  3. Will there be a live stream of the Pottsboro/Mineola game?
  4. They both get it from Winny? Sounds like it could be a Finneyism
  5. Found this interesting.....Is Gunter taking a jab at GW with this tweet? Did GW steal the "standard" from Gunter? Or did Gunter still the "standard" from Gladewater? Maybe they collaborated?
  6. Except for the 5 interior linemen, any player can pick their hand up from a 3 pt stance (and put it back down on the ground if they choose) as long as they are set for 1 count before the ball is snapped according to what I have now read. Coach Morton mentioned during the show that they would be combining the 2 JV teams into 1 and moving up some additional players to the varsity especially for special teams. I agree that Atlanta's biggest offensive issue is offensive line play. Often times the backs are hit in the backfield and the QB is running for his life in the passing game. I thought they were better last year when they were in the I formation and running down hill.
  7. Well, according to a google search of "Can the tight end lift his hand after being set?" he can. Only the 5 interior linemen cannot. I just thought it was odd for a coach to be blistering an official for not knowing the rules when apparently he didn't know the rule. He was complaining that when BH would unsuccessfully use the hard count then look over to the bench to get the play that the tight end would lift his hand. This is not illegal.
  8. Atlanta Coach's Show Coach Morton does a lot of complaining on this episode of his coach's show about the officiating vs Brook Hill. He also states that the referee told him before the game that the official on the Atlanta sideline was new and didn't know what he was doing. Coach Morton complained that the official would not call illegal procedure when the Brook Hill tight end would lift his hand to get the play call after already putting it on the ground. He stated the official didn't know the rules. It has always been my understanding that only the 5 interior lineman could not pick up their hand after putting it on the ground. Maybe some refs on the board could clarify this ruling?
  9. I've seen most of Atlanta's games this year and I just think they have taken a couple of steps back from last year. At the end of last year, I thought Coach Morton and staff had things headed in the right direction but from what I have seen this year they look more like the teams under Plunk and whoever was before him.
  10. 1. Jefferson 2. Tatum 3. Sabine 4. Gladewater 5. Atlanta 6. White Oak
  11. So how did the sub-varsity games against Gilmer turn out?
  12. Did Gunter and Gladewater play sub-varsity games last year?
  13. @kooldown54 Does NB stream their home games?
  14. @JustAFan11 Does Harmony stream their home games?
  15. In my opinion, the one getting punished in this the most is Itasca. To cancel 72 hours or so before the game gives them virtually zero chance of finding another game. I would think it might be hard for Marlin to schedule non-district games when realignment comes around out of fear of them taking this type of action in the future. I get Marlin is trying to send a message to their kids but maybe find a way that does not punish your scheduled opponent just as much or more as yourself. There is a message to be sent about honoring your commitments as well.
  16. @Byron smith Do you know if Jefferson will be streaming their home games this season?
  17. @Bclove05 Do you know if the Sabine/Grace scrimmage will be on the Sabine athletics live stream?
  18. I know better. I like the Bears team this year. They seem to have a chip on their shoulder. Saw some highlights from the Gilmer scrimmage and the players and coaches were showing a lot more emotion than I've seen the past couple of years. Looked like they were more of a team with not so much of the negative body language. To me, the key will be can they maintain this through their non-district season. If it doesn't beat them down physically and they don't mentally allow it to ruin what they have going now, I think they will make some noise during district.
