Anyone see any of the 7v7 league games at Sabine tonight?

@Jasonwaldon Does atlanta play 7v7? If so, how are they looking? I would think Harrison has filled out some and should be improved

I know Sabine has played in a couple of 7v7 SQTs and I think Gladewater has played in at least 1. Have the other district teams been playing 7v7?

I think Atlanta and Sabine will definitely be improved not only because they return alot but also because they have both had a full offseason with their head coaches now. I would put Tatum in that category as well except the loss of Fite and Welch makes the offensive line a bit of a question mark to me. Gladewater is a bit of a mystery to me. I think they return quite a bit but will be hurt by the loss of Lewis and Powers. What is the QB situation at Jefferson? I think if they can be solid at this position and Kam stays healthy, they can be a solid team.

Probably the safe bet that those 4 make the playoffs but I think Sabine will be in the hunt as well

Exactly. That's why the 4A and below schools in East Texas that are on the border of being region II or region III usually do better in the club oriented sports (volleyball, softball, baseball) when they are in Region III. Like you said, the closer the ET teams get to playing the metroplex schools the harder it is to compete in club oriented sports. I'm speaking in general. I'm sure there are exceptions of ET small schools getting to state from Region II.

Haven't heard anything out of the White Oak folks about the start of the Ludlow era. I guess that could be good considering how things have gotten started in Hughes Springs after Edwards was pushed out. What do the Roughnecks think of Ludlow so far?

I think it is time for the UIL to get out of the "transferring for athletic purposes" business. If a family is willing to move into a district (without having dual residency) and not just transfer then I don't think the reason should matter. The same coaches who are checking "moving for athletic purposes" on the PAPF have often moved their own families to a new school because it is best for their family. Athlete's families should be able to do the same without penalty in my opinion. Will the rich get richer? Most likely but I think establishing residency (and I'm not talking about just moving in with someone else) by uprooting your family to move into a better situation shouldn't be penalized.

Assuming Longview has had generally the same caliber of athlete most years, do you believe most of the coaches who came before King underachieved with the talent Longview possessed or that King has done a superior job in maximizing Longview's talent? As you insinuated, we know he has some pretty harsh critics who believe Longview has underachieved during parts of his tenure despite the facts you provided.

When Iske retired, the article in the LNJ said it would be effective at the end of the year. The press release for hiring Ludlow said he starts at WO on March 1. How is that going to work as far as the AD position? Who is in charge from March 1 on?

Apparently, based on your posts, you have a source very close to the situation. Did you not like any of the candidates they interviewed? You can only hire guys that apply, right?
