Would if an outcome could to similar to how some recent years went with Newton and WOS or even that game with Newton and Gilmer a few years back that Newton won.

Hands down, one of the worst graphics I've seen this season, no team names, and the font is hard to read. The gold representing the away games doesn't mess well with the dark background making it even harder to read. They took all the worst aspects and put them together.

obviously the taxpayers of the ISD have no problem remaining open.......it's all up to them....
If the town lost the school, it seems there would be nothing left, so it makes sense to stay open if the town wants to not become a ghost town.

The schedule posted by Coach Stanford on Twitter/X shows Midlothian Heritage at location to be determined. I guess that means neutral site, but it sure would be good to get that one at home. Otherwise, Tigers have only 4 home games - one in August, one in September, one is October, one in November. Three game stretch in September to Argyle (well over 400 mile round trip), then Midlothian Heritage (neutral site???), then Fayetteville (close to 500 miles round trip).
Being a large, good team on an island makes it pretty difficult, when was the last time Texas High had relatively closer games?

Only half an hour to Marfa, surprising to me, seems to be a few schools within an hour.

Could Pine Tree petition to remain in 5a?
Why would they want to?

I've always said, just take the largest 7 or 8 schools in East Texas and put us in a district. We don't have to worry about DFW or Houston area schools anymore.
JT, Longview, Lufkin, Lee, Nacogdoches, T-High, Marshall, and Whitehouse. There you have it. They are in the same district anyway except for football. Lee being the lone exception since they are 6a.
Longview will be 6A next year.

Serious question. If you’re the head man at NL or SH, do you leverage the improvements made into a job that isn’t terrible? Best case scenario for both is a 4th seed and a date with Carthage in the 1st round.
They could always sneak one by into a 3rd seed, as Bullard did with Van last year, didn't impact the seed for Van, but it could in this new district if Pitt/SH/NL pull out a win on them.

They were winning not too long ago. I think them dropping and a new coach should bring some excitement to the school.
Not too long ago LE was 4A D1, and now they're 3A D1, it seems so crazy to me how they can drop so quickly.

Some of these graphics could use some real work, some are very hard to read.

Makes no sense for Van to go to this district. These schools are way to far from Van!
It makes sense to prevent a 5 team district. That is the main thing that it does.

Bellville in front of us and we beat them throw this list away lol
Surprised to not even see PG on the list with them beating Gilmer and Brock on the list and being very close with Carthage.
With further digging, I didn't realize the criteria was for schools with under 1k enrollment AND under 10k population in the town. So the criteria disqualified PG before it even started.

I guess the information is murky on this for a reason.

Metzel has been to 3 state championships in 4 years as head coach. Knocked out last year by the eventual champion Carthage. More importantly, he has established a culture that permeates through the program. I know everyone likes to complain about the coach, but it’s hard to argue with that kind of success.
Then won 3 district championships in the last 4 year, this year was the odd year out without a win, but went on to win state, incredible consistency.

Hard for the town when the population peaked 60 years ago. Hasn't gone down much since then in terms of raw numbers, but the lack of growth is noticeable in the amount of abandoned structures/houses scattered across town.
