\"Winning is not a sometimes thing: it\'s an all-the-time thing. You dont win once in a while; you dont do thing right once in a while; You do them right all the time. WINNING IS A HABIT. UNFORTUNATELY SO IS LOSING.........\"

  1. Winona needs teams for the annual Jack Frye relays, the meet for the high school is on March 22nd and the Jr high is on March 19th. For more information contact Coach Cook @ [email protected]
  2. Seems the coach is pretty good with kids from what observed, he praised them a lot even when they made mistakes he allowed them time to tell him what they did wrong on the play. I like that, means kids are taking ownership of team
  3. I guess there's not any "good" people in Winona anymore cause they have not stood up for the school district yet, while you bash the decisions made by the school the just stand silent. I have no dog in the fight but I share the same profession, and i know that if you win you stay, if you lose you move! Ok maybe I understand the comments about the superintendent, the history is a little rocky, but a coach that takes a job to better his carreer shouldn't worry that much about the previous guy, cause it doesn't affect him. And I will not even comment on the "white coaches" comment but I just mention to let it be known that it was recognized.
  4. Chapel Hill and Kaufman advanced from Pool B and Shelbyville and Canton from Pool A. CH beat Canton and Kaufman beat Shelbyville in semis. They did not play the finals they just agreed to stop since both were going anyways. Pool B CH-3-0 Kaufman 2-1 Gilmer 1-2 TK Gorman 0-3 Did not watch Pool A to tell you the record in the pool
  5. Yea but since you been there you should know its not 60% coaching error, most staffs get their kids ready to play but we still must remember we are talking about 15-18 yr old kids so things don't always go as planned, and since have coached then u should realize that.
  6. The freshman won district because they only lost to Gilmer and they beat Gladewater
  7. If they line up in the I and run the ball all the time then the complaint will that they run the ball too much!!! Hindsight is 20/20 and it is always right but i think that CH is in the right offense.
  8. All of u should be ashamed, I understand that Lex was upset but when did it become ok to quit!! Quick question for y'all to think about, what about the second string o-line or the kids that never hit the field should they quit also. Or what about the kids the backed Zero last year, didn't he move there too? So how about you all just leave this subject alone cause there is 40 other kids that this post affects(who stuck through adversity or hard times)!!!
  9. Three tds called back on penalties
  10. Gilmer got off to a fast start but Henderson has decided to play a little and actually has stopped Gilmer on the last couple of drives but need to connect on a couple of passes.
  11. It's seem whomever has the wind will be able to move ball effectively.
  12. Yea Henderson is calling reverses on 2 and 2 and didn't even get first down. All they got to do is run the ball Yea Henderson is calling reverses on 2 and 2 and didn't even get first down. All they got to do is run the ball
  13. So basically because they have lost a couple of game you have no confidence in them to win. And when they are winning you have all the confidence in the world that they can defeat everybody. Sounds "fair weather" to me! Just a though from a casual observer
