No official word but if so had a guess I’d say collar bone or seperated shoukder. On the play he was hurt on he curled back and blocked behind Dixon on the catch & run. The MH player was at full speed and #7 took all the blow on his shoulder.
Boys are saying a deep bone bruise. Thankful no worse than that!

Tough run this year, KDogs. Looking forward to y’all being back to normal next year! With your upcoming talent, you’ll be good to go next year!

I know this isn't on the volleyball site but wanted to congratulate the Beckville Ladycats in their state semifinal win today. They will play for the 2A state championship tomorrow at 5. Go Blue!
Good luck, Blue! Your friends in Carthage are cheering you on!

The 2016 team broke me from ever counting Carthage out... This team reminds me of that team, so I’m staying with them all the way to JerryWorld.
I still get anxiety thinking about the 2016 team!

The 2018 Dawgs just lack consistency at times. Sometimes they look and play like back to back champs on a 30 something game win streak. Other times they look like a JV team. I want to see them get more consistent and execute at a high level. I think we will see it over the next two weeks. More offensive wrinkles coming with different personnel.
100% agree!!

This team reminds me of the 2016 team; I didn’t think they could go all the way either, but they proved me...& others wrong.
I’m not sure my heart is ready for another playoff season like that one!

My comment was in response to your concern about the Lion pass defense. Carthage and Van are going to throw it a lot. Henderson may be able to slow down the Van passing game by getting pressure from the front four. Henderson D line is better than Van O line. However, Carthage O line is good and will give Capps time to throw. Henderson D line may get some pressure but not consistently. If Henderson can’t cover multiple receivers in pass coverage it will be a repeat of last year vs Carthage. You will have to account for #10, #7, #4, #26 & #17 every play.
Add in 24 as well! Think he did a good job last night

Carthage band announcer! That's awesome.
As for the game, I thought the vandals battled ok after that 1st quarter. Van came out rattled and nervous. 3 first quarter turnover obviously won't work against the champs. But 14-7 for 3 quarters isn't too shabby against the dawgs. I know surratt said they played poorly on o, as a vandal I'm dang sure glad they didn't play well. Wow, carthage is really impressive in all phases.
Our O was awful Friday night. Didn’t play our caliber of Dawg Football at all. That being said, looking forward to seeing how y’all fare in the rest of the district games. We’re glad you’ve joined the Doom! Best of luck to the Vandals- a good addition to DOD

The Dawg offense does not look like the Dawgs offense in the first half.
Defense still playing great.
You have to chalk it up to so many young players on the offensive side of the ball.
They will learn to keep the motor running the whole game.
Offense was flat tonight. They’re going to have to get fired up and not be complacent! I agree they will get better but they can’t afford so many mistakes!

The boys said that he was a very nice kid. Several on the team were. They even congratulated us for making good hits while they were getting off the ground!

Gut wrenching loss. We lost this game like we lost the Gladewater game.
Congrsts Dogs. You have a great team and stadium. Go win another title. I hope we did enough to gain a little respect.
Absolutely!! Hats off to the Hawks! Hope we play back to back again in December! Good luck!

Little of both Texas is down it is obvious if you listen to their fans. Kilgore is not terrible either and probably goes into the playoffs with a 6-4 or 5-5 record.
Remember they don’t have to play center this year!

That’s funny! Agree- good luck to both!

I know this has been said already, but as I’m reading through this, I can’t help but feel like I understand now how the Lobos might feel about us! I’m all for a good football team and having confidence in yourselves, but there’s a little thing called reality. Like it or not, we all have to live in it! Not holding the entirety of Newton in a bad light because of a couple of misguided posters, but come on!!
Think Newton will roll- and rightly so. But this thread is sure making me wish Gilmer could get it together! For this game, at least!
