Free people absolutely have the right to kneel. They shouldn't but they can if they choose and most veterans are aware that they fought to protect that right. But, athletes are not "free people" during their sporting events. They belong to a school, college, or owned team. That means they have a leader/ boss who they answer to. I don't think kneeling should be allowed any more than Confederate flags on players helmets. My boss gets to decide if can kneel, drink on the job, cuss at clients, or wear blue shirts. My freedom is to leave and go somewhere else. HS football players have the freedom to choose to play or not, but not the "right" to do what they wish while on the team. Ridiculous that folks could see it any other way.
