I would agree with you. But what I am saying is that all of the sports have very low numbers in off season so at the high school there is not very many athletes playing just one sport accept soccer. Lufkin has almost all of his basketball team playing straight basketball and baseball has a bunch of straight baseball players. Nac has many more kids playing more than one sport.

It is a misperception that other sports in Nac are recruiting their kids to not play football. There are very few kids in basketball offseason and baseball only had a few straight baseball players. There are athletes in Nac but not as many as everyone thinks. Soccer is the only sport with a large number of kids in offseason. Band does run the school. They ever make football shorten their practice so they can get on the field. Also hear that drill team ran the basketball out of the gym as their were practicing for the playoff game. soccer team gets a ton of support and draws a ton of support. Basketball has had its most consistent and best run the last 5 years and they still don’t draw a big crowd except for the Lufkin game

Nac also starts 4 juniors and will return 8 of their top 10 kids on varsity next year. Nac has been inconsistent but went 3-1 in the highly competitive Waco Midway tournament against 6A teams and 3-1 in the Montgomery tournament against 6A teams. Nac schedule has been their toughest in years. They had 3 kids playing on one leg against Lufkin because of injuries. They might be peaking at the right time. Hopefully

Nac boys beat Sulphur Springs 48-46. The kids are starting to come around and play really good ball. They have made some personnel changes that have really improved the team

Nac plays Tyler on Tuesday and Huntsville travels to Lufkin. If Nac wins and Huntsville loses it will be a three way tie for third If Nac wins and Huntsville wins then Nac and Tyler are tied for forth. If Nac loses they are out so it is a must win for Nac

Nac boys having been barely making it all year. Their coaches said they have not had a single practice or a game this whole year with their complete team. Nac even had to go to the MP tournament with 7 kids and a jv player. They have had kids out with injuries or sickness all year. They have several kids out now. Just been one of those years. Hope it doesn't break their 6 year playoff run (first time in school history) but they are struggling to get bodies well.
