Any other team get 7 turnovers against we would score 60+ Much like Carthage’s offense is good enough to win any game because of their defense. Rusk’s defense is plenty good enough for us to win because of our offense.

Yes, you are correct. I don’t know what I was thinking. Rusk beat Salado by 7 which is all that matters. Just so you’re aware, if we (or any team) win every game by 1 point for the rest of the year we will be the State Champion . It’s so weird how the playoffs work. It’s like all of your games before don’t even count anymore.

The only thing those 7 turnovers made me think was Carthage will have to overcome their QB to win it all. Just so you know Bellville is not Carthage. They have great backs but they will have to stop our offense as well. Carthage and Jasper are the only teams who have been able to so far. I believe we can play with anyone in 4A. Easily beat Rusk?

I wish that could be true. I love my Eagles but there is no way we can beat Carthage. I also believe our chances are as good as any team in 4A, Slim to none and slim has left the building. As far as Celina and Gilmer getting beat it’s kind of irrelevant. The time will be one minute after midnight with Surratt and his evil stepsisters waiting for any Cinderella that gets by those two. Exactly! If the ball is tipped or forced in a tight window and gets picked it’s unfortunate but understandable. When a QB throws it right to a defender he either isn’t seeing the coverage and or he’s confused which is an indication of a defense doing their job. I don’t know where you get your stats but I’ll wait for official numbers.

Carthage is by far the better team but you are delusional if you think Rusk’s defense had nothing to do with Carthage’s offensive performance in the first half. We did well enough against the run to force passing situations gave enough different looks to cause the QB issues. Whether you want to admit it or not we’ve got a pretty good team and I guarantee we won’t be an easy out in the playoffs.

I never understood that decision. Hatten is a match up nightmare for a big corner 1 on 1 and put a 5’8 freshman on an island with him. Never had a chance.
