  1. That's been a question we've asked so many times, if a successful coach would change the program. I know most people weren't completely okay with having Huntington alumni being a coach because they thought, "If they never won, how would they be able to teach these kids to." Which I found a joke because I think having someone who witnessed it fit hand could really have the attitude to change things. I know Ryan Soderquist was a prime example but again, no more than 2 years but that was his decision, not the school boards, I believe.
  2. I said before the season that them running that is a bad idea. Our playbook barely consisted of pass plays. We would practice a ton of plays in I-formation and some other pass plays that looked good but never did any in game.I remember when we were 3rd in 14 I believe and we did a QB keeper. As far as the town's support, not much is there. We have plenty people to cheer on but the school won't make announcements of the team's game or recap after a win(Not like it would happen much). It seems to be getting better with new, younger teachers doing more with the social pages and using the drone to make videos and such.
  3. Completly agree, the year we ran the spread it was a massacre, pick 6 all day. The DW was the most effective and enjoyable.
  4. The girls athletics are always doing pretty good, softball mainly. I am not so sure about the other teams but not as bad as football most definitely.
  5. They ran the Double wing 2014-2016 and a few times before, I think they bounced around the 4-3 and 3-4 a few times. The parents and students never understood the offense, always would shout things like, "Pass the ball". I think there is potential with the offense, may have never been understood currently by some.
  6. I agree, Gandy was a great leader and coach and him leaving was surprising. Not so much with the kids leaving, most kids play from little league and up their whole life.
  7. So to some, this topic is pretty laughable. I mean in the 35 years the program has been alive they have totaled 38 wins, a max of 3 per season best, which has been done four times I believe. Even attending the school I could never understand why the team never found success. Of course, players blamed the coaches, ex-coaches blamed the current coaches, I have even heard about the team being cursed. We have had some great players, the 2016 Class runningback, Jeremiah Robertson for example, but not a single playoff win... In my own opinion, I think it has something to do with not giving the coaches enough time. I think the longest held coach was four years with Todd Hopkins and another when the program started, Jack Churchill. So what are a few thoughts on the failure of the team, any past coaches experience with the team as far being on and facing?
