Any thoughts on WH #5 being benched this week for his stunt Thursday night?

Or did that not happen in your world either?

#45 and #2 get to sit out the first half too for their ejections along with our 2.

    ouch.

And what caused those ejections? Marshall players ripping off the helmet and stomping on #5. Was he wrong to retaliate in the line after the game, absolutely and he is suffering the consequences.
What about the Marshall asst coach that continuously called the WH quarterback a little ### and mocked him?

Look at this crazy scenario in 8-5A Div II.

The 4 teams that will be in the play-offs has been decided: Texas High, Whitehouse, Hallsville and Marshall.

The current standings look like this.

    Texas High             4-1

    Whitehouse            4-1

    Hallsville                 3-2

    Marshall                  3-2

This week's schedule has  Texas High vs. Pine Tree,  Whitehouse vs. Marshall  and Hallsville vs. Mt. Pleasant.

If Hallsville, Marshall and Pine Tree all win then the top 4 all finish at 4-2!!!  I guess seeding will be determined by some kind of point spread?!?

Now, Hallsville and Marshall both could and should win but PT bearing Texas High is very unlikely. But if they do, wow!! Quadruple District Champs!!

Or if Whitehouse wins they’re district champs!

I'm a little surprised no one in the district moved their games......

Looks like some coaches want the rain to equalize things.

I don't mind sitting in the rain.  Don't even mind the cold.....  not crazy about the cold and the rain.

But the lightning delays..... the severe weather...... meh.  I'd be OK without all that.

Whitehouse asked to play Thursday and Texas High said no.

  4. Whitehouse football is currently 2-0. They are averaging over 400 yards a game so far this season. They have played well all around with solid defense, good special teams and a well balanced offense. Looking forward to see what happens the rest of the season.

    Exactly!

And the fact that EVERY 5A school in East Texas is a minority school except WH and Hallsville is hysterical to me.

I know Longview, Pine Tree, and Marshall have had some similar past issues with Hallsville through the years too. But at least Hallsville administration makes an effort to squash it. It definitely seems like it’s not systemically poisoned like WH.

I got accused of “acting black” once over in the political forum. Don’t even know what that means.  But anyone that knows me knows I’m white as wonder breadS.  Lmao.

Anyone that wants to give poor picked on Whitehouse their deserved coverage is more the Welcome to post it.  I’m under zero obligation to do so.

As a moderator shouldn't you cover everyone?  A topic post of Disrtrict 8-5A Div II Football should include all of the teams.  Yes, I am from Whitehouse and am not sure what you are talking about as far as our football team goes.  They are hard working kids and deserve coverage of their games.  I would like to know specifics about what the current kids have done.  Every school has certain "fans" that give the school a bad name, but I don't think it is fair to judge a new team based on the past when McFarlin and Mahomes were there.  We have a new coach and a new AD and things are different.

    Since when?

Our football game with them in 2019 was a freaking circus.  2020 was almost has bad…. but not not as hostile.  Both games in WH.

We were fully prepared for it, though.  Fans and coaches had already been debriefed by the same from  Pine Tree, Mt Pleasant, Nac.

WH Players using racial epithets to get reactions from the opposing team (hoping to get a flag thrown on the reaction).  Stepping on hands.  Fingers in the eyes on pile ups. Pinching… punching.    You know… real football stuff 🙄🙄🙄

Don’t even get me started on the signs and the chants by the student section.

This is stuff reported by multiple schools, from multiple fan bases of multiple sports.  Longview, Marshall, Texarkana, Tyler, Lufkin, MP, PT, Nac……. What do all those schools have in common?  They are all minority schools.

It’s truly a reputation they have earned over the last 20 years or so that I’m aware off.    And while administration says all the right things about it not being tolerated….based on what I’ve personally experienced at their basketball and baseball games…. They are most definitely complicit in how the students behave.   It’s a part of the culture there and has been a long long time.

They aren’t the only school in the district with this problem…… but at least the other is a little more covert about it.

I was referring to the team from last year and going forward with the new coach.  I know that this type of behavior would not be tolerated from the current coaching staff.

They are the Highland Park of East Texas in terms of the comments their fan base and students continue to throw out there during athletic events for dang sure.

I wish nothing but loss after loss for every single one of their programs based on just the racist, homophobic comments that I have heard every single time I've attended one of their games.

I am sorry that you have had that experience in Whitehouse.  I can promise you that the football team does not fit in this category at all.  I hope you give them another chance.

I know I will get BANNED and SHUNNED for this statement but Whitehouse is notorious for DBFL - DADDY BALL FOOTBALL LEAGUE. Always the same story of  somebody's feelings getting hurt. Blaming the coach and wanting SO HARD to be the Highland Park of East Texas when they long been out of that running.

Daddy football left with the last qb.  Someone finally said, no, your kid isn't playing just because you're on the school board.

Now Whitehouse is another story.  Ask any fan of any school in the district and you’ll get the same response…. That’s just a fact!

I think it's funny that the Marshall head coach came and found the WH QB after last season's game and complimented him and told him what a great job he did, but you only put them down.  It's a new WH team and I think everyone is in for a surprise with them.

  11. On 6/26/2022 at 2:59 PM, Mavchamp said:

Hard time believing WH is going to improve that much.  They lost their QB, their top rusher, top WR, a chunk of their OL and their coach.

The WH qb that left was benched after 5 games, the only games WH won last year were with the returning QB.  Not sure where the information is coming from about losing the top rusher and WR.  They have a receiver with several DI offers coming in.  I think WH is going to be a big surprise to many this season.
