  1. Kudos to the coaches for sticking to their guns and making discipline a priority. Lord knows that has been an issue the last couple years. I never saw "arguably our best athlete" in the stands, so if he did choose to stay home and not support his team that is disappointing. I hope there is a good reason he wasn't there in support. I watched the Gladewater vs Jefferson film and I think we have a good chance. They are big in the middle of the offensive line but slow. The RB is a bowling ball but slow. #11 is a dude to keep an eye on but the QB doesn't have a strong arm. Lots of jump balls that 11 fights for and he is good at creating separation with his hands without drawing penalties. We should have too much speed for them offensively, so we should be good if we can get pressure up front defensively.
  2. Freshman won 14-6. JV won 40-0. Rolling clock in 3rd quarter.
  3. All I can think about is how different this game would look, if Plunk didn't run Kam off and he was still with this sophomore group in Atlanta! Not to mention Dowden who left for Carthage.
  4. There are three kids on varsity that have QB experience. Dickerson, Limbrick, and Riley. Saw Limbrick throw pregame against Redwater and he throws a very good ball. I believe Riley and even Owens on JV are more accurate than Harrison. That’s not Harrison’s strength but he is definitely a leader and a gamer.
  5. There was an open competition for every position except QB in the fall camp. Harrison was handed the position on day 1. The coaches obviously wanted a united locker room and that makes sense. But there are options on varsity and JV that don’t miss those open throws. If he struggles like that again in a close game it will be magnified.
  6. Atlanta 32 RW 16 I believe: Easton Owens - 3TD Passes, DC Range- 2 TD runs, Marq Richardson- 1 TD Rec, and Braylyn Rowe 2 TD Rec. Atlanta JV Defense looked shaky against the run, because we just moved two more sophomore LB's up to Varsity.
  7. Atlanta JV 26 EF 0. 8 min quarters and 1:30 between plays. Felt like a 7th grade game. Hour drive for an hour game.
  8. This guy is a joke and a troll if I’ve ever seen one. Just signed up for this page Tuesday and making posts like this. You’re either one of two people: 1. A player who wasn’t good enough to start so you blame “daddy’s boy” for taking your spot. 2. A parent of a kid who wasn’t good enough to start so you blame “daddy’s boys” parents for taking your kids spot. Please speak of this influence you are referring to. Name names if you actually know what you’re talking about. I guarantee you can’t drop a single name.
  9. Atlanta Freshman-18 - Texas High B-0 Atlanta JV-28 - Daingerfield-0
  10. Playing Texas High Freshman B Team. We will have a freshman QB, RB, Lineman, and LB all playing with the JV this week though. So it won’t be the same freshman group playing this week that played last week.
  11. I’ve been telling you for two years this freshman class is the real deal. Makes it look even worse that another freshman is playing corner on varsity. But he did look like a freshman trying to guard MP’s stud receiver!
  12. Yea, I’m not talking about just winning games. I’m talking about GAME CHANGERS! Dickerson, a couple freshman, and there are a couple on that 8th grade team that have a chance at starting on varsity next year. There will be several scholarship players come out of that group in multiple sports. Everyone likes to hold on to the past and say no one can be better than we were. Better get your popcorn ready!
  13. I’m not sure I’d be saying “anytime soon”. Have you looked at the pipeline Atlanta has coming up? If you haven’t had a chance to watch the 8th grade group I’d suggest catching a game. They made LE fold before halftime last night. 32-0 at the half! The freshman class has a couple studs as well. And Dickerson is only a sophomore. In this classification all it takes is a few kids to make a run.
