Hear, hear!
My son is in the elementary school at Overton and recently said "a bad word" when he lost his tempter. He got two licks and a note was sent home, where he had to deal with Daddy. He doesn't want to say that word anymore.
When I was an unruly teenager, I knew that ultimately there was going to be severe consequences to my actions. If that threat wasn't there, I would've pushed the envelope as far as I could.
"The rod and rebuke give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother." (Proverbs 29:15)
"Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; the rod of correction will drive it far from him." (Proverbs 22:15)
"Do not withhold correction from a child, for if you beat him with a rod, he will not die. You shall beat him with a rod, And deliver his soul from hell." (Proverbs 23:13-14)
