  1. I think they had a decent season this past year. Their coach took a job at Brazaswood HS down south.
  2. You keep being the shill you are for Gunter for your newspaper. Grab a copy of the yearbooks from the past few years and count how many have been in each class hoss. I’ll wait while you lick Jake’s boots some more Jason. That or just keep your head in the sand. Insiders from the ISD that have no ties to the school will gladly tell you what they did two years ago. Ask around if you are a true reporter.
  3. They have had the numbers to move up for a few years now, it’s just on snapshot day enough of those pesky transfers get un-enrolled for a few days to stay under.
  4. It’s all relative. Those small towns may have most of the town interested in, a couple thousand or so. Desoto and Duncanville while not even having the majority of people interested still have thousands more involved.
  5. Rooftops going up everywhere, they are all continuing to move up classes every cycle or two. Van Alstyne is another district that is growing. The only one in that area lacking is Howe, they are a mess.
  6. Anna is just north of Melissa, which is just north of McKinney. It’s part of the northern growth/sprawl from Collin County. Population booming and nice facilities.
  7. Good lord, HG’s schedule was even softer than I thought.
  8. 28-15? There is no way Comanche holds Gunter to 28. They will have more than that at halftime. They have so many players they can afford plenty of injuries. They have three deep at most positions. I don’t think people that aren’t from the area realize the amount of players they transfer in and have stacked before they get to HS and varsity. It’s an absurd amount of talent compared to other 3A-II teams that are just playing with guys that have gone to school there and have rosters if 25-30 players.
  9. Callisburg will give anyone a run for their money unless they have changed them in the past couple of years. Steep, narrow, no hand rails, and unstable as heck.
  10. Bells is playing Corsicana Mildred next Thursday at Royse City
  11. So far in Grayson County and nearby, all the "rumors" I have heard are: * Going to be real close on both Howe and Gunter moving up to 3A-I. More than likely both do though. * Leonard real possibility of moving down to 2A-I. * Bells has a large current freshman class that has around 30 more than the others so they are going to be up quite a bit on numbers but well below 3A-I cutoff * Whitewright will stay 2A-I
  12. No kidding, what a rambling post that went off the rails. That poster can't be serious, there is no way he/she didn't write that out intentionally like that as a bit.
  13. Every school around the area they are in has had growth larger than that, tons of new homes around the Gunter countryside and hardly any growth. Yeah, makes sense. I still don’t understand why they blatantly worked numbers last go round. There is no one that denied what a Gunter district employee put out that they temporarily withdrew over 20 students right before snapshot day due to not up to date shot records on file, then re-enrolled them right after conveniently. Why are they fighting moving up if they can compete with them anyway?
  14. Gunter would beat Honey Grove by 60+ easily. Totally different level.
  15. I don’t know about the others but Howe and Whitewright field teams that are the equivalent of JV teams for most schools.
  16. Someone is bitter about that 9-4A coverage no doubt!!!
  17. The ref jerking the player’s helmet off got me to thinking about helmets. Other than your own team’s helmet, what are some of the Texas HS helmets you think looks the best? I have always like Gilmer’s, a take on the Packers helmet but in school colors obviously. I like Southlake Carrol’s also. I will have to get on DCTF today and look at the helmets, they have a great database of them.
  18. Bonham has no chance. Their only chance at a win in district is Rains and that’s doubtful.
  19. Maybe they just don’t have enough good football players and have too many players with poor attitudes. Just a thought.
  20. Bells by 30+ again if they want to, but they tend to let off and play backups sooner than some other teams and give up points. I just don’t think Callisburg has played anyone close to the physical game that Bells plays and doesn’t matchup well with them.
  21. Bells will probably roll Comanche again in the second round if they meet again. I think people are discounting them because they lost 17 seniors. It's not the like the kids that were backing up some of the skill players didn't know how to play. Plus, the offensive line that ran over Comanche is all back this season I believe. Holliday will be there also by the time the playoffs get here. Those teams are just on a different level strength and physicality wise than Comanche.
  22. I think Brock returns the favor and pulls out a close one this year.
  23. Just read that the game scheduled for tonight has been cancelled.
