  1. Not trying to stir anything up on this, but I could have sworn that they all bought in back in his first year when they smoked the district and finished 6-0?!? They went 2-4 the following year and around the area we heard that he was losing the kids. I think their drop to 2A has definitely been a good thing for football even though their district got more competitive top to bottom. They've gutted out wins and are definitely a good team, I just hope it's not another roller coaster ride dipping again next year and causing 2nd guesses of a pretty good coach.
  2. District Standings: Daingerfield 4-0 Pewitt 3-1 Hooks 3-1 Chisum 2-2 Dekalb 2-3 Prairiland 1-3 Redwater 0-4 This week’s schedule: Prairiland @ Pewitt Dekalb @ Chisum Daingerfield @ Hooks Redwater - Open
  3. Last week Paul Pewitt Football did the live stream last week on their Facebook page, I'm sure they'll do it again.
  4. Yep, the winner of their game Friday takes the 4th seed. How about: PP by 8 DF by 45 Chisum by 3
  5. District Standings: Daingerfield 2-0 Pewitt 2-0 Dekalb 2-1 Chisum 2-1 Hooks 1-1 Prairiland 0-3 Redwater 0-3 This week’s schedule: Dekalb @ Pewitt Daingerfield @ Redwater Chisum @ Hooks Prairiland - Open
  6. Good for y'all but bad for the rest of us. I just heard that DF has a 6'2" 220lb running back on the 7th grade team too - WTH!!!
  7. So contain #3 to have a chance. Really how is it any different from year's past then? The last time we played DF was district back in 2015 and to my knowledge that was practically the same offense, QB doing it with his legs then throwing it up to big receivers.
  8. We'll take that - shock might just be holding tough with those Tigers and taking advantage of those turnovers!!
  9. @EastTxFinest- Does DF still run that Spread offense out of the gun that they ran 5 or so years ago when PL was last in district with y'all?
  10. Chisum has speed this year and a good 1/2 punch with #3 Price getting the majority of carries but then the bruiser #44 Worthy picking up tough yards up the middle. For PP they'll be able to move the ball on Chisum if they mix in a good bit of sweeps and off-tackle runs. Should be a good game, but PP wins by 2 TDs.
  11. Ha! Still beat the spread!! We can all agree that DF is going to have more athletes than PL, what the Pats have to do is control the line, don't turn the ball over and force a few DF turnovers. Ultimately they have to play flawless ball to have a chance of keeping it close. It can be done because these kids are buying into the system.
  12. Wow, predicted to not even score. We'll get on the board for sure. It'll be a better game than people think.
  13. I think they got their scare last week and they won't underestimate any of the teams they play the rest of the way. Bears by 3 TD's
  14. When they did the switch, they added a new concession stand too, so now there is one on each side of the field, but sub-varsity games only uses one of them on Thursday nights. There were a lot of things about that field that was horrible in the past, now it's looking really good. Add to that the baseball and softball fields that just got completed and new tennis courts currently being put in and the facilities are really good.
  15. How about: P-Land by 1 point Pewitt by 10 DK by 14
  16. I'm pretty sure I am the only P-Land poster around , haven't had much to post about but things are looking better for the Pats right now (district record doesn't show it yet, but eventually it will). As far as the stands go, about 12 or so years ago they flipped the field and turned the old home side into the visitor side, tore down the visitor bleachers and built new home bleachers. Nice facilities but the turf was #### until a few years ago when they replaced it.
  17. It'll definitely be a tough one for the Patriots, they played Dekalb well and surprised some people along the way, but in the end just couldn't get the extra yards they needed. It was a better showing by the O-Line and they'll need to step up even more this week. If the ground game can get rolling and the defense can make some plays - then there might be an upset, but they've got to protect the ball.
  18. It'll be a close 1st half but MV will run away with it in the 2nd half.
  19. I don't doubt that the have some big boys - Dekalb always seems to have those guys on their line to plug some holes. If the Patriots can come out the gate moving the ball, then they can make a game of it.
  20. Well like I said before last week's game for Prairiland, the team that can keep from turning the ball over and control the line of scrimmage will win this game too. Chisum did that last week to us by winning in the trenches and forcing 2 fumbles. If the Patriots have any chance at this game, they will have to get wins along the front. This will be a tough one for sure because Dekalb always has some hard-nosed players on that line who aren't scared to hit anybody. If the cards fall right, Prairiland can win in a close one, but if they can't move the ball early - then it'll be a long night.
  21. I wasn't too sure by the look of Redwater's previous scores. I really don't expect them to struggle either - just wishful thinking. Sure would like for that last game of the season against Hooks to be a battle for a playoff spot or a better seed.
