best teams in the playoff.
  10. Well, that’s not the same situation at all. Texas was selected at the proper time. You can’t sub in UGA after the selections have already been announced. No one wants to see FSU bludgeoned in the CFP, especially when everyone is fully aware they’re nowhere near full strength. Injuries are an unfortunate part of football and they have consequences just like losses. The committee made the correct decision with how the teams are currently performing. And anyone arguing that the games don’t matter now or no one will schedule tough non conference games now, because there’s no benefit…..both of those narratives are inaccurate. You just think the games don’t matter and lose one or two games and see what happens, the games will always matter. Next, if UT had not won in Tuscaloosa they’d be ranked #5 today. That tough non conference win on the road is what earned UT a spot in the CFP. People can be upset FSU didn’t make it, and I am actually one of those people, but not that they’re not top 4, because they are not, but because the playoff should already be 8 teams or more. No one truly believes that today FSU is a top 4 team they just want them in, because they’re undefeated not due to their capabilities as a team today.
  11. The problem with this is, he and everyone else know right now FSU would get slapped around by any of the four teams in the CFP. FSU was terrible last night and should’ve lost. What does he think UT would do to his Seminoles if they played today in Nashville, TN, or in Phoenix, AZ, or on the moon?….. They’d get killed. He’s just lashing out for his players, coaches and fanbase. If Norvel were in Sark’s shoes he’d be saying his Longhorns are better than FSU, because our leader on the field is fully healthy and has the offense humming with a stout defense on the other side too. And no one believes FSU could defeat Alabama right now either. I fully understand they’re undefeated and a conference champion, but there is zero chance they can hang with any of the teams who made the playoffs. I understand it’s not fair their starting, star QB went out with injury and that’s why they’re not in. Life is not fair, I promise, I know how unfair life can be, but you have to roll with the cards you are dealt and do the best you can. No amount of crying is going to change the fact FSU isn’t in the CFP. So, the best thing FSU can do is prepare as best they can for their bowl game and win and hold their heads high. If FSU does that and doesn’t whine about their situation the amount of goodwill and genuine like and new fans they will garner for how they handle adversity, how they carry themselves when things haven’t gone their way due to things they couldn’t control - that’s how you build a program and a greatly respected program people will want to be a part of.
  12. UT has won the Big 12, now the rest of the work begins. Making the playoff is just a step along the way to the ultimate goal. It’s exciting to make the CFP and it’ll be good for recruiting, but UT has not won the trophy it strives for, yet.
  13. Texas is most definitely one of the four best teams in the country right now. FSU is undefeated, but would be destroyed by Texas.
