    I like the BearKats in a close game. Question for someone in the know, is there wheel chair access from visitor parking lot? I have been to Overton many times several since remodel and update, just never paid much attention handicapped accessibility prior to needing it.

    I call always expect negativity or a comeback on this era of Smoaky. UG is 4-1 not a bad start, Overton is 5-0 a good start. Cushing is 3-2 Fair start with 2 losses by (6) & (1) points total 7pts in two losses. I prefer to always see the positives

    I expect this to be a very good game. The BearKats have two losses by a total of 7 points (6pts) & (1pt) against Good teams 2A division 1 teams. This game will likely be won by the team with the fewest penalties, turn overs and mental mistakes. This district is more balanced this year than it has been in many years. Each team will have two weeks to prepare, polish their game and heal and recover injuries players. Better arrive early to claim a seat.

    You sure Colmes beat Cushing. I heard it was 50-0 running clock 3rd and 4th qtr. Maybe I just read the post wrong.

    What in the World happened that would merit a forfeit and packing up one’s team and leaving, I have only seen that happen one other time in my 63 years. It occurred in Mt. late 90s early 2000 Maud was visiting team pre Finley era if I recall. Mid second Qtr HC called a time out marched his team out loaded up and left. It was not a loo sided game, very poor officiating for sure.

    Overton was Very much improved last year, I thought the coach was moving in the right direction. Offense was productive especially the passing game, long ball inside throws and dump passes. Hoe they hold it together.

    Hula, I agree. Bearkaks have learned how to win when expected but now need to learn how to step it up and search for ways to Win when not expected. I belive they will overcome and succeed. Looks like we will not make the game since real live tickets can not be purchased. We do Not make online purchases with our Debit cards.     Ash young man is going to enjoy a successful exciting HS career, Very talented multi sport young athlete. Was looking forward to the game with him in it, but understand not wanting to compound a shoulder injury.

    Crockett ??? Wonder why Crockett, kinda out of the area/way for both schools especially Colmesinel. I was expecting maybe Nacogdoches, Lufkin, Carthage. Lots of variables to consider for sure.

    I will give a slight edge to Tenaha because they run the ball some better, I think Overton has a better more consistent passing game. Overton can be in this game. Would not surprise me if Overton wins.

    Field has not been a issue for Alto first half, however it is raining heavily during halftime.

    Skip Tamplin coached in Henderson many years, 70’s and 80’s for sure, if I recall correctly Head Baseball late 70’s.

    That’s the plan, this will be only the 2nd game this season for me. Was in the Hospital all of September and most of October home bound.

    Noticed a comment from you mentioning Coach Finney, where is he now and while I have your attention where are ? Still retired and where is you son last we spoke he was in Henderson?

      Congrats on the retirement!! Having grown up on a farm/ranch myself I know that you will be very busy in your retirement!!! Always a fence to fix or a sick cow to treat!!!! If Winnsboro is playing when Cushing is open you should try to come to the game...I promise you would love the style of ball we have going this year!!! Best of luck and stay healthy my friend!!

      Great! Be sure and let me know if you can make it to a game! I will definitely get you a ticket! We also have a brand new stadium and turf field, it is real nice!!
