  1. 13 points against Gunter at their house and less than a foot away from a first down after going for it on 4th, inside their 15 with 7 minutes to go and down 19-13. We scored zero points against Tatum in 2 quarters that saw a monsoon move in, they failed to score as well. Scores 38 points and had over 400 yards of offense against EF, dug a 27 point hole and outscored them 38-14 the rest of the way but just ran out of time. Yeah, that looks pretty "pedestrian" to me. Now, you want to talk about the 6-1 Brahmas and their schedule? Opponents combined record is 18-32. Held on to beat Hooks, Ore City and New Diana. The team worth mentioning from their schedule is Waskom, who they lost to. In the end, Friday will tell the tale of the 4 front runners and most likely playoff representatives from our district. Daingerfield vs Waskom and Paul Pewitt vs Elysian Fields. The only thing that could be better was if these games were taking place the final week of the season.
  2. They scrimmage tomorrow night. JV starts at 5:30, varsity at 7.
  3. Schedule I have from my son says Hooks in Dfield (time TBD) and Gladewater @ Gladewater with JV starting at 5.
  4. I don't get what the fascination is with South Union? Just because Mrs. Quarles attends church there? Maybe I missed something from an earlier post? To say Tommy only got the job (I'm reading between the lines here so please tell me if I misunderstood your comment) because he is a member of SUBC is laughable. That man has all the qualifications he needs and then some for the job he has been hired to do and we are extremely excited to have him back in Daingerfield. Not that it matters, but I'm also a member at SUBC and we have some of the most giving and caring members of our local Daingerfield/Lone Star/Hughes Springs/Omaha/etc. community that I have ever met
  5. And I should have said this in my post last night, that post wasn’t directed at you KrookedWolfe. I just quoted you because you said “off topic” and I liked that so I just quoted you. I hope you didn't take my post as a jab at you. After re-reading your response, I’m afraid you might have thought I directed that at you. Apologies if you thought that....wasn’t my intentions.
  6. My messenger hasn't worked in several months for some reason, so it's not just you Eagle. I have an unread message from someone and can't open it to read.
  7. If memory serves me Wolfe, it was 12-8. I was only 8 at the time so I could be wrong on that, but I'm pretty sure that was the final.
  8. And to stay off topic, I’ve never denied who I am on Smoaky to anyone that has asked from the community. It has come to my attention that a new poster put 2 and 2 together and made the assumption the man they knew from the community, me, is known as Crankshaft on the Smoaky Forums. Your math don’t add up partner. I can assure you, I have no idea who crankshaft is and could really care less. And that’s not a knock on you Crank, so please don’t take that personal. I’ve missed 3 games in the last 20 years, all because of Cub Scout events I’ve taken my kids and their friends to. My first memory of Tiger football was the loss back in 1982 to McGregor. I didn’t miss a game again until the 91 season. For those who know me, you know why. I love this town and these kids. I have always supported all athletic departments, boys and girls, and the coaches on our staff. I did attend the School Board meeting the night Coach Nelson was hired. And the reason is I have vested interest in this school because my oldest, an 8th grader, is a standout on the track team and has a potentially bright future if he puts in the work and continues to improve. My youngest will be in 6th grade next year and is not a bad little athlete himself. I’ve coached little league baseball for the years my kids played, soccer for 8 years, lead local high school boys at my church and I’ve led our local Cub Scout pack for the last 4.5 years. I challenge anyone to find one negative thing I’ve said on here about our current or past coaches or administrators at Daingerfield. It isn’t going to happen. Everyone wants to put coaches, community members and administrators on blast, which I guess is your right, but how many would be putting them on blast if your true identity was known? Go ahead and say it wouldn’t stop you. Because if that’s your response, then man (or woman) up and tell us who you are. If you want to know about my character or anything else about me, all you have to do is ask 98crush, Eastxfinest, 4to3, Jakebrake, Franksnbeans, Fb4life or anyone from the community that knows me and they’ll tell you. Or call me. I’m not hard to get ahold of and would love to talk about it. My personal cell number has been in the local paper many times and schools for year due to my involvement in the community. I can promise you, I have the best interest in my heart for all kids at DLSISD. Like I said, I love this community and these kids, in turn I will support whoever is put in the position to coach our kids. In the meantime, I’ll be praying for all involved that we can quit this finger pointing and name calling and give these kids a more positive influence for them to follow than what they’ve been getting on here and other social media outlets. Bluetiger114 is out, RGT
  9. Not sure about the boys, but Daingerfield Lady Tigers won the girls Area Championship.
  10. We actually played them in ‘08 and ‘09, not ‘01 Wolfe. They matched up well with us in the 2008 game and the ending was in doubt until the final minute. In the 2009 game, they didn’t match up near as well, that was a one sided game in our favor, much like the ‘98 State Championship was one sided in their favor. We have the talent coming up to make another run. May not be this year, but then again it may be. I’m ready for August to get here.
  11. I'm with you now 93. Not many speak of that fieldhouse since most things run through the other fieldhouse now. Brain #### #### when you get older
  12. Sure it was the man the Field House was named after? I think he passed away if memory serves me correctly. Richard Woods Fieldhouse?
  13. They offered Traylor what he wanted. He wanted a big payday for 2 assistants he was bringing with him and they couldn’t offer what they wanted. That’s why Traylor turned us down.
  14. I’m a little curious myself. Who bailed after being offered? I thought it came down to Waldie, Mason and one other?
  15. Very reliable source said Friday at 1 in Royse City.
  16. Unless something has changed, we play there this year ETF. They were in our house last year.
  17. We actually lost to Atlanta in Spring Hill back in 1995. Believe the final was 17-7.
  18. It was really a tale of the first half. Daingerfield opened up on a 15-0 run and ended the first up 25-7. AG rallied back to close to within 31-26 at the half. The second half was back and forth and still very much in doubt until the clock got to about 15 seconds. We never trailed in the game but AG was tough and never went away. Kudos to those kids for coming back. A lot of other teams may have folded at 15-0 or 25-7 and they didn't. On to Rockwall and the Regional for the Blue Tigers. Great job tonight guys. You had your backs against the wall and came out on top. Proud of my Tigers!!!
  19. Blue Tigers lead Whitewright 47-36 late in the game.
