  1. Thanks Flukeshot. If that's the case, Eustace should slide into the 3rd spot if the playoff scenario I saw was correct.
  2. Good job Winnsboro. The Raiders are going to be dangerous in the playoffs. Should be some good football played in Region II during this years postseason.
  3. KLTV is showing Lone Oak won 48-21. If that is a correct score, then Lone Oak takes 3rd in district right? This is not a confirmed score, just what KLTV.com is reporting.
  4. Have to agree with you on that one. All of our fans knew it would be 8-2a eliminting each other last year with the winner getting a date in the State Semi's....Melissa had other plans though for both of us. We need to take it one game at a time, starting this week. There's alot of football to be played before we could *potentially meet again. Good luck Lions, hope to see you do the road.
  5. I would like to see a replay of that. I thought he was laying on top of the defender that tackled him and his knee never touched the ground. I was yelling for him to keep running thd entire time.
  6. Great game tonight from both teams. Like last year, this one could have gone either way. Haskins is an awesome RB, who just so happens to also have a pretty good Oline. The Tigers really stepped their game up tonight and made us proud. I also thought the officiating was good tonight. Take care of business and we should see each other again down the road. Good luck Lions and lets get ready for the Hornets, Daingerfield. GO BIG BLUE!!!!
  7. This game was in Daingerfield and actually wasn't close until the 3rd quarter. New Boston was up 27-7 before Daingerfield came storming back to make it 27-21. NB would score and make a 2 point conversion to go up 35-21 and the Tigers answered back to trim the lead to 35-28 but could get no closer. That was our first year in 2a ball.
  8. Yep. They won the battle of field position the entire game. We started most of our drives deep in our territory and never could get a drive started. Best I can remember, we trailed by only 3-0 when the QB handed off to the Rb and then the RB turned around and threw across the field back to the Qb for their final score, there was abouy 3 minutes remaining at that point.
  9. I believe that Jamario Thomas was also stopped at the line of scrimmage on a run and New Boston's defense stopped thnking the play was over ....but the ref never blew the whistle, Thomas came out of the pack and ran for a TD to be the difference in the game. And yes, we took Spring Hill out the following week 49-21 before getting beat by Midland Greenwood.
  10. Are they injured or out for other reasons? I know we have a handful that are banged up and it wouldn't hurt my feelings to sit them out until district starts. I would rather have them rest against Gilmer and not chance getting hurt worse a week before district begins.
  11. Turn at the red light at the elementary school (from DeKalb that will be a left turn), then you will take a left on 3rd street if I'm not mistaken. The stadium will be on down the road on your right.
  12. I was fortunate enough to call Coach Bowman my friend. And as his friend, I spoke to him numerous times in cofidence and can tell you his reason for leaving had nothing to do with a lack of talent coming up. I will leave it at that. As far as can we make it to state...of course we can. We have the talent but it takes alot of work and luck along the way. Lets get through Clarksville and Gilmer healthy, and then concentrate on district before we worry about the playoffs or state though.
  13. Great post and you nailed it. You need to make your memories now. I see so many siblings who don't speak because of petty differences. I had 1 sibling, my brother who was older than me. A car accident took his life, a cousins and one of my best friends more than 20 years ago when I was only 17. If you are grown with siblings, count your blessings and give them a call.
  14. We actually lost to LK in the Area round in '87, 21-17. Finished the "down" year with a record of 9-2-1. The only other loss was to 4a Carthage 10-9 and the tie was to 4a Henderson 27-27.
  15. Final was Gladewater 31 Daingerfield 14. The officiating was good...and both teams had turnovers. Good game Bears and good luck here on out. Keep your heads up Tigers and lets get what is wrong fixed, doesn't get any easier....Atlanta, then Clarksville, then Gilmer to round out non-district play.
  16. The move in played WR last night with the JV because he wasn't eligible to suit up this week with varsity but would be eligible starting next week. I'm not sure where he will line up on varsity but I do know he is a sophomore and my buddy said he is the real deal.
  17. I was told he was serving a one game suspension by a friend of mine from Ore City. He will be playing next week along with a move in that I haven't heard anyone talk about on Smoaky. I am told the move in is the real deal as well. Things should be looking up in Rebel land.
  18. Good game Bears....good luck going forward. Tigers, we have a lot of work to do. Good thing is this was just the first game of the season.
  19. I think you may be overqualified Pops lol
  20. I talked go Crush earlier....that should count. Plus I have a terrible memory so when we do something against the law you won't have to worry about me snitching on you because I won't remember. Oh yeah, almost forgot that I talked go Crush earlier....that should count.
  21. The 84 game was a great one. I expect this one to be close to. The main question may not have anything to do with either team, the main question may be what Mother Nature has in store. Could be a wet and nasty game.
