  1. We fans appreciate that our team has finally been ranked in the top ten, but would just prefer that folks keep sleeping on us as we quietly work through our season. The Boys are stoked with the ranking but know the only ranking that matters is when the last game is played. They will just keep their heads down and working until they finish the job they all started when they were in 8th Grade. This has been a team that is growing into what could be history in Diboll. Time, hard work and luck will tell. Go Jacks.
  2. DIboll has the same RB, QB , Recievers and much of our defense returned from last year. Some rookies on the O line and D line, but they are good ones. The Bench is stout too and comes in strong. We have a team that is finally growing into their uniforms and just look to get better through the season. It is good to have our D1 prospect back in the Defense and contributing on Offense, but its the team as a whole that took the win last week. Jasper is a tough team and a good opponent, we learned some things and showed some things. We are just going to take it one game at a time and do our best to to try and be the best. We take each team as they come. We are going to stay humble and hard working like a good Lumberjack should, just a swingin that axe and getting the job done. Go Jacks
  3. Well all that Stuff is real interesting, but the only thing that is going to matter is what the team on the field can do on that night. I really hope that Franklin doesnt feel like they walked all over Diboll, cause that would just make a good team seem a little less in the character department, they have some good athletes but so did Diboll and the game was a lot closer than even the score would seem to indicate. The boys on the field acknowledged that. But for a few great runs by #38, and more passing by Diboll, the score might have been a lot closer and Diboll might still be undefeated. All that said, Congrats to Franklin for the District Title, but dont get to used to holding it cause it will reside in Diboll next year FO SHO. On to the Play Offs. Dont really care that nobody gives Diboll their props, but maybe after they get over the first game hump, folks will see that they have a quality program and quite a few athletes. A shout out to Crockett, did the refs in Franklin cause yall to have 60 put up on ya, just wondering...Do good in yalls game against EC cause we look forward to seeing yall again and Franklin, win out cause we would sure like a rematch. Good luck to all teams in our District. Go Jacks tonight against Buna in Jasper, this is good hitting weather and will be the first time in many weeks that Diboll will have a decent field to play on..Looking forward to Rollin Thunder and some lightning strikes from the air. Go Jacks.
  4. Hopefully, Diboll has learned not to take anyone for granted and will have a Lumberjack like attitude going into this game. If we can have a dry field and dry football, should see plenty of Rolling Thunder and some Lightning from the air. Everyone is feeling healthy and seems to have their mind right to play to their potential. Should be a good game. Expect to see Westwood play tough but I feel we should get the win. Last week was a much better outing for the Jacks but we still showed some areas that we need to tighten up before we see Franklin. Jacks need to be playing smart through the whole game, reduce our penalties, hold on to the ball, accurate passing, don't get burned on Defense and play hard all four quarters. That's how Champions are made. Never let up and Never back down...Go Jacks.
  5. Boys will be Boys, talkin...Part of the game. If they back it up then it wont matter, but if not, then maybe they learn to talk with their pads instead of their mouths. Football is the greatest sport cause it can teach a lot of life lessons, like dont run your head too reckless when you dont really know who you might be talking to. I know that the Diboll fans are looking forward to a great game with Franklin. Hopefully both teams play their best and give all of us a good show. But this week we got to TCB with Elkhart..Go Jacks....
  6. I wont comment on this any further cause, I aint playin the game, just watchin...But I bet the Diboll team aint going to get worse as the season goes on and they prolly aint hit their full stride yet either. So we shall see....Go Jacks
  7. Hit the nail on the head. They came out thinking Coldspring was going to just lay down and take a beating. Coldsping showed them that they have to play everyone like its the district championship. Coldspring had the momentum of a district win, homecoming and homefield, makes for a lot of emotion and they always play Diboll tough, usually winning. Diboll showed no emotion and no urgency. We did have some key folks missing but that doesn't excuse poor performance by the other starters. Play calling might also be a part, because there seems to be a fascination with a single running back always up the middle and then throwing the long ball down the field. Had a key offensive lineman out on the right side but we kept running that way anyway. We have a great heavy package that's almost unstoppable, but we only used it with consistency near the end of the game. Give the "Mack truck" a rest every once in a while or some extra blocking on the Old School sweep, its worked forever in football and we have the players to execute it to perfection. That will open up off side passes and fakes for the QB and receivers. Get a few completions under the QB's belt, he will settle down and can then drop em in like he has shown he can do in the past. This Diboll team is young and hungry, but they have to keep their heads down and plow forward from here on out. We all feel they are headed to a showdown with Franklin for the District Title, but they need to also win out the rest of the games. I think they are still the team to beat (Just my opinion). Go Jacks....
