  1. Nice post, and you are right about the Gilmer kids being in shape. Gilmer's kids work extremely hard and you could see that on Thurs. night.
  2. I don't know about Johnny Hurndon finding out what a real back looks like because he is very talented. I do know that he had the opportunity to meet Justin Johnson on a kickoff return 2 years ago in the playoff game in Mt. Pleasant. It was a flat out slobber knocker, but he is tough he got up.
  3. There is no way NB should stay on the field with Pittsburg if you are looking at this one on paper, but the NB staff does a great job. Never count NB out. If Pitt. beats them by more than 3 TD's then they may be the real deal this year.
  4. Sounds like there are alot of optimistic folks in Daingerfield:) I think Daingerfield will be competitive. I know the Gilmer fans are counting on a good game when the Tigers come to Buckeye Stadium. Their kids have always played hard and I don't see this year being any diferent.
  5. Who has Gladewater scrimaged in their first two scrimages and how have the done?
  6. What is wrong with LaMichael James? What other starters are not playing?
  7. Who is Harmony scrimmaging this week 8-18? When and where is the scrimmage?
  8. Will their Qb's be as good as the one they had last year?
  9. Looks like Royse City is going to be pretty tough to beat. With their numbers they should have a real advantage over most 3A schools. I doubt there are any 3A's that got that many move ins.
  10. You seem to be a real football expert:) Who do you think some of the top teams are? I would seriously like to hear your opinion, it would make for a good laugh.
  11. How many kids did they have out for practice today? Are they going to be able to field a freshman team this year? I know the past two years they have not been able to maintain a freshman team for the entire season.
  12. The Glenwood Gorilla's might have something to say about your district championship. They have a pretty rowdy crowd at their home games.
  13. Every coach who has not seen it should watch it before the season starts it really puts sports into perspective and demonstrates the power coaches have to change young mens lives in a positve form. To the guy who got written up for showing the movie keep doing the things you do to impact young people's lives. What would our world be like if we had more teachers and coaches like the head coach on that movie.
  14. Is the Eddington kid going to be Gladewater's QB this year? If so what position did he play last year? I don't remember hearing about him last year.
  15. It sure is nice to hear about a guy willing to give back to his community. Sounds like a great deal.
  16. Just a reminder that gilmer beat tatum on every level 7th, 8th, Fresh., JV, and Varsity last year. That is kind of interesting!
  17. No defense will be anywhere near as dominant as the defenses of the 80's because offenses are so much better now. Look at the offensive records of the 80's compared to the records of the 2000's. The question would be were the defenses in the 80's really that great or were the offenses just simple? I will guarantee that I would have much rather been a defensive coordinator in the 80's than in the 2000's. I would also venture to say that the 06 Gilmer team may not have beaten the 83 Daingerfield but they would have scored at least twice. How many of those teams that Daingerfield played were really proficient in the passing game? Not knocking them because there is no doubt they were the most dominant team in modern football history, but some of you guys need to wake up and see how much the game has changed.
  18. Why don't you list all your teams losses in the last 4 years. Maybe you could get that right. Gilmer lost to Atlanta in 03, D'field and Canton in 05, and LE in 06. All very quality opponents two of which were state champs.
  19. Gladewater should have more talent than Spring Hill, but Spring Hill will be very well coached and will not go down without a fight. Both Spring Hill and Gladewater could give Gilmer a run for their money if Gilmer does not come ready to play.
  20. Get a life Kevnasty. You are always dogging Gilmer and by so doing you are acknowledging that Gilmer has a successful program ,if not you would not be so consumed with Gilmer. It is flattering that a Daingerfield Tiger is so consumed with Gilmer. I hope you can come to the Gilmer/D-field game and get to see your dream team, Gilmer, in action.
  21. Wow, I always thought Gilmer's big rival was Gladewater... gladewater is the big rival to gilmer...however i think its the fact that d field has been able to compete alot better than gladewater has lately, that kind of helps people forget about the battle of the G helmate. Gilmer is 9-1 vs Gladewater in the last ten years and Gladewater's win came in overtime. This year's game should be better. Daingerfield has given Gilmer more competition in the past few years so this one has been a big game.
  22. Pewitt does have a great program. Gilmer has not lost a home game since Pine Tree in 2002 and hasn't lost a district game since Tatum in 2000.
  23. I would put Wimberley in the top 8 they are an excellent program and will be good year in and year out. I'd also have Palestine in the top 20.
  24. If he played QB this year, he would easily be the best in that district, but since he's moving back to his regular position(WR) he'll be the best at that position. Who will be Pitts QB this year to get the ball to Wright?
