  1. Thompson is a competitor, of course, he has the reigns pulled back so tight by the JT staff that he plays with his hands tied at times. Id still pick him to best any good receiver in a 4 quarter matchup. Caldwell will definitely go bonkers if he's any good because no one else in the JT secondary has the talent to overcome the poor coverage assignments. JT is so bad at gap protection if Givens is anything like Bryson he may run for 300 and 3 TDs by himself.
  2. Don't know. I guess the staff thinks these are 60, 70, and 80's players. #sooutoftouch
  3. Thompson can handle Wren one on one with no problem. Who else Horn got? I say that with reserve because the JT coaches have a tendency to stunt their players efforts with all the vocal noise.
  4. I can see JT putting up a tremendous effort defensively to slow down Givens but I can also see Givens torching the JT secondary. JT plays super support with the secondary because JT's front 7 has several weak spots, up the middle and on the edge just to name a few spots. Lol. If Givens can't run for 100 he will throw for 300 plus if he has good receivers. JT's offense is still trying to develop an identity in Week 9 which has several fans asking, what was being done from the end of last season to the start of this season? I try not to question the coaching simply because the answers always come to the light on Friday nights. Point blank, JT is a dysfunctional team right now and dsyfucntion can be dangerous but it's most definitely inconsistent. If Horn loses to JT, I'm going to spend the entire week telling everyone how terrible a team Horn is. Lol!
  5. To the Mesquite Horn coaches please don't PREPARE your players for the game this week. Take a page from the JT staff and PREPARE to do a bunch of finger pointing during the game.
  6. JT can match Horn in the TALENT department but PREPARATION will get Horn the win. It's a must win game but JT players will look lost on both sides of the ball and will be calling for the old folks in the stands to fire them up...so UN-cujo like.
  7. JT can beat anyone in 12-6A except for Woodlands. Woodlands players play up to the expectations of their program.
  8. If JT makes the playoffs this district is going 1-3 in the first round.
  9. Neither Woods nor Warren or speedsters. Warren is the better passer hands down. He just has this notion he has to be a runner. He was moving the chains with the under routes then all of a sudden every route goes deep and he gets sacked or stopped for a short gain. Who called that ####! I damn sure didn't. Lol! Was it you 99? Don't lie Craig! Lol!
  10. Not one team in 11-6A would win it all in 5A, 1 or 2.
  11. If a player has a low ceiling he shouldn't be a starter for a program with a high ceiling. If the coach of a program with a high ceiling plays a player that can't get it done or doesn't follow instruction, is that the player's fault? Who put the player with the low ceiling on the field to represent a program with a high ceiling?
  12. Kids not getting it done and not following instructions sounds like an EVALUATION and PREPARATION issue.
  13. You are mistaking game time intensity for a winner's passion. 56 wins at the high school level is comparable to shopping for plums at the supermarket. Looks sweet from the outside but the true test comes when you bite in to it.
  14. I think the current JT staff has run its course. Time for a complete change. No hold overs. Bring in some fresh faces with passion for the game.
  15. Win or lose, I'm done if JT's senior laden defense gives up more than 4 TDs.
  16. If JT DC can't disrupt a Sophomore QB, the game has passed him by. LV don't have the offense to run off a win.
  17. I fear JT's DC being outwitted by a Sophomore QB...smdh!
  18. Bush graduated and Maddox was next up so no big decision by Brooks on that one. Playing TH may have been a tough one because of the familiarity but NO schedule is tougher than playing Longview, Lee, and Lufkin twice in one season. That's 6 losses for any team with 36 varsity players at the then 5A level. Again, Brooks was left with a good number of seniors so he should have gone 10-0 but the stage was too big for him. Holmes was also left with a Ferrari his first year, plus, for 6 seasons the district was a cake walk.
  19. 35 points in 2002 wasn't anything to brag on. JT averaged in the 40s during its run in the 90s running 90% of the time. As bad as the offense was for JT during the Ratliff years, where are the multiple times those defenses gave up 50 plus? When did a Ratliff defense give up 70 plus? Keep in mind the Katy defense in 2015 had 10 shutouts against spread teams so let's not get into HOW difficult it is to stop the spread, that's BS. BTW, Brooks benefited from a senior team constructed by Ratliff. The next year Brooks went 4-7 and left Rush with a 1-9 team.
  20. Everybody takes shots at Ratliff but none of Ratliff defenses gave up the points the teams are giving up now. Ratliff was a three time champ as a DC. Had he been given the time, JT may have a few more championships in 4A and 5A. JT may have even become a legitimate contender in 6A.
