  1. I've seen a few head coaches try and get some different "non school official" colored uniforms for various sports. Go as far as having the kids vote on a narrow selection for the uniforms and submit it to admin for approval. Only to have some salty old head from the community throw a fit about them and admin then letting the unis rot in a closet. Let the kids have some fun. Who cares if they wear black when your colors are blue and white? LK aint Bama, UT or Penn St. Hell Refugio is one of the best small school programs in the nation and they change their helmets every other year it almost. Some change and variety in colors can get kids excited to wear the uniform.
  2. Can't stall if you can't break the press.
  3. Not impressed until they call up Surratt. iron sharpens iron baby
  4. Daingerfield - Its Daingerfield they expect to win and they should Hooks - Should still have enough talent to beat the rest of the district and find a way to contend with Dfield for a title New Boston - Consistently in the hunt the past few years. Take care of business with DK, QC, and Redwater and secure their spot in the playoffs. DeKalb - Could be a playoff team or out of the picture Queen City - Can Queen City make the push needed to make the playoffs again? Beating NB or DK might be asking for a bit much, but is doable. Redwater - Redwater, QC, and DK all should battle it out for the final two spots if New Boston falters at all against one or two of them. Hughes Springs - Man Hughes Springs appears to be spiraling atm and this district looks like a murderers row for them to prepare for.
  5. Garrison - Continues success says they should win this district with Timpson losing Bussey Timpson - Still a major player in the region and state even with the loss of Bussey. Wouldn't be shocked if they found a way to win the district again. Joaquin - Will be majorly improved. Even with taking several losses last year they competed well and will only get better. Shelbyville - Could easily switch with Joaquin, but don't know who they have returning exactly. SA - Everyone keeps saying SA is up and coming, but they have yet to get over the hump and beat a legit contender yet. This is the year to prove themselves Hemphill - new coach. Dropping into a hornets nest of a district. They could contend or lose every district game. Who knows.
  6. If Mt.E finds a defense that can stop anyone the Ashe kid will roll them to a DC. LL will need to reload but could easily find a way to win the DC as well. Feels like Tenaha, Grapeland, and Overton will be fighting for the final 2 playoff spots. Alto will need to rebuild from the ground up after last year.
  7. Pretty sure he got them to the playoffs for the first time ever?
  8. From what I've heard the surratt boy is already a stud on the golf course. If the scores are to be believed from what I heard he's considerably better at golf than at qb and he's a really good qb. Similar to the frauenburger kid grapeland had a few years ago. Was a stud qb but went to play D1 golf.
  9. Clearly said AAD1. Don't avoid the question. If y'all were so dominant at 3A, where all these rings at in 2A. Surely little ole Timpson, Shelbyville and SA ain't been holding ya back from all these championships.
  10. The jump from high school to college ball is huge. Dodge and Morris are examples of what can easily happen attempting that jump without a solid understanding of how to make a college program work. Spending a few years as an assistant and being humble enough to learn how to recruit, develop talent, and adapt your philosophies at that level has to be tough pill for these guys to swallow, but is necessary to be successful at that level.
  11. When I was kid in Cleburne we played all the Ft Worth area towns and cities. We were really good at that level and would beat most of the other towns routinely. Except for Aledo. Before I even knew what a state championship or all state or any of that even meant, I knew that Aledo was damn good at football. This was back in the late 90s and early 00s. When Aledo adds the 2nd school it may end a dynasty. However, with how committed the entire community has been to winning. From the little kids in elementary to the seniors going to play D1 ball. I find it hard to believe they won't find some way to keep competing at a high level.
  12. Have to agree he doesn't bring much to the broadcast. I'd much rather see a top tier current head coach come on and give some insight to what they are seeing. For example have Surrat come on and tell us what he is seeing or even have the Liberty Hill guy do the Franklin or Bellville game and give some breakdowns.
