  1. Interesting idea, but I think this is most logical at lower classifications. Nothing like the 3A state basketball game being Dallas Madison vs San Antonio Cole. 4A small towns competing against Faith Family who's district lines span Avalon ISD, Cedar Hill ISD, Dallas ISD, DeSoto ISD, Duncanville ISD, Ennis ISD, Ferris ISD, Grand Prairie ISD, Italy ISD, Lancaster ISD, Maypearl ISD, Midlothian ISD, Milford ISD, Palmer ISD, Red Oak ISD, Waxahachie ISD. Putting a town of 4000 against a city of 1.3 Million seems a little ignorant.
  2. Does he have a background in that? Know White Oak has been spread for a while.
  3. Grand Saline and Robinson are going to be built a little more similar to White Oak than TX high, marshall, poteet and north forney. Tough district that his son put up numbers in. He will help for sure. Like I said wish him well. Didn't like the Iske hate and IMO he's been replaced with someone with a lot to prove.
  4. Grand Saline 5-5 Grand Saline 1-9 Robinson 3-7 I wish him well but don't understand how this is seen as an upgrade from Iske regardless of how you felt about him. In 9 years he had only 3 years worse than Ludlows best year. With all the negative I've seen about Iske being the reason WO couldn't win this is interesting.
  5. Any tax payers in Sabine/New Diana mad about this one? lol
  6. We know who they aren't hiring.
  7. What are the odds yall look to get back under center? When the QB went down it was apparent the offense had no answer even with talented backs.
  8. It would be mutually agreed upon during the game by the officials and coaches. A coach can say no. I think the mercy rule would be an interesting discussion. They already have one in 6man football. Would the Wininoa girls have survived a season with a mercy rule? The problem is this can't be a real discussion because people against it just yell about snowflakes.
  9. Nothing like a UIL mandate stating you had to spend money on training from a singular company, AND set up a policy to constantly supply that company with money every year. Someone lined their pockets on the taxpayers' dime.
  10. A lot of schools would rather hire a HC with a bad record because he has experience than give a coordinator their shot. And bad records snowball as the jump from losing school to losing school. On the other side Winning/losing season isn't always the best indicator of if a coach is maxing out talent or not.
  11. I'm interested to see if they just want new blood or if they want to "spread em and shred em". Also interested in how the latter will go.
  12. Holliday AD/HFC is open on their website.
  13. Would the town and kids buy into his style? Lot of towns would rather not make the playoffs than be slot-t. I'm thinking Hughes Springs was one of them.
  14. This job is posted as “Possible AD/Assistant AD”…. Interesting.
  15. This thread shows a major problem in the coaching world and the communities around it. If this is true and has been "leaked" before official it means someone trusted to conduct business behind closed doors can't keep their mouth shut. Most likely a school board member that likes everyone to know how much they know and how much power they have. I have seen these "leaks" happen before the head coach even knows. Nothing like getting a call about your job being open from someone who's already heard down the grapevine. Imagine waiting for your meeting with the superintendent to find out if you have to uproot your family, and you find out from a guy who read a smoaky thread.
  16. Tough place to build for a lot of reasons outside of coaching. Not a ton of athleticism compared to the district. I believe they were wing-t already, so highly doubt there is a better offensive system for them. And a community where kids have to work. Don't know how it has been recently but know there was a time it was a struggle to get kids to practice/ workouts because of the dairy. Maybe just the idea that they need a new voice, new spark, but Green is a good coach.
  17. This happens every year. And by THIS I mean someone gets on here and tries to prove a point about 4 seeds and playoff structure. Someone then shows evidence that the opposite can happen. Someone then says something involving "Back in my day". Mismatches will happen in every round, some districts are stronger than others, nothing is wrong with more football, and why give a team a bye instead of giving a team a chance.
  18. GS played West Rusk within 3. I saw West Rusks speed last year at regional track. They've seen NB speed or faster already.
  19. Can’t believe those snowflakes didn’t play in the tornado like we would have back in my day.
  20. Can’t believe I forgot Joaquin. They run slot-t extremely well. I didn’t know Cushing was flexbone seems to be the right move for that program.
  21. I think they've all been hit on here it comes down to what size program. East Texas: Pleasant Grove Wing T 4ADII, Paul Pewitt Slot-T 3ADII, Waskom Flexbone, 3ADII, Pittsburg Slot-T 4ADII, Vidor Slot T 4ADII, Centerville Wing-T 2ADI, Hughes Springs Slot-T 3ADII, Tatum Flexbone 3ADI More towards Dallas: Terrell Wing-T 5A DII, Centennial Flexbone 5A DI, Bells Slot-T 3ADII, Gunter Pistol Flexbone 3ADII, Holiday Wing-T 3ADII Centex: Franklin Slot T 3ADI, Liberty Hill 5ADII Slot-T (considered THE Texas Slot T), Shiner- Split back veer 2ADI
  22. You're right old man you're smarter than every coach and every school district in East Texas. You're tougher too. If thunderstorms happen Thursday you're good for a normal week pushing it to Friday. If they happen Friday everyone gets playoff week cut into. So if we are dealing in your what ifs. Moving the game is still smarter than your "show up wait show up again scenario."
  23. So your plan is to show up wait, literally in a thunderstorm to the point of moving it to Saturday. Go home. Come back Saturday. Instead of show up Thursday and play. How is the later more inconvenient?
