  1. Alright ladies and gentlemen. Game Day Eve!!! Bonfire was awesome. Big crowd, inspirational speech by Coach Meeks, and the band provided the sound track. Cheerleaders did great and that place rocked a long time after the event was officially over! Work is done; hay is in the barn. WE. ARE. READY.
  2. Progress Defensive Player of the Week Photo courtesy of Beverly Milner Alto linebacker Cayle Irvin is the Progress Defensive Player of the Week for Week 11. Irvin fueled the Yellowjacket defense by coming up with 14 tackles and three tackles for loss in Alto's 50-15 win over Union Grove. The Alto defense held the Lions to 132 total yards in the game. https://www.jacksonvilleprogress.com/sports/progress-defensive-player-of-the-week/image_b04173c2-04ba-11ea-934c-87e164e43ae6.html
  3. Y’all are cracking me up with the espionage would-be Belichick tactics! it’s called Hudl!
  4. I checked and you are right. 9-3 in 2007 and the last time they advanced past the first round. That’s shocking when you really think about it. I’m pulling for them to win 2 and advance to round 3! I think Timpson will be a tough out but if they can get by them, who knows! It could happen. I’m going with Groveton 27-14.
  5. When is the last time Groveton won a playoff game?
  6. I was a little surprised Mount stayed in the Top 10 with the loss last week. I realize their main player didn't play, but 52-24 was a pretty big L.
  7. TONIGHT! Bonfire at 7:30 to kick off the playoffs in downtown Alto behind the Dollar General and Family Dollar! Band, cheer, and football will all be there!
  8. You didn’t vote in the poll! It’s Harleton so far. But probably you are being sarcastic!
  9. Playoff t-shirts arrive on Wednesday! 342 pre-orders in 3 days!!!....plus 30 extra to just sell. That’s up from 225 last year. Alto folks love their football every year......but especially in a 10-0 season with a huge senior class! Excitement is through the roof! Thursday night can’t get here soon enough!
  10. RED ZONE TOP 10 Red Zone Top 10 Bi-District round of the playoffs: These are the teams you don’t wanna miss By Caleb Beames | November 12, 2019 at 11:59 AM CST 6. Alto (10-0) Last Week: 8 – Alto moves up in the standings after a 50-15 win over Union Grove. The Yellowjackets are looking to give San Augustine a run for their money in the 2A Region III bracket. First, they have to get by Cayuga. That game will be Thursday at the Tomato Bowl in Jacksonville. https://www.kltv.com/2019/11/12/red-zone-top-bi-district-round-playoffs-these-are-teams-you-dont-wanna-miss/

  12. That’s great! I read he went out during the Deweyville game. He must be a play maker. Glad he gets to return to help his team.
  13. I’m going with Joaquin to avenge the earlier loss in the season. Hard to think that a Shelbyville team who started the season 7-1 could possibly lose the last 3 games of the season in a row. Kind of puts a damper on an otherwise successful season. Do most/all of the basketball players play football? Are those who do not play football already practicing basketball? Curious.
  14. USA! USA! USA! THANKFUL for all veterans and their families and blessed to live in this great land. I have maxed out on “likes” for today or I would react to every single one of you!
  15. Big Red rolls and sets up a re-match with Centerville (unless Big Sandy upsets Centerville, which I’m all for!). Then in a throwback game to yesteryear it’s ALTO/GROVETON Round 3! That’s the way I have my bracket filled out anyway.
