Texas High v Lovejoy - Friday 7:00 at Pirate Stadium in Longview
Spothhb2 replied to bordertown's topic in High School Sports
Just some stuff I heard.... they wanted to play indoors but the Star was booked. (Panther Creek vs Anna) talked about playing in Sulphur Springs but the SS school district could not find anyone willing to work over the holidays. -
sorry for being a bit to generic but that was how it was described to me...

I think he is out for "discipline" but I did see him on the sidelines so it makes me wonder if he has an injury.

WEEK 8: Texas High (6-0) (2-0) Vs. Marshall (3-4) (2-1)

Kind of curious why Marshall tried a FG from the THigh 41? The player who blocked the kick basically stuffed it. -
WEEK 8: Texas High (6-0) (2-0) Vs. Marshall (3-4) (2-1)

As I understand it, several of the players you mentioned above were out for "discipline" issues. -
Lone Star had 6 turnovers ( 2 for scores) and still scored 40 points.

On a bit of side note, the THS Band Boosters are very happy this game is being played at Grim. I recommend the hamburgers and I am sure hot choco will be available. welcome to town -

Texas High Tigers vs. Frisco Lone Star @ Cowboys Stadium
Spothhb2 replied to 55PLAYER1's topic in High School Sports
A friend of mine said that both #1 and #2 QB's for Lone Star got hurt in the first half. I checked the stats and they only listed two guys with stats. Makes me wonder if the info was accurate. -
I don't, the morning news does though.

On the Thursday game topic. I was surprised to see the number of games statewide that are being played on Thursday. I do know that grades take effect on Friday 11/12 or at least for T-High. I wonder if that played a role...
-
Cellars missed games due to grades last year so I think the Tiger coach may be working on plan b.
-
The coach has high hopes. Quite a few good players are returning. Defense may be better than last years. Hopefully the QB will pass the first six weeks this year.

Below is what the Dallas Morning News is predicting: 7-5A: Denison, Frisco, Frisco Lebanon Trail, Frisco Liberty, Frisco Memorial, Lake Dallas, Lovejoy, Princeton, Prosper Rock Hill 8-5A: Carrollton Creekview, Crandall, Forney, Greenville, Mesquite Poteet, North Forney, Royse City They don't list any East Texas teams but I know some of you have speculated about where some of the above may land.

5A Div I and II schedule change wish list

Whatever Texas High does they will be stuck playing Arkansas High. I think they would like to find a stronger set of opponents. -
5A Div I and II schedule change wish list
Spothhb2 replied to Mavchamp's topic in High School Sports
I did hear that Texas High dropped their game with LE. They have games scheduled with Kilgore, JT, and Forney. Oh, and Arkansas High. -
Drive for THigh to Sherman was 2:42. The drive to Mesquite was actually shorter 2:37. Just saying.

Saw the below in the DMN: About five hours after the cutoff lines were announced, McAllen ISD posted on its Twitter page that the enrollment numbers for its schools were incorrect, including three schools that had been placed in 6A. Highland Park ISD athletic director Johnny Ringo started getting phone calls saying that if those three McAllen schools had to move down to 5A, the UIL might adjust the 6A cutoff line and Highland Park could end up moving up to the UIL’s largest classification. Tuesday afternoon, UIL communications specialist Logan Lawrence sent an email saying that the classification cutoff numbers would not change, no matter which classification the McAllen schools end up in. But shortly after that, Lawrence said even that stance had changed, and that while the UIL doesn’t expect to change the cutoff numbers, it’s not completely ruling it out, either. Lawrence said it could be later in the week before anything is finalized.

Texarkana Texas (7-4) vs Frisco Independence (9-2)
Spothhb2 replied to bordertown's topic in High School Sports
I saw this in the Dallas Morning News:' There will be stops — Martin in Abilene for some game-day weight lifting, for example, and Independence in Sulphur Springs for a walkthrough — pre and postgame meal reservations for parties of more than 100 people, and communication about departure and arrival to parents, the band and other support groups.
