  1. CH is a young and talented team. They will learn and improve each game. It will be fun to watch them mature on and off the field. Is it too early to predict a 2013 state championship?
  2. Roy Ray was a good man and always made the games fun for the players. He will be missed.
  3. Should probably send the CH coach a thank you note for leaving the pitcher in. Coach went to pull the pitcher and the kid talked him into staying on the mound. Next pitch - - grand slam to win the game. Thanks coach !
  4. The lack of focus and respect for the game comes from the coaches. My kids have attended a public school that does not care for baseball or softball. They have the teams and the fields but that is about all. The fields are poorly maintained and have not had any upgrades in six years. Both teams have had a different coach each year for the past four years. If the school really cared about baseball/softball athletes they would hire baseball/softball coaches. The athletes are students and feed off the adults. I am not saying it is right. . . but these are kids. If the school does not hire a baseball or softball coach and force other coaches into that position - - - the program will never improve. The athletes are smart. . . these kids know the school does not care about the program(s). If the adults don't care about the program(s). . . . why should the students? Where was the coach while the students walked across the infield? My guess - - the students were following the coach. Where was the coach while the outfielder was doing backflips? It is obvious the coach doesn't care or he would have pulled the kid. It has been very frustrating but there is more to life than sports. My oldest daughter is currently playing D1 softball. My middle child is playing D2 baseball. My youngest will graduate high school in May and has signed to play D1 baseball. All three kids have played select baseball/softball and recruited to play college ball from the summer teams. Playing high school ball did not help them get recruited.
  5. Companies have been doing this for years - they fire long term employees and replace them with lower paid employees. State funding cuts have required schools to make difficult decisions.
  6. The All State teams are based on individual stats. Chapel Hill had numerous injuries that limited the number of games per player. Also - - CHill shared the load. There was not one star on the team - - there were many stars. If you watch the documentary you will see Coach Sitton taught these guys to play for others - Chapel Hill is a great example of a TEAM
  7. Proud of all the students, coaches, and community. I have watched these kids grow up into fine young adults. The seniors at Chapel Hill are some of the best kids around. The football field is just one example of champions. TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK
  8. PROUD to be a Chapel Hill Bulldog ! This is a class act school teaching students how to perform well on the field, in the classroom, and in life. It has been a team effort from beginning to end. The "team" included football players, cheerleaders, drill team members, band members, and many fans. The players have been humble and appreciate the support. TEAM WORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK CONGRATS TO A GREAT COMMUNITY !
  9. TANMAN . . . your list brought chills and tears. I will miss these kids next year. Having watched the guys grow up into fine young men on and off the field. . . sniff. . . sniff. . . . makes me proud. From the football team, drill team, cheerleaders and band. These kids have performed well all year. The game friday night will probably be the best game Jerry hosts all year (Cowboys included).
  10. In 3A Division I is tougher this year and Division II is weaker than last year. Chapel Hill has been working hard all year. Very proud of all the kids. This has been a fun year. Proud to be a Bulldog.
  11. Jerry Mumphrey from Chapel Hill has proven to be one of the best from East Texas. 14 Years in the MLB. Played for Padres, Astros, Cubs, and Yankees. Was a very fast outfielder and a threat on the bases. He retired in the late 1980's.
  12. This is the shortest route and will save about 15 minutes - - unless you get stuck behind a tractor while driving through the national forest OR hit a deer. Palestine to Buffalo to I45 is the safest route and has better roads. Most of the roads have multiple lanes and less curves. Praying for safe travels and NO INJURIES !
  13. NO YOU DON'T Their stadium is too small - - - and concession food is nasty !
  14. Congrats to Avery. A good kid on and off the field. Give him some drum sticks and he can perform during half time with the band. Very talented!
  15. Waco La Vega coach did not like Corsicana stating Chapel Hill had an advantage because Coach Castle came from Chapel Hill. For some stupid reason he thought Baylor would be a neutral location - HA -. Let's go Chapel Hill - -we have a road trip. HUNTSVILLE 11-18-11 Our Boys Need us !