  8. To address CrockettDogs, I agree that the Diboll QB had an off night, just like the rest of the Team, probably had nothing to do with having several key players (offense and defense) either walking wounded or on crutches. Don't forget how the Crockett game went, we got the "Dub" with running AND PASSING. We got it again this week, even though it was ugly. Not being prideful, not trying to hate, but facts are facts. Talking noise on team that beat you, is bad form. Good luck to you and maybe we see each other around playoff time. Regarding the Lumberjacks as a whole; they are kids and kids listen to talk, so they were buying all the Hype about how good they are and all that mess. They had a lack luster week of practice and it showed on the field Friday night. A game like that, will awaken a fire that will cause the kids (and the Coaches) not to take anyone for granted. They will adopt a "take no prisoners" attitude. I strongly believe the Team they are supposed to be, will show up each game from here on out. The Defense will play lights out with the strong pass rush and the run stopping power they have had. The Offense will continue with the "Rolling Thunder from the Woodshed". As far as the passing attack goes, the QB will work hard on his accuracy and the receivers will run their routes like they mean it. That will result in more completions and points. Oh and by the way the QB can can run a little too, if needed. All in all I believe they are on a collision course with Franklin for the District Title and I doubt they let anyone get in their way (just MY opinion). This young team is hungry to make their mark, they have a lot of pride and character, so sit back and watch them work, it should be fun. Go Jacks....
  9. Well, it's about time for the real games to start and with Crockett first on the chopping block, we will see what the Lumberjacks are made of. At Liberty, we had some issues with the run game cause of the footing but we still pounded the ball and if the storms hadn't stopped us, that game was about to get out of control for the Liberty boys. They had a top defensive player who found out what it was like to watch the game from his back because our O line finally got #### and started matching his dirty play with strength and speed. The same will happen this week for Crockett's Number 3 nose guard. He looks good on film and has some technique, but so do the Jacks and its going to be rough for him, handling the O line and getting smashed in the face by our " Mack truck". As far as the passing game goes, both sides have the potential with Crockett having a little more experience at QB, but the Junior QB for the Jacks can sling it too. As long as the ball stays dry or at least not soaked, it could be an airshow Both Defenses will get a workout in the DB positions. Oh and by the way, the Jacks also have some 4A Regional qualifying speed at the QB, RB, WR and DB positions, so they ain't slow either. Now the Jacks D line and LB's will be the difference in the game. It will be hard for the Bulldog QB to complete passes, if he is running for his life every play and that's pretty much what has happened when the Jacks D is on the field. And if he takes it outside he will find out the containment is pretty tough too. Run defense is also our specialty. All in all, I think the fans will get to see a good District game, but the "Rolling Thunder and Lightning from the Woodshed" will prevail. Go Jacks...
  10. Well, with Diboll at 3-0 against non-district teams, they seem to be getting in a grove. Feel pretty sure the players know these are all warmups for when district begins though. The Defense has played lights-out with only 7 points scored in 3 games. The LB's and DE's have been off the chain. The run game is "Rolling Thunder from the Woodshed" but the last couple of games we saw some Lightning, in the form of #3 and #6. That adds a different dimension. The pass game is steadily improving as long as the O line will hold their blocks and let the young QB and his receivers work. QB got a good arm but needs to make good decisions and throws. The receivers have to run crisp and correct routes. Liberty this week might have some real physical challenges for the "Jacks" but if they play their game, then 4-0 will be the record. This team is mostly Juniors and they are hungry to see that end of season tournament, they have plenty of talent but experience and teamwork is what will get them through. "Jacks" fans look forward to every game and we don't mind the travel to watch our team, but it aint no secret we are really looking forward to the district games, to see what team we really have. The team seemed to come out a little slow in the second half against Cleveland, but could be due to having a substantial lead and feeling kind of comfortable. They need to keep their foot on the gas through the whole game and that will create the championship run we are looking for. Ready for Friday Night Lights tonight. Go Jacks...
  11. As predicted the "Rolling Thunder from the Wood Shed" was more than the Devils could handle. #20 ran like a full grown man and it was punishing at times. Good to see the run game is strong. Had some issues in the pass game, but that will come through repeated practice by the receivers and the QB. The QB is accurate and the receivers can get open. The run game will cause some openings in the future, that will eventually result in some lightning strikes from the air. Jacks seem to have a winning combination that will get better as the young players get more experienced through the season. GO JACKS...the Thunder Rolls....
  12. DIboll V. Huntington will be a good game because both Teams know each other and many of the boys have played ball together in Little League or other sports. Huntington has made some changes and might have a few surprises in store. Diboll's defense will be tough for the Red Devils to deal with though and the "O" is going to pound them with the run game. The Diboll QB and receivers had some good plays (watch KTRE Red Zone) against Bridge City and show some promise, they are all Juniors and will be there for two years. The pass game will become more important as the season goes on and defenses begin to adjust to the "Rolling Thunder from the Woodshed". Go Jacks...
