  1. Fennegan's season stats are passing- 168-287 2,742 yds 37 TDs 8 Ints and 304 yds rushing 6 TDs in 13 games...nearly identical to last years stats in 12 games. Melissa has had 16 different players score offensive TDs this year so Sam has lots of weapons to work with.
  2. She's a little hotter than Aubrey, but ALOT hotter than Anna or Celeste, but I like em thick so not sure if she's hotter than Big Sandy.
  3. I just do not see any way this will not be great ball game. Looks like 2 evenly matched teams and the predictions I've seen so far are about a 50/50 split. This one will be a war in the trenches and the battle between the SVille OL and the Melissa DL will be the main matchup to watch IMO. Melissa D overall has played really well since week 3 but has been vurnerable to the deep pass when facing teams with a QB that can sling it. SVille looks to be one of those teams so this has a potential to be a high scoring game, but thinking nowhere near the 65-58 shootout won be Melissa last years when the teams ran 65+ plays each and combined for 1,300+ total yeards. I think the winner of this faces Austin LBJ for the title in 2 weeks. Weather looks to be perfect and really looking forward to this game.
  4. From what I've hear there will be no livestream, but perhaps that will change for those who want to watch. I'll be there in person. I'm starting a game thread.
  5. Sounds like that’s a great ball game. Melissa up on LaVega 38-7 1 min left in 3rd. Complete domination from the start. LV has 18 yds rushing.
  6. Melissa was up 36-0 w/ 9 min left 2nd quarter and unloaded the bench. Gave up 2 quick TDs and now 36-13 at half. Pulled starters way too soon. They need to stay in at least a half if not 3 quarters. The Cards have a bunch of injured players and seems like there is a severe fear of additional injuries. Melissa seems to have completely lost their mojo and edge the past few weeks on offense although 1st team still playing lights out shutdown ball.
  7. It's playoff time with a bunch of games kicking off tonight. Regions I, III & IV looks like they will have some decent 1st round matchups however Region II is blowout city, but there are some possible very interesting 2nd round matchups Stephenville- Paris, Keenedale-Argyle, Melissa-Midlo Heritage & Kaufman-La Vega. What are the guesses as to who will be playing in Arlington in December?
  8. Melissa up 14-0 half. The backup QB ran 39 yd for a TD. D has bent but has not broke. Kaufman been inside Melissa 20 2 times with no points.
  9. Fennigan is out tonight. I was told he cleared to to play but being held out.
  10. Melissa jumped out to a very early 22-0 lead midway thru the 1st q then went into dis-interested cruise control mode The Cards were inside the Terrell 10 yd line 2 times in 2nd q and came away with NO points. Missed a FG then Fennegan got sacked and fumbled and never returned. Terrell scored 2 TDs in the game. 1st one w/ less than 30 sec left in 1st half and 2nd one on a 26 yd TD run on final play of game with Melissa backups in. Melissa outgained Terrell 388-198. 125 of those Terrell yards came on the 2 TD drives. The Tigers played physical and spirited on their senior night. They did not roll over despite being down early and IMO would be a playoff team in most all other 4A D1 districts. Fennigan will play this week against Kaufman this week.
  11. Terrell turned in 1400+ so they will also be moving up to 5A. I think SS will move east nad Kaufman on an island now. They could stay in a Metroplex district or go east, west or south LOL. A key factor for matroplex area 4As is the 2 new Frisco schools Emerson & Panther Creek...will they use actual numbers that would keep them 4A or projected numbers that will push them to 5A.
  12. Melissa turned in 1317 so likely going 5A along with Argyle (1342) but if the 4A/5A jumps by close to 90 like many think it will...it's gonna be really really close
  13. Backup is tiny. 5 ft 7 maybe 5 ft 8. Fast and good athlete but not much of a passer. Just marched down the field .. all runs . Cards up 29-7
  14. Melissa up 22-7 on Terrel at half. Fennegan out At QB w/ injury . Doesn’t appear to be serious but he looks finished tonight.
  15. Kaufman and Anna may be moving to 5A as well. Ranchview will stay put and will likely be placed with Dallas ISD schools where they can be competive. Just 2 years ago they were in a DISD district+ Alvarado and finished 9-1 in reg season b4 getting thumped by Celina in 1st round. ...unless because Frisco has 2 new high schools opening in the fall that may go 4A D1 and then could possibly see district like this... Celina (likely moves up) Anna (50/50 chance moving to 5A) Paris (unless UIL moves them East) Ranchview Frisco Emerson Frisco Panther Creek Thanking Argyle will be 5A with Fort Worth area schools and will destroy them all in every sport.
