  1. Same here, just finished watching it and really wasn’t all that impressed with ST. I honestly don’t think they can win the next round against Decatur or Canyon. I’m also with you on Canyon beating Decatur. Just don’t think Decatur has the D-fence to stop Canyon.
  2. Ok, here are my options on both games. Melissa/Paris both well coached teams with lots of talent on both sides of the ball. Paris has a really good defense and can slow a good offense down. ( ask Argyle ) Melissa has a really good offense but they also have a solid defense. I see Melissa winning this game by 1 or 2 scores. Should be a tight game till the 4th qt. Argyle / LaVega The Rematch! Seems every season of late these 2 teams collide with each other twice. Of course LaVega winning when it matters. Not this time! Strap those helmets on tight boys, them Eagles are for real. I don’t care if Raul’s is back under center or playing defense, he can’t beat this Argyle team by himself! LaVega couldn’t stop the running game of Argyle in their first meeting this season and they dang sure won’t stop it now. LaVega will double #5 all night long which will open up the passing game for the Eagles other talented receivers. I don’t look for Argyle to go to the air as much as normal, but I think you will get a heavy load of the 4 headed monster backfield that runs behind that big O-line. Argyles D is much improved from the first meeting and look for them to make several stops and force the Pirates to punt early. Not gonna be a good night for the Pirates if Argyle jumps out to a 14 point lead. Hard to play catch-up against this talented of a team. I see Argyle winning 42- 21 and moving on to face Melissa. Much respect for the Pirates, but they are not the same team of years past. We’ve all been there before.
  3. Absolutely no one in there respected division.
  4. No disrespect to Stephenville, I just don’t think they have enough to beat Argyle. I realize they have nothing to lose, but they need more than luck on their side. Argyle by 3 or more scores.
  5. This is just my opinion of how I believe this game will turn out. I don’t think Stephenville has the defense to cover Argyles wide receivers, or stop that 4 headed monster of a backfield that runs behind one of the best lines in 4a. Argyle just has too many weapons and can score in bunches. Stephenville may have a potent offense, but I think the Argyle defense will create turnovers and force the punting team out early. Too much for Stephenville to overcome. The score will indicate a much closer game but that’s only because Argyle will have their backups in by the 4th Quarter ( if not midway through the 3rd ) and Stephenville will score some trash points. I see the depth of Argyle taking a toll on the Ville. Hard to compete against fresh legs at every position.
  6. Argyle had a hell of a pre district schedule. LeVega, Pleasant Grove, Decatur ( who was ranked in top 10 at the time) Celina ( who was ranked in top 10 as well.) Then started district off against top ranked Melissa, and ended district against ranked Paris. By far one of the toughest schedules in 4a. Now if you look at the playoff bracket, Argyle is projected to face Stephenville, LaVega, and or Paris, Melissa, and the overlooked MH Jaguars. If Argyle pulls off a state championship after the road they will have to take, they will have damn sure earned it.
  7. To me, it’s seemed Argyle played very conservative last night. Almost as if it was planned. But I was definitely impressed with how the defense played in the second half.
  8. No team will test Carthage this year.
  9. Regal I’m telling you this team is special. And has so much depth. If the Eagles can stay healthy they will be playing for a title. And they have gone through a gauntlet of a schedule this year.
  10. I thought Melissa did a good job at slowing down Argyles running game. Not sure of the numbers, but the Eagles didn’t run that well against Melissa. Guess you don’t have to when the Air Attack is working just fine.
  11. That Argyle defense is really coming together. I have a feeling we lost a starter on that D with a knee injury. I hope not. If this team can stay healthy they could definitely make a run in the playoffs and wind up at Jerry World.
  12. Looks like someone needs to do some homework on their home team... 48-21 Argyle
  13. I could be wrong, and have been before. But I don’t see this game being all that close. Argyle by 3 touchdowns.... or more.
  14. No doubt Mellisa has a great team. They are fun to watch for sure.
  15. I’m impressed with how Argyles Defense played last night. Those young men are starting to figure it out and can only get better. Then on the offensive side of the ball the Oline absolutely dominated that big front of LaVega. I predicted Argyle to win by 2-3 scores and was not surprised by the outcome. This is one of the best Argyle teams I’ve seen and I’ve been watching them since 2013. I still don’t think this team has reached it peak yet and that’s a good thing. This is a special team for sure. I’m pretty sure CJ Rogers is a little sore this morning as he took so BIG hits last night from some BIG boys.
  16. Argyle is running the ball on LaVega I look for the offense to open it up in the 2nd half.
  17. If the Eagles can tighten up some things on defense, I believe they will have a solid enough team to go all the way. IF they don’t catch the injury bug this year. Always a killer for the Eagles.
