  1. I will not get on here and bad mouth a coach, but I will say, yall should walk away with the distrcit title with the athletes you have. That being said, I think this backs up my previous statement about Huck and boys. They get it done with a bunch of boys that just play hard and believe in what they do, even if it does not include throwing the ball.
  2. That is what I thought, but he is a fan of both.
  3. Why does he have to be from Pewitt? He is a Hooks -D'field guy. I know our Coaches at Pewitt work all summer, they know what it takes to win. Even when we don't have the talent, we find a way to win. Do you think it may be our Coaches? I do, and I for one think we have some of the best around.;)
  4. Slikk, Glad to see you have not lost your fine sense of diplomacy!
  5. We have always tried to be decent folks. Many of us grew up supporting D'field in the playoffs, believe it or not. We used to be rivals, but not quite to the degree that we are now. Seems a little animosity nowdays.
  6. I dont know about kids moving from D'field to H.S. , but Pewitt has picked up a few elementary kids from Chapel Hill after they voted down football; At least that is what I hear. Tell me, is it true that Jared McKinney is not going to play football, to concentrate on Baseball?
  7. I have heard that it will either be Jordan McFarland-Soph or Dekevion Whetstone-Jr Both are really good athletes. Whetstone should start at FS and Jordan will take one of the LB spots. Neither of these 2 kids will quit, which was a problem last year with some of the players that have since departed. I know Cole is a Sr, but I have heard Burleson is much faster. Cole will get the Mike backer, he is a smart, salty kid.
  8. I hear from the folks in the know that the Soph's have really worked hard this off-season. I hear they are several of them running in the 4.6's. Not bad for Soph, imagine what they will do in the next few years. That FB, Burleson runs like a wild man. I had a friend tape a few of the JV games last year and he ran wild! I look for him to push Cole Smith, if not start in front of him, either way we have a another great FB. Huckabay has got to be one of the best coaches in the area. He does alot with what he has.
  9. that is impressive...but i can see that ending this upcoming season. I bet you would love to see the Bulls lose. I think they will make it through this year without a loss at home. Our boys take it pretty serious. Come on out and watch us, you might just become a fan. I bet your parents would like to see you back the blue. I find a way to back the tigers and bulls.
  10. Little disappointed in the #17 ranking, but after the debacle of last year we will take it.
  11. I think Pewitt will climb quickly up the poll. The Sophomore class is alot like the kids we had in 05 and 98. They have that kind of potential, but they are young. D'field is my favorite to win the district. We get them in D'field and they will be very motivated after last year. I will choose HS to take the other playoff spot.
  12. Has anyone heard anything about the hiring of a DC?
  13. I asked what they thought they may run and got nowhere. Always been a very tight lipped staff. I think the 3-5 fit their athletes, but I too like 4 down and 3 backers.
  14. Spread em' out...you got to be kidding!!! I would be surprised. Although, we will have a new defensive coordinator. I talked with one of the coaches today at the grocery store and he told me that Coach Godwin had gotten married and taken an AD job near his new wifes home in Oklahoma. He will be missed, but we wish him luck. The Coach, would not say anything about the new DC or the search for the new DC. I'm sure they wont miss a beat.
  15. I'm not trying to be ugly...but the QB last year was not real fast either. What? Teeter ran a 4.55, that is pretty dang quick!
  16. You are right, they sure stopped us last year. I guess we should not even show up, on second thought we will see you (kevo) this fall.
  17. ? That is news to me. We have a soph with good speed (4.6) and a decent arm, but they will not air it out, except pitch to the FB, TB, and HB.
  18. How did that happen? Pewitt's freshman (JV) team lost one game last year and it was to QC, they beat New Boston.
  19. Correct if I'm wrong, but haven't they won in that district without passing? I'm pretty sure we were co-champs: beating 3 of the 4 forementioned teams.
  20. On Offense Pewitt lost 4 and on Defense they lost 9. They will be fine. Defense will be made up of quite a few of the Sophomores, who have lost 2 games in 3 years. They are very athletic and very good. Furture is VERY bright in Brahma Land
  21. This week, #2 Vincent Williams lost his little sister in an ATV accident and #90 Toby Kourtney lost his father to brain cancer. Two fine young men need your prayers. Both funerals were held today and it is indeed a sad day at Pewitt.
  22. Yea, 36-6 over the last 3 years and we had better re-think our offensive scheme. Pewitt will be back next year and do the same thing and still win a ton of games. The boys had a bad game and EF made them pay for it. No shame in that, EF earned it and should roll on through CC this week. If you want to watch a passing game don't bother going to a Pewitt game, they have run the wing-t and slot-t for the past 13 years and have been to the big dance 3 times and have won it once. Would passing have made it more than 1 of the 3, who knows, but how many people can say they have played in that many state championship games in that time frame? Not many. Huckabay's record speaks for its self. With the talent of the young kids they have coming up, the chance at #4 is a real possibility. But for this year we are now backing the Jackets of EF. Good luck boys!
  23. From everybody here in Daingerfield, I'd like to congratulate Elysian Fields for taking it to the "Llamas." And for all those in Pewitt, you might want to have little more "disipline.":whome: Learn how to spell before you start talking your smack and does this somehow make your lose to Pewitt easier to take? We lost to EF, but whooped D'field.:whome:
  24. Just be glad ya'll went DivII. You better be concentrating on EF and not worrying about if ya'll could actually beat all of 19-2A's teams. And, likewise you had better be worried about Jefferson. Even the mighty Tatum Eagles are beatable, twice this year if memory serves me.
  25. Pewitt does not stack their backers. It is a 3-5-3, they have gap responsibilities and seldom do the backers end up stacked behind the tackles. Mike is usually the only one stacked.
