That's a new one. Why on earth would Dallas folks be obsessed with Houston? That makes no sense. Dallas is the city with the Superbowl championships. But you're spot on about the traffic. Some friends and I went to Houston a few months ago for a concert because it got rescheduled and the Dallas date wouldn't fit into my schedule. We had fun, but good god the traffic was/is unbelievable. Let's see... it's also hotter and more humid there and it's just flat out ugly... at least Dallas has an attractive skyline. I'm sorry, you can try to argue Houston>Dallas, but besides the Rockets little run (*no Jordan... *cough cough), there's not much of an argument.
