  1. If no one else will say it, I will. Stop being a cry baby. Geez. Traion got hurt. Everyone at the game was sad to see that happen to such a good athlete. Would Brock had won if he had not gotten hurt? Who knows? Brock won. Period. No one cheered when he got hurt. You can try and spin the outcome and make everyone seem bad however you want. Brock won/Yoe lost.
  2. I think you guys do a super job! Listen every week. Great to catch up on teams from other areas, instead of just looking at scores. To the people that have a problem with the show....... 1- Don't listen 2- Start your own show and put them out of business (My money is still on Grant and Terry though)
  3. Don't reply to a lot of these threads, but this one is cause for one. I NEVER thought I would see the day when Celina faithful get on a message board and dog their team. One of the proudest things about being from Celina was the fact that we always supported out team- win, lose, or draw. I saw signs of this about 3-4 years ago. But not to this point. The poor Henderson fans can't even get good banter going, because the Celina people are bashing each other. Here are a few thoughts about this team and this coaching staff: 1- Elliot can coach. Period. Many, Many schools would kill for him to be their coach. He motivates the kids, and is probably the best line coach in the state. He also has the kids as strong as they can be. Give him time, and let him "grow" into the head coaching role. Coach Ford had to do the same thing when he took over. It takes anyone a bit of time to become accustomed to dealing with all the "small" stuff that a HC has to deal with. 2- This team isn't as talented from top to bottom as the past championship teams. It's really hard for parent's to ever admit this. But, it's just the facts. They have as much team speed as any Celina team has EVER had, but that doesn't always translate into football talent. The Raulerson kid is as talented as any kid to come through Celina, but Celina has always had a top tier player or two, OR MORE, on their championship teams. Celina has alway beaten people with their 5-20 ranked kids. Over the years, most good teams have matched up with Celina with their top 2-4 players. But Celina's next 15 were much better football players than the opposing team's. Don't feel like that's the case anymore. Has a chance to change, but not this year. 3- From 1995-2008, Celina played in NINE State Championship games. This doesn't happen, EVER. Some of us became spoiled. We feel like if we aren't playing in the championship, is has been a failed season. Word to the wise: THAT WILL PROBABLY NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN......NOT IN MY LIFETIME.....NOT IN YOUR LIFETIME. It was a history making 13-14 years. Get over the fact that we aren't going to do that again. Will we try? yes. Is that the goal? yes. But more than likely no one will ever have that run again. 4- Give this coaching staff some time to mature. There are a lot of young guys who are learning and getting better every day. There are a lot of coaches that have been through the battles. They will adapt. They will adjust. Trust me when I say, these guys hate losing more than any fan. It's their livelihood, their profession, their life. 5- Go the QB club. Enjoy the breakfast. Enjoy the film. Enjoy the fellowship. Support the coaches. Support the kids. Support the community. Praise them when they win, pick them up when they fail. 6- Strength of Schedule- I saved this one for last. Yes, it's true, Celina hasn't played the tough schedule over the past couple years. Has it hurt us in the playoffs? YES. Does it keep us from being prepared for teams like Henderson, Argyle, etc? YES. But ask yourselves why???? The answer is simple. A few years ago, they scheduled tough folks, not knowing that Prosper and Argyle were on the rise as much as they ended up being. Went into dist without their swagger, and all hell broke loose in Celina. Of course, one of those teams played in the State Championship game. But that didn't matter. The fact was, the fans and part of community don't want losses. Period. They rip coaches, players, each other, etc. etc. etc. when a loss occurs. So I don't fault the coaches for scheduling weak non-dist teams. Keeps everyone happy. So, that problem(Strength of Schedule) was brought about because of some of the fans and townspeople. They leave the coaching staff no choice. This is a good Celina team. Not mediocre. Great? we will see. But a team I am still proud to support. Win, lose, or draw. Whether its a close game or a blowout win or loss......I'll still be proud of them. They've worked their tails off since August. They are still playing the week after Thanksgiving!
  4. People should not be allowed to run for school board if they have kids in school......I have been in this business for a long time, and I have seen some fine, educated, and respected people turn to "goof ####" when they get on the school board. I have seen doctors, lawyers, and other "educated" professionals make some of the most ignorant comments and decisions once they are in a position of power and their kids are involved. It is human nature to protect your own, and in this case, that parental instict seems to have went too far. The best board members I have been involved with over my career have been people who didn't have children in school, and didn't let their emotions and parental instinct get in the way of making intelligent decisions. It's not an easy job, but when you have children involved, it gets a whole lot tougher. I, as well as most educators, have story upon story about the kind of situation that is mentioned above. Just food for thought........
  5. He made a mistake....had a personal foul called on him......made another one......had a second personal foul called on him......was ejected......will be back this week to play.......end of discussion......everything else is between him and his coach......next subject please
  6. Celina's Linebacker from the 2008 game is the starting MLB for #2 ranked Okie State.......and is the second leading tackler on that team.......
  7. bigorange.....i know you think you understand all there is to know about the situation in TB. And if I were in your position and working for the city, I wouldn't say anything negative about townspeople either.......but you don't know what goes on at those board meetings.......I can promise you....the board member in question has ran off EVERY coach that has ever been in TB! period.
