Definitely not rolling in dough, but this is the second time in two days on two different threads that someone has put a school on front street because they "rich and white". Football threads are nowhere for racism and classism debates. Freaking kids we are discussing. Good to see someone stand up against blanket statements. Just turned me into a PG fan.

I agree with this 110%. My only issue was labeling an entire district as having a racist mindset. Highland Park is your richest of rich part of town are they not? These kids cannot help they come from a privelaged background. I'm not saying feel sorry for the rich white kid. I'm just saying let's not say their all racist. I'm white and the only privelage I get is if the Omaha Dairy Queen isn't out of nacho cheese lol. Personally I think East Texas football plays the best ball. And since we are talking about it I also think East Texas football is how the world should be. Your urban schools are going to be more likely less diverse. Well as your East Texas schools, even the bigger ones, have a diverse group of young men. White and black. Rich and poor. All of them, at least on Friday night, working at a common goal. Depending on their brother beside them. On Friday nights the players and fans of that diverse team are color blind. Maybe we can get there where we are color blind on more occasions than Friday nights. You fellas have a good day.

Don't where you getting them numbers brahmafan. Enrollment was pretty much the same through the years except for this mass exodus we have had the last couple of years. UIL Cutoffs fluctuate so much. We had 188 in high school and missed the old 2A cutoff and was stuck with the big boys 94-97. All you got to do is look at team pics to see that. No coach at Pewitt has had the luxury of big numbers. I don't think Huckaby was hurting to much with Teric and Jesse lol. Man we was stuck with Atlanta for freaks sake. Sophomore I was stuck with Pitt and Gilmer. Still made playoffs though When only 2 went and out of a dang 8 team district. Ain't no need us bickering. You a Brahma. I'm a Brahma. It's all good.

You forget that coach Bickham coached 4 teams that were the smallest old 3A team in Texas. Still 3/4 years playoffs ( when only two made playoffs). 96 co district champs with Dfield. 97 area finalist. Got beat by 7 by commerce. Who later lost by 7 to 4x state champ Sealy. No comparison to Bickham and Huckaby. Remember Bickham has ring. Huckaby don't. Apples and oranges comparing the two. Again go talk to the Coach we both respect and get his opinion. That's all you got to do. Both those losing season game against old 3A competition. Huck can't wear Bickhams whistle. Period.

Honestly I think Daingerfield can pull out the win if they meet up. Unless you seen Dfield in the last month, you don't have a clue how Waldie has righted this ship. Kinda happy for the kids. Tough playing in Titletown. These boys will get more and more respect as the weeks go on.

Fan I can guarantee you Coach K wouldn't dog Pewitt on a public forum. A man with legitimate gripes. A man that has real skin in the game. A man that stayed when most or all would have left given the circumstances. Just don't get running Pewitt in the ground. Sure I got my problems with the district but they reside in another building and not in the field house. A job opened. Gentry applied. I don't like what went down, but it wasn't Gentry's doing. Have no clue what you do, but I'm guessing you wouldn't pass up a promotion. It's how us young men advance ourselves in whatever field we are in. I'm a fan of running the ball. But I can remember that in the stands people gripe and moan about the ground and pound lull you sleep offense. I loved it but all those Landrys and Lombardies in the stands seemed not to. Now some of those same guys are wanting that ground and pound game back. Can't make anyone happy fan. It would surprise you to know how many parents help the demise of Coach. Like you said he's forgot more about football than we will ever know. Oh and I forgot. Just to cement his love for Pewitt, coach didn't get shafted once but twice. Never should've been a Huckaby at Pewitt. Saying all this I get to this. All these skeletons in the closet doesn't have anything to do with Coach Gentry. He didn't fire him. And it's utter nonsense to say they don't consult him. I talk to him at least twice a week. He knows I'm loyal to him. He laughed when I asked him that. If it wasn't for him HS would've blew our doors off. Which I say know is what I was expecting. I know Gentry respects Coach. It's unheard of for a new coach to keep the former hc on staff. He was worried about any tension. He didn't know Coach K at the time. All Coach K cares about is Pewitts success. He doesn't care if the dub went to Black, Luttrell, Bickham, Huckaby, himself or Gentry. He just cares if it's a Brahma dub. I'm lucky he was my coach and friend. You were lucky he was your coach. Gentry is lucky to have a wealth of knowledge on his staff. And all of Pewitt is lucky to have the Huddleston/Kumrow connection for 66% of Brahma history. I think all Bulls of all decades can agree to that. Have a good one Brahma brother.

Just go look at the wall on the field house. Think we made playoffs three times in the two decades that sepearated Huddleston from Bickham.
