  1. It would not be fair at all. Haha. I underestimated just how fast Fat was. If not for the embarrassment of riches we had at WR this year, I could see him having played even more and put up some very big numbers at WR through the year.
  2. Absolutely. He was very good and as far as I can recall didn't have as much growing pains as some other multi year starters we have had. Not to mention he had a great performance starting a game for Nationally ranked Tulane this year, when their starter was out. Pratt is very good as well, hoping after he graduates/leaves that Kai will get the chance to start.
  3. Keaontay, Colbert and Bowens were all lethal and could make you pay on any play. And I would agree that Colbert was probably the best two way player we have had. Though some others that deserve consideration I think are Tee Goree, Jalen Claiborne, Edward Pope, Jason Teague. I'd love to have seen Teague and some others players from before then play in Surratt's program.
  4. Lol knew something like that was coming. Itā€™s an East Texas forumā€¦ football offseasonā€¦ I donā€™t see any problem with people keeping occupied discussing what they wish. Carthage happens to be one of the top programs for the area and state and we have a lot of presence on here. I guess you picked Aledo because they have more? Id be happy to discuss it if I followed the team closely each year but Iā€™m afraid I donā€™t and wouldnā€™t be able to add much to the convo. Iā€™d love to see what Aledo fans and others in the know would say is their best teams. Itā€™s a fun topic
  5. 2017 was great. I donā€™t think they are hands down the best by any means. I look back at their defense Vs some of the others Iā€™ve listed ahead of them and I just think it was not one of our best defenses. Other years had better defenses and as good or better offenses. Not gonna worry about if I think their competition was down or not. You can only play the people in front of you right then and there.
  6. I donā€™t recall having any discussions about my town besides athletics. I donā€™t have to do much defending there, speaks for itself. Just weird how deeply personal it seems for you and how much it bothers you for people to prefer playing elsewhere. Everyone has preferences, likes, dislikes, etc. Kind of like how you like and prefer to be an ####
  7. You are weirdly and oddly defensive of Houston and seem like a miserable dude. I am tempted to earn my next suspension on you.
  8. I do enjoy it and I'm glad you brought it up. Wonā€™t have much to talk about rest of the year
  9. This is all a matter of opinion anyways. Canā€™t truly prove it one way or another if one team is better than another or if competition was down or not.
  10. For QBs in Surratt era: 1) Kai Horton 2) Anthony Morgan 3) Blake Bogenschutz 4) Si Blackshire 5) Connor Cuff 6) Gunner Caps 7) Kayson Davis 8. Jared Blissett
  11. Maybe. But hard to say. Regardless they did exactly what they should have done in 15 out of the 16 games they played! So I got them as my #2. I feel like 2008, had they been in Surratt's program and system from 7th grade onward and had the tutelage of Preston, they could be higher on this list.
  12. I'm only going to rank the Surratt era teams and Qbs Teams: 1) 2020 2) 2022 3) 2008 4) 2019 5) 2017 6) 2013 7) 2009 8. 2010 9) 2016 10) 2018 11) 2021 12) 2015 13) 2012 14) 2011 15) 2007 16) 2014
  13. Iā€™m gonna figure out my rankings and reply with them when I can, but there is a few things I gotta come at you with right awayā€¦ lol 1) What all are you looking at when deciding the placement of the teams and QBs? Because if looking at things statistically (I donā€™t have a list or numbers in front of me, just going off memory) it would seem like they are not quite in order. 2) No Siā€™Darius Blackshire on the list? To me he has to be on there. And he wouldnā€™t be at the bottom either.
  14. Beechum to LB full time. I think Matlock and Edwards absolutely have to stay at RB. Though I could see one or both playing a hybrid role. Dowden probably stays at RB I imagine. Unless he has some potential on defense as well.
  15. Eagleborn canā€™t put himself in our shoes. They are both literally and figuratively too big for him to fill. Also, EB has a big jealousy problem. He doesnā€™t handle it well. Be easy on him.
  16. Blackshire, Morgan, Bogenschutz, Kasen Davis, Capps, Horton, and now Cuff. He definitely continued the legacy this year.
  17. Idk, statistically you could put them up there. I think between this years team and the 2020 team that you just mentioned.
  18. I cannot say enough what a difference a year made for Connor Cuff. He made a huge jump from last season and was fantastic all year!
  19. I was surprised to see you had picked Wimberley. Just curious as to why you thought that? Did you truly think they were going to win? This was one of, if not Carthage's best team. Possibly 2nd to the 2020 team.
  20. Both safeties and one CB are seniors. Two LBs are seniors and two DE are seniors. On offense they lose Cuff, Paddie, Hatten, KD bell, OT Keystone Allison. So not too much. And while it may sound and feel like you are losing a lot of big names and contributors you got so many Juniors, Sophomores and Freshman who started and contributed big time during the season and playoffs. I don't think it's going to feel like they are losing much.
  21. Maybe not. For sake of running the clock as much as possible. Guess we will see lol
