  1. At the time, I thought it was a Tony Mandarich-level blunder; but I would argue that Mario means far more to the Texans than Vince means to the Titans or Reggie means to the Saints.
  2. Horrible, but it is a mighty consolation to know that such a wretched crime did not go entirely unwatched. The LORD GOD will make His recompense in due time. Nevertheless, I hope the authorities find the low-life(s) responsible. I'll keep your family in my prayers.
  3. At ease, friend, I just want to send a link to some friends/relatives of mine. ;)
  4. My older son will too... next year. Right now he's only 6, but he's got a cannon. ;)
  5. Yep... any and all of these teams will do East Texas proud, they've accomplished so much by just getting there.
  6. Amen Havon, and the best thing O-town folks can do is come out and support the boys...
  7. The Overton Mustangs are GOING TO STATE!!! Congrats to Travis and his boys!!!
  8. ...second batter grounds out, sends runner to 2B...
  9. Cards up to bat... ...first batter walks
  10. TIE BALLGAME!!! 5-5 at the top of the 7th... no outs.
  11. Vaughn Washington, Overton High School (class of '94), played college ball for University of Houston and turned down a FA offer from the Oilers to pursue his MBA.
  12. ...with everything on it. Seriously. I'll put dang near anything within reach on my 'dog.
  13. Gonna chill 'round the 9-0-3 with the familia. We're calling it a stay-cation. ;)
  14. I'd day about 100% it's already started. While not these exact books, there are books like this already on the shelves of Texas schools.
  15. I think series is going to take all three games, Lovelady is a tough ballclub and they're going to come back strong.
  16. Can I get another go-around? I think I'll get it right the second time. ;)
  17. Hear, hear! My son is in the elementary school at Overton and recently said "a bad word" when he lost his tempter. He got two licks and a note was sent home, where he had to deal with Daddy. He doesn't want to say that word anymore. When I was an unruly teenager, I knew that ultimately there was going to be severe consequences to my actions. If that threat wasn't there, I would've pushed the envelope as far as I could. "The rod and rebuke give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother." (Proverbs 29:15) "Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; the rod of correction will drive it far from him." (Proverbs 22:15) "Do not withhold correction from a child, for if you beat him with a rod, he will not die. You shall beat him with a rod, And deliver his soul from hell." (Proverbs 23:13-14)
  18. Whoa now, Havon, one step at a time my man. While I agree that Overton is on an upturn, we've still got a long way to go to being dominant.
  19. ...but how does it define Liberal?
  20. I agree, I know some people that are [insert broad general group of people here] and they are 100% [insert vague unsupported assertion here] too. Thanks for the shortcut to thinking, but I think I'll pass. Sincerely, Bro. Matthew Baptist Minister
  21. Thrilled for this, and for some of the other things that are happening here. We're putting on our "rally-caps" here in O-town.
  22. Jack Kemp was under-sized with only average speed or arm strength, but he was a tenacious competitor that left it all on the field. As a politician, he was one of the "good guys" who never walked in lock-step for its own sake but saw the big picture. My prayers and deepest condolences for his family and friends...