  16. I can assure you Melissa's 'numbers' were correct the last time they were run Oct 2019 for the 2020/2021 realignment cycle as they were the time before that. Melissa has yet to have a graduating class over 250 and this years Freshman class was the 1st one over 300. Do the simple math how you gonna have over 971 kids 2 years ago?? Nearly all the growth has occured in the past 2 years. I put the contarct on my new build house in Melissa in Oct 2017, moved in in June 2018 and there was nothing out here but a couple neighborhoods and open fields. In the past 2 years every piece of land pretty much now has been developed and has rooftops going up to the tune of 22 builders constructing 600+ homes in Melissa ISD in 2020 alone. The crazy thing is we paid $352K all in final price on an oversized lot in 2018 and now the exact same builder building the exact same floorplan on a much smaller lot size starting at $519K. And people still moving out here in massive swarms with one builder in our hood selling inventory homes well over $700K.
  17. Looks like could end up in a 3 way tie for the last 2 playoff spots in 4A D1-7 between Paris, Kaufman and Anna unless there are some big upsets the last 2 weeks. Melissa defeated Ranchview 70-0. Ranchview finished the game with 1 first down and negative 13 yards of offense and that happened against Melissa 2s and 3s on D that came in midway thru the 2nd quarter when Melissa went up 49-0. Ranchview may be the worst 4A team I've ever seen.
  18. VA has some nice skill players with a good QB, but they are going to get smacked around in the trenches. Celina by 38.
  19. Shout-out to Lubbock Roosevelt for making the rankings! Have they ever been ranked before?? In 2017-2018 they went a combined 1-19 now they are sitting here at 7-0 having outscored opponents 351-14. Their schedule has been light but that is impressive and the overall turnaround has been extremely impressive. They have a big game against a very good #9 Abernathy tonight. Good luck to Roosevelt.
  20. Your rankings are always solid, but that dang 10 spot in 4A D1 is a tough one. I gotta think Anna is more deserving of that spot than WF Hirschi seeing how they beat the Huskies by 2 TDs an Anna's 3 losses were to teams 3, 4 & 8 and what good teams has Hirschi even played? Heck LaVega maybe more be more deserving op the 10 spot as they have only lost to teams ranked 1, 2 & 4. One thing for sure, the losing curse of the 10th ranked team will end this week as Hirschi ain't losing to Gainesville.
  21. It’s 7-7 at the half. Paris has been run run and run. Terrell has less than 60 yards offense but has a TD pass.
  22. I agree that will be a skinning of the Coyotes. Anna is better and I think with the new head coach Anna could be a really solid program in a couple more years...but not yet. The last 3 games between these teams have ended 47-0, 40-7 & 50-14. Last years game was 50-0 in the 3rd quarter and then a running clock the rest of the way, thinking something like Melissa 48 Anna 19. About Paris at Terrell. Now quite sure what to think about this matchup. I'm sure it will be close game, but Paris just did not look good to me against Melissa. The Cats are too one dimensional on offense ..stop the run and they are done. The QB seems like he has a good accurate arm but there are just no WRs for some reason. The only passes they complete seem to be to the stable of talented RBs out a the backfield. I'll go with the Tigers at home to win by 4 and that effectively ends Paris playoff hopes baring a miracle win over Argyle.
  23. Coach Xs thoughts on Friday's Highway 5 chick-fight between Melissa & Anna were classic. I can give my insight on Melissa's 0-2 start. I think in an earlier episode a couple weeks ago it was said Celina has a blow-out win over Melissa. That was not the case as it was 13-13 with 3 min left in the 3rd. The Bobcats are a very very talented and experienced team and they pulled away after that. Frisco Memorial is not as bad as you made them out to be. They had a stud QB (that is now injured) 2 D1 WRs and a beast on the DL. Memorial is in the toughest 5A D2 district in TX and will likely finish in 5th out of 9 teams. They would be a sure playoff team in almost any other district. The Cards secondary got torched all night but the 58 not as bad as it appears, as they gave up a kickoff return for a TD and a pick 6 with less than a minute left in the game. The score was 35-35 with 2 min left in the 3rd. There were way too many penalties and poor coaching desions to go for it and not convert on 4th down on their own end of field multiple times. In both these games Melissa just ran out of gas at the end, and the DBs made lot's of mistakes. You could flashes of a great team but it just wasn't all coming together. The Dallas Carter game was a bit of a turning point but hard to get too exited about playing a DISD team. Carter is far from a great team but they will likely finish the reg season 8-1 and Melissa absolutely demolished tham. At one point late in 3rd q Cards had outgained them 470 to negative 10. After the Heritage game it was clear Melissa was gelling and then Paris never had a chance. I think the only way melissa loses again this season is via the pass. I know Stephenville will be up to the task and Arygle appears to have made a successful QB change last week against Anna. Speaking of Anna they like to sling the ball around and so does Kaufman so those games could be interesting.
  24. Think you can probably take Paris off that list. The Cats lost to Anna 18-7 Friday. Way too one dimensional on offense. They will likely have to beat Kaufman to even have a chance at playoffs. Agree about district 5 threesome. The games between SVille, Heritage and LV gonna be slugfests.
