Dont know much about Pitt. What are their strengths? Defense/ Offense? What do they run? Would really like to go to this game, but have not been able to go to many games due to work.

I am curious as to what is happening on the defensive side of the ball in McGregor. I thought the new coach was a Defensive minded guy.

Well boys, Im betting all will pick Grandview in this one, but I gotta ask which McGregor team will show up? They either score 40+ points or cant score but 7. Whats the deal in Bulldog Country? Are they just that young? Injuries? Bad schemes? They did make the playoffs just barely last year, but then got blown out in the first round. So all that being said, I will go with the underdog here. Grandview may be loaded and disciplined in their approach, but maybe, just maybe the Bulldogs are poised to have a 60+ point game. I will say that the defense has not been stellar so maybe a 60+ point game is what it will take.

Clearly Teague did not lose that much. Or is McGregor just that bad? Looking at their schedule, it looks as though they scheduled all smaller schools at the beginning of their schedule. It clearly did not get them ready for such a competitive 3A District? Teague is right in the middle of the playoff hunt, especially with West falling to Whitney. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe it is just Maypearl and McGregor who are left out of the playoff picture at this point.

If Teague wins tonight they should lock up at least 4th correct? With the talent Teague still has on the roster, I think they should be able to roll the BullDogs who are riddled with youth and inexperience in way too many positions.

What is happening in West? Everyone was writing them off earlier this season and now they are the District leader! Do they have a chance to run the table going into the playoffs? Great story here.

I knew Coach Byrd would have an impact on the Wildcat program, but man, was I surprised! The Bulldogs had no answer for the Wildcats and for as many points as the Bulldogs put up early, Im guessing that is due to playing smaller schools as these past two weeks the scheme has been exposed. Proud of Coach Byrd and the Wildcats, keeping those playoff dreams alive!

Interesting, is Maypearl THAT good? historically, I didnt think they were that dominant. I think West will shock some people.

AND? question didnt say who had the best helmets after 16 games......who had the best helmets. I like their helmets. Plus if you are playing that 16th then you can be allowed to have your helmets however you want!

Really curious to see how Whitney does in this district! I know they lost a close one to Robinson last week, but considering they have a new coach with a new way of doing things, I feel they are off to a great start! Rumor has it that the QB didnt play the whole game last week but would come in and just march it down the field when able. Not sure if sick or what? Coach Byrd has a great scheme and I feel they could take advantage of a McGregor team that might be down or questioning themselves a little after last week. How does everyone see this shaking out? Excited about finally having district start!

Well, after a relentless attack by McGregor on the Marlin Bulldogs last week and Mart pounding the Boys of Bosqueville, how does everyone see this shaping up?

I believe it was a year or maybe two ago, the whole city couldnt use its water due to some maintenance issues and it impacted the quality of the water for some time. Even other area schools were donating water bottles to Marlin at that time.

Well, this is the first game week and I am praying for this historic program. I know numbers are down due to everything from TEA rating to water issues in city over the past several years. Any hope for this program this year to make another playoff run? How young will they be? I believe they play McGregor this week, who is also young but their numbers should be much higher than Marlins. Whats the take?

Yes! absolutely! He does a great job and really understands the game. I know he has always believed in developing players and understands how important linemen are.