  8. It ain't book......he is the solid one on that board......just sayin'
  9. Not mentioning names. Everyone in TB knows who I speak of.....
  10. Here is the scoop on Tom Bean......A few of the board members are very good people.....but there are two on the board that, like someone referenced above, are WAY out of control. There is absolutely NO PLEASING THEM! If you win, then they will find something about the program to gripe about and not just gripe mind you.......pursue, until a coaching change is achieved. One of the board members, is almost single handedly the reason that there have been 5 coaches there since 1999........They won big in 2002-2004.......he ran both coaches out of town. He has run this coach out of town.......he believes that TB is a basketball power, and unless the basketball team is winning big, you are going to fighting him tooth and nail the entire way. And even if the BB team wins big, you may get run out anyway, as the coach did that won a playoff game in 2004, and the basketball team made playoffs also.......(he still got run out by this board member). This particular board member thinks he knows everything about everything and all he does is sit at KC Foods and spread rumors and stir the pot......he's basically a cancer to the entire town and district. But until the town has enough of his antics......he will continue to run people out left and right just as he has in the past. The town is not a bad place. Pretty good location. Pretty clean cut kiddos. You will have up years and down years...... I wish TB all the luck in the world, and if they could get a coach that used to be there to come back, it would be the best move they could make. But be careful boys.....you don't go through 5 coaches, fixing to be 6........in a 11 year period and not have major internal problems. And 3 of those coaches that got ran off have a combined total of 4 state championship rings.
  11. I don't think I read on here where anyone said the reason we lost was that Cody got hurt....but.....the entire game plan changed when Cody went down. Come on.....2 rushes, 15 yards on the first drive? He is also the leader of this team as voted on by the entire team. He and Lavey are the voted upon captains. When one of your captains goes down, and your entire game plan changes, it has an affect on the game. Garrett is a senior who has started a grand total of ZERO games. We all know he has a strong arm, but also saw last night why he hasn't started more games. He did a stand up job. But we need to get Cody and John Jackson back ASAP. Not making any excuses for the Daingerfield game, but we need these two back for district.
  12. That line from LH beat Carthage 42-14 last year and three of those linemen were back as seniors this year....I would find another line to compare your guys to besides LH. You see, those linemen have two rings............
  13. Here is the deal.....Carthage SHOULD win the game!!! They are definitely faster......they are more athletic.........and they have played through some of the best teams that East Texas has to offer. I would not ever say that they have the best line in the state......Liberty Hill beat them last year, actually wore them out last year......3 of those linemen returned this year for their senior season.........Carthage has a very good line obviously! But not the best..........If Carthage loses, they should be embarrassed. They win just about every position breakdown head to head vs. Celina! But those seniors from Celina are playing in their 64th HS football game. They have played all different sorts of teams......fast, athletic teams and players, hardnosed central texas teams, and nasty/mean teams from west texas......They have been there and done that! Im sure they haven't seen the speed that Carthage brings, but don't count out those Bobcats in December!
  14. Saturday 5p.m. Midlothian ISD Stadium Liberty Hill will be the home team!
  15. Dallasnews says that he has gotten 25 carries for 16 yards. Starting QB has 850 yards rushing. Just wouldn't say that he is almost as good as rusher as the starter.....thats all.
  16. ??? The backup has a good arm.....not sure about the running part.....go check the stats.......
  17. You should be coming into Denton on US 380. When you get to Loop 288, take a right and head north. The stadium is right on Loop 288. You can't miss it. It's on the North side of the loop. It will sit off to your right!!!
  18. #12 is the real deal....all over the field and very physical player. The whole Brownsboro team was the real deal as far as the Celina faithful are concerned...........Good luck to the Bears in their future endeavors!!!
  19. This has been a fun week. The Brownsboro fans are very supporting and so are the Celina fans. I, myself, am a Celina faithful. It is going to be an exciting game on Friday night. I can't wait to watch the players from Brownsboro that I have heard so much about this week. If Brownsboro wins, I believe you will see the Celina faithful on here next week giving them their just due. If Celina wins, Im sure you will see the same thing out of the Brownsboro people. Great football atmosphere and should be a great crowd. I don't think there in another football game in DFW area on Friday. To our Brownsboro brethren, have a safe trip into to Irving tomorrow and good luck to both teams.
  20. I talked with someone at Celina today. Here's the scouting report I got: 1- Brownsboro has the best O-Line of any team Celina has played this year 2- The running back/Quarterback combination is very potent. I read on another board where Richards is averaging over 10 yards a carry 3- The Brownsboro defense is without a doubt the most physical of any team Celina has played all year long Celina is expecting a battle. They have nothing but respect for the Bears. I expect a low scoring game. Ill wait for my prediction until the end of the week. Good luck to both teams!!! Can't wait for Friday.....Texas Stadium......December.........it doesn't get a whole lot better than this.
  21. Then Texas Stadium should be rocking on Friday night because Celina brings alot of fans to the games also. I think it's exciting when both teams have huge fan bases. Makes for a great atmosphere. I never saw an official count, but two weeks ago the radio guys said on the internet broadcast there were right at 9,000 at the Madison game. If Brownsboro brings 5-6,000 there will be over 10,000 at Texas Stadium on Friday.
  22. Here's the thing......there might be 2 or 3 people in Celina that are over confident. If you knew the coaching staff in Celina you would know that by tue/wed, they will have the Bobcat players believing that Brownsboro is the #1 ranked team in 3A, that #2 is the best running back in state, that the big o-lineman going to Baylor is the best linemen in the nation, that the QB and receivers are as good a passing team as any combination left in 3A and so on and so on. The kids will believe that they will have to bring their A+ game to even have a shot at the Bears. This is the way Celina prepares for games. Every game!!!! Don't overlook anyone. Talked to some people from Pilot Point and they said that they will definitely be the best team Celina has played all year. I believe them and our kids should believe that also. Good luck to both teams.....should be an exciting environment!!!!!
