  1. I thought we were talking about this upcoming season? BG would certainly compete for a playoff spot in 3 of the 4 districts this year in Region 3. With four teams getting in and nearly all the districts having 2-3 pretty weak teams, you just have to win 2 games sometimes to get in. I didn't say they would compete for a state championship or even a regional championship, just that they were in that group of schools that could get in the playoffs and be a threat to knock off one of those teams in a tier above them. They aren't terrible.
  2. True, but all three are bringing kids up from jv teams that were really good so they should be fine, especially by the playoffs. I think the top five in that region stays the exact same again this year, Gunter, Holliday, Bells, Palmer, Comanche.
  3. Got to disagree (with bias lol) on 3A-II. I think Region 2 has to be considered the toughest or second toughest region. Gunter, Holliday, and Bells have all been strong recently and appear to continue, but then Palmer and Comanche both look like they have taken a step up. Then you add in programs that are looming as threats to try and knock one of the top ones off like Eastland, Callisburg, Blooming Grove, Scurry Rosser, Leonard, Howe, and Jacksboro. I just think there is more depth in that region than it gets credit for due to being some big boys at the top.
  4. Comanche's problem will be they will more than likely get Gunter or Bells (in all likelihood Bells) in the second round. Just don't see them having the line on either side to match up.
  5. Look forward to it. @MattStepp have you had anyone else notify you or have you heard about any issues with the Football Friday app? It says I need to upload a new version and go to the app store but when I do it says I have the latest version already.
  6. More reason for people to subscribe. Plus y’all pump out a lot of good content year round on the website.

  10. According to DCTF site, the following schools have open HC positions. Getting pretty late in the year to not have someone in and the staff settled. Cypress Lakes - 6A Fort Bend Austin - 6A Houston Westside - 6A Klein Forest - 6A Crockett - 3A Mathis - 3A Riviera Kaufer - 2A Bovina - 2A
  11. They have it: WR Troup Edgewood Grand Saline Arp Quitman Winona
  12. The pro section in my opinion really wasn't necessary anymore and didn't really add to the magazine much. Just my opinion. I get Lindy's for the pro football coverage. Pictures in mine all look fine that I can tell. Must have been a print issue with some.
  13. Got mine in the mail today!! Anyone else pleasantly surprised to see that today?
  14. Sherman recently passed a bond that I believe included a new stadium to be built on campus of their high school they just built 2-3 years ago. Bells recently passed a bond that will build a new fieldhouse on the opposite end of the stadium.
  15. He has another job lined up, rumored to be an AD position.
  16. I believe I read he was already on staff there and was promoted to the big chair.
  17. My very uneducated picks to win it all this week: 1A Abbott 2A Harleton 3A CC London 4A Sinton 5A Magnolia West 6A Cypress Woods
  18. I’m betting it has something to do with the Big 12 and the new schools and it being UT’s last season in it.
  19. I can’t believe Denison hasn’t had an increase recently, all those homes in Gateway Village, then you look at all the homes being built in their district but outside the city limits. I’m not disputing you, it’s just crazy to think their numbers haven’t gone up since every other district in the county seems to be having numbers increase.
  20. Man Sherman seemed like they just got desperate to find an alum to hire. Hope it works out but he doesn’t have a track record of success, and his HC experience is a few years at S&S?
  21. Denison built that humongous high school and can’t even stay in their same classification??? Terrible.
  22. Marsh has already gotten out of PP and landed at Whitesboro. I believe he was the girls track coach among other duties.
  23. Sounds like an admin problem but the coaching didn’t look too hot when we went and watched them last season. It was just one game but we went and watched PP take on Bells, which was a good team but still a smaller school, and PP got their tails kicked all up and down the field on both sides of the ball. No adjustments or anything from PP. And they had some good looking athletes and plenty of size. Just not much fight in them.
  24. Where is the other letter posted?
  25. They were the seventh best team in Grayson County last year behind in no particular order: Denison, Whitesboro, Gunter, Pottsboro, Van Alstyne and Bells all of which are smaller schools and most of them much smaller! Only would have beaten Tom Bean, Whitewright, Howe, Collinsville, and S&S
