I’m in favor of playing in a hailstorm. While under a tornado warning.

Imagine thinking the kids and adults supporting a tough game could be EVEN TOUGHER by playing in the rain!
I SAY FOOTBALL SHOULD EXCLUSIVELY BE PLAYED IN THUNDERSTORMS AND RAIN! There, now I am the toughest guy!

This is why society has eroded to the situation we find ourselves in today .... Let kids go outside and play and get dirty, ride in the back of pickup trucks, grow up and face adversity and learn to overcome ... it builds character .... That way when they are out of school and have to face strugglers in life, they will be better prepared for it ... I understand what you all are saying about the "advantages" of moving the games to Saturday, but this should not be the norm ...
I can live with that.

So coaches shouldn't try and put their programs in the best possible chance to be successful, both in current and future weeks, because old men on smoaky think that it makes them look soft, entitled, and weak?
It is easy for us all to say what should and shouldn't happen from behind a keyboard. But the outcomes of the games do not effect us. They do affect them. They are the ones who have to answer questions about wins, losses, personnel, etc. They are the ones whose job security is determined by on the field success. They want their programs to have success. They aren't moving games because of the kids. THEY ARE MOVING GAMES FOR YOUR KIDS (grandkids, etc). They want them to be as successful as possible.
Also it is kind of weird that you want them to run around in dresses.

Don't cancel the games or reschedule them to Saturday .... play them on Friday night like we have done for decades .... the forecast for many of the schools shows the rain/storms at less than 50% chance and for a lot of them the rain doesn't even arrive until late Friday night or early Saturday morning ....

I'll take the self-reliant, vigilant, hard working, over comer generations over todays soft, entitled, want everything just right or I don't want to participate crowd, any day ....
So we are just going to generalize and say that everyone who has moved their game is soft, entitled, etc. Got it.

I bet some of you guys hate that leather helmets aren't around anymore.

That's not a good reason .... people need to learn to deal with adversity ... play the game when it's scheduled ... everybody gets the same amount of time to prepare for the playoffs .... Hope we don't get a freeze or a frost along the way ....

Does anyone else think schools are overreacting to rain in the forecast? I hope moving games doesn't become the norm, but it looks like it has already taken hold ....
Extra day to prepare for playoff opponents (if it applies to you). Dry conditions, hate for an injury that could be avoided by playing early with better weather. It is only because it has been weeks 10 and 11. This stuff didn't happen weeks one and two. I get it if that is the reason.

You can take this BS and stick it. Cushing coach asked his Srs what night they wanted to play and the team unanimously wanted to play in the rain on Friday so that's what he went with. News flash: this wasn't the only game being played tonight.
If you want to blame anybody for taking halves/games away then look at your own people in the admin building.
Hide behind "asked his SRs what they wanted"........let kids make a grown ups decision? It impacts more than just the Bearkats (whatever the hell a Bearkat is).
Cushing could have moved the game (should have, but that is kind of how hindsight works) but chose not to. The least they could do is finish the game. They made the decision, they should have stood by it.
I get "unsafe conditions". Got to keep the boys healthy to go win their first playoff game in school history!
They are in the same district for all sports from here on out, should be some fun matchups!

Well yeah......that is because Carlisle is good.

No rain in the forecast on Friday, looks like they may play the entire game!

Probably the biggest surprise this week was the 14-14 halftime score between Joaquin and West Sabine, but the Rams put things together in the second half and made it look like a blowout. Garrison rolled up SA, and Timpson shredded Shelbyville. We can set the playoff scenarios now. San Augustine and Grapeland are both winless in district and eliminated from playoff contention. Their week 11 game is strictly for pride. Shelbyville and West Sabine will square off for the #4 seed. Garrison hosts Timpson and the Attoyac River River battle is a huge game. With Garrison only having one district loss (35-14 to Joaquin) they can force a 3-way tie for 1st place if they can knock off the Bears. Then it would go to points, as Joaquin’s only loss was 25-22 to Timpson. A Timpson win means the district playoff reps would be as follows:
1. Timpson
2. Joaquin
3. Garrison
4. Shelbyville/ WS winner.
We will match up with District 12 in the first round. Their playoff seeds are even less set than ours. Going into week 11, Centerville and Corrigan-Camden will square off for the district title and the loser will be the 2 seed. Leon will play Normangee, who is eliminated already. A Leon win coupled with a West Hardin win over Groveton puts Leon in 3rd and WH in 4th. Losses by WH or Leon makes things fuzzier than a Sunday morning at Doomer’s house. So we’ll just have to wait and see.
Puts Timpson and Jo in good shape in week one of the playoffs, GTown and the 4th place team........not so much lol
