Yeah, I'm pretty sure they would be ineligible for 1 year. Once you chose to attend out of your own district you are ineligible one year. Then you return, you lose the next year.

Tim Buchannan's 8 rings as HFC is probably more impressive. Surratt is right there behind him. I have seen schools list how many state championships, but a list of most rings as a hfc coach would be interesting.

I had to look up who Ken Purcell was since he was commentating on the state championship games. He is touted as winning 12 rings. Did he ever coach a championship as a head coach?

Last year's score was 79-45 at Chapel Hill. Why should it be much different? Away game for CH.

I have been at several 3a schools that had a girls coor. They coordinated and suggested girl hires to AD/HFC. The AD was their boss. I know PP had girls coordinators for many years prior to Danny David. I think it was WHO, and how, not just the position.

"Under the advice of the school attorney, we gave him a 1 year probationary contract" . That tells you what you need to know. No supt with any football sense extends the HFC coach for 1 year unless there is a problem. Either there is a HFC problem, or there is a lack of knowledge on how to run athletics by the supt. Since the supt wrote a letter, to defend himself, I'm betting its him. He wont last long with that school board.

The letter posted was from the district's facebook website. I don't know very many HFC that would take a 1 year contract unless they knew they were on the way out.

Betting there is some confusion with Austin Crockett. 2 losing seasons doesn't put you in the Alamodome.

Just taking a guess that admin reasoning might be" if the boss isn't qualified to run an off-season program, who on staff is capable?" Also, who on staff would want to be put in the position to take it over when the guy that did 400 pushups got fired and he hired you!

So what they are looking at is, who was ranked the highest by recruiting services coming out of hs since 2000. So, that would eliminate great high school players who were not projected to be great college players. It also eliminates great players in college who were not projected to be great college players. So, this is basically a list of players who had the greatest potential coming out of hs according to recruiting services. This kind of stuff is boring.

Was retired from Crockett. 3 months later he took the Dawson job. A bit of a controversial coach at times but just let 259 wins soak in.... I think he had a winning record at every school except possibly Mt Pleasant.

Pali was 3rd in 2021. Defeated CH at their place. Henderson lost to Kilgore by 1 in 2021. Lost to Lindale by 7. There is NOT a huge difference between the schools in district. Some on here would like to act snooty about how good their teams are. In reality, 2022 was a down year for Henderson and Palestine.

Would love to see the the Van team that nearly lost to Bullard play CH now. Some teams get better through the season, some get get worse.

Good football is good football at any level. If you are really good in 1A you can beat alot of 2A and even some 3A schools. Just go up the ladder. Who ever is in top 10 of 4A (CH) can play with mediocre 5A and 6A schools. There is a valid point about having the depth of larger schools and having to play that schedule. That is tough. Remember when SLC moved from 4A , after winning state, to 5A and won the state championship? Remember when Celina won the 2A state championship and then won the 3A the next year? Why don't more interclassification games occur? Why would Henderson schedule Franklin? Why would Tyler legacy schedule CH? Too much respect to lose and very little to gain. You also have sub varsity games to match up. When a smaller school doesn't have "B" teams or freshmen a and b or soph team or a jv team, that creates problems.

This thread is about a problem where there is no problem. School shooting have caused more injuries and deaths than coaches driving buses. Heck, Covid killed more students than tired coaches driving buses.
