The Lorena/Yoakum game was a no doubter from the opening kickoff. Complete domination by the Leopards. Lorena is playing some scary good football.

Great game LRA. Congratulations on the win. I expected more out of Hitchcock. So far LRA and Lorena are showing the state how tough district 11 plays ball. Franklin/Halletsville and Rockdale/Columbus tee it up tomorrow night. Good luck and stay injury free.

The weather will benefit the team that can protect the ball and the team that can run between the tackles. That includes the individual on the sideline in charge of rotating dry balls in for their offense. A job often overlooked.

It’s game day for Lorena/Yoakum and Little River Academy/Hitchcock. Looks like there is very good chance rain and a north wind could be a factor tonight. I always hate to see the weather being a factor in an outcome of a game. Which team could the weather affect the most? Safe travels for all headed to College Station.

The article doesn’t give the age of the HC. My guess is that he hasn’t been a HC prior. He’s probably fairly young and hasn’t learned yet how to handle these parents. The answer to everything for the youngsters nowadays is to walk away. An older seasoned HC would not be tolerating such nonsense from these parents. After hearing from a few of these mamas and papas he would call a meeting and “explain “ how the wood is going to be chopped.

Franklin 28-21 Rockdale 42-14 Yoe 28-21 My thoughts are LRA will give Franklin all they want. Rockdale will be on cruise control in the 4th. Troy will keep it close early and maybe even leading at the half. Yoe will hopefully have enough pride to pull it out in the 4th. Congratulations to Lorena. The Leopards earned the district crown.

63-21 Franklin 42-14 Lorena 28-21 Academy

This has been the most frustrating season as a Yoe football fan I have had in years. Not sure where the blame should be placed. Just not going there. This being a rivalry game, a district game, the bell on the line and an opportunity to control your own destiny for a fourth place finish. The Yoemen come out twiddling their thumbs. No energy at alll. Now next on the schedule is Franklin. Can it get much more uglier. Serenity now…Serenity now

35-28 Franklin Lorena has Porter back and they are starting to get healthy. Hard to go against Franklin. The Lions know how to win the close ones. 42-14 Academy 42-28 Yoe Yoe is going to give up some yards. The front seven has yet to figure out they are playing tackle football. Offensively on a positive note looks like the Yoemen may have found their future running back. The Yoe offense does have the ability to score from anywhere on the field.

Section 1208 (i): MINIMUM PENALTY FOR MISCONDUCT (1) Automatic Minimum Penalty. Any coach who is ejected from a contest for unsportsmanlike conduct, or any football coach who is given two or more 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalties during a contest may accept an automatic penalty for their ejection or appeal the ejection. A coach who appeals their ejection is required to appear before the State Executive Committee. If the coach accepts their automatic penalty or their ejection is not overturned on appeal, the coach will be subject to: (A) an automatic penalty of public reprimand (name will be published once in the Leaguer) and one year’s probation in the applicable sport; (B) completing the National Federation of State High School Associations Fundamentals of Coaching Course; and (C) completing the nation federation of state high school associations Teaching and Modeling Behavior Course. (2) Automatic Greater Penalty. If a coach so penalized has no proof of having completed the UIL Coaches Certification Program prior to the sports season, that coach shall also be automatically suspended from the next game/contest. (3) Subsequent Violations. Any further ejection or accumulation of two 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalties during a football game while on probation, will require the coach to appear before the State Executive Committee for consideration of penalty. (4) Notification. Schools shall notify the UIL within three school days if a coach has been ejected from a game or received two 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalties. Kids interpretations are not always spot on. He was placed on 2 day administration leave. Back at practice on Wednesday.

There was a school board meeting Monday night. Nothing about a resignation of any coach was reported. Coach Rick Rhoades was at practice this morning coaching the varsity.

Yoe 45/ LRA 35 Lorena 56/ McGregor 13 Troy 35/ Rockdale 28

The Franklin / Rockdale score had me scratching my head. Franklin must have substituted it’s JV in for this matchup. The Lorena / Academy game was actually a very competitive game. Lorena just wore Academy out. No surprises in the Troy / McGregor game.

Franklin 56 Rockdale 6 Troy 28 McGregor 21 Little River 31 Lorena 28 Yoe has a bye getting healed up.

2. Yoemen defense better improve and improve quickly in all phases or they may end up 4th in district. Offense notthat impressive either in the last 3 games. Hope the playcalling has been holding back for district to start. I agree the defense needs some shoring up. The running game is nonexistent. The play calling has been plain vanilla. Not sure if the running game will get any better. What will help is that the Yoemen are done with the 2 top five 4a d2 teams of Waco Connaly and Bellville. What sits in front of them next is Lorena. Doesn't get much easier. I think the Yoemen will show more on offense and I believe the defense will make the necessary adjustments. Fingers crossed.

Franklin will have no trouble with McGregor. If Yoe had the predistrict schedule of Troy, Academy, McGregor and Rockdale. (Rockdale did schedule Jim Ned who seems to be playing better ball this year.) The Yoemen would be undefeated going into district. Yoe schedule was with 2 top 5 4a teams and a top 10 team in 3a. I tip my hat to Franklin and Lorena for scheduling 4a teams that are competitive in their regions. This is Franklins district to win. Hopefully 2nd place will be up for grabs. Let the second season begin.

Looking forward to having the Brahmas at Yoe Field. Always a well coached team. The Brahmas have been a hand full lately. The Yoemen have won a few battles not too long ago. Always enjoyed the matchup. I hope both teams stay healthy as district starts next week.

I haven’t had a chance to hear the discussion. I take it he’s still pushing Hitchcock. The talent Hitchcock has returning it’s very easy to lean that way. We know differently.

A good slot t offense is like a boxer throwing body blows it eventually just wears a defense down. Franklin is a great slot t offense. They have been running that scheme for many years.

Yes that state game against Brock was a battle but in my opinion the Columbus game was between the 2 top teams. The Franklin Lions definitely earned the title.

You’re exactly right. It’s how the coach assemblies that talent and how he utilizes it. There were some teams much more talented than the Yoemen were during their state championship runs. The coaching was the difference.

Hitchcock is returning 9 offensively and 9 defensively. There are allot of 3a coaches that would love to have that returning. I know of at least one.
