  1. Mostly it was Brock controlling the line of scrimmage on offense and defense. Brock was able to run the ball effectively and Malakoff was not. If that is repeated, this year will more than likely be the same outcome. If Malakoff holds their own up front then they have a good shot of winning.
  2. Both of those guys are "dudes" for sure. I agree #52 is probably a little better but both are very good. They play with great pad level and use their hands very well. The main thing is they don't take plays off, both play very hard. That may be where there is an advantage for Brock, they have been tested this year in their pre-district schedule and Paradise in the playoffs, whereas koff really hasn't been. That could be a big advantage for the eagles since both are sure to be tested tomorrow night. One team knows how to respond and the other we will find out. Looking forward to a war.
  3. I thought the same thing but I have been told this is one of their smaller lines that they have had. I thought they were big last year until they lined up against Brock and I saw how big #52 and #54 were for Brock.
  4. Not sure who you are asking about but if you are referring to my family, no sir they were and are not. We have never been one to tell people what to think or what to believe. Actually our family is not what I would consider a big religious family, don't really have those discussion. We are more along the lines of waking up everyday and trying to be the best version of ourselves.
  5. No sir, they never received entitlement funds for having children. They were more self-sufficient during those times, learning to live off of the land so to speak. Grew a lot of their own food and raised a lot of the meat they ate. Filled in the gaps with hunting and fishing. Grandfather worked and made a very modest living. When I was nearing the end of high school my grandmother went to work, which was not a normal thing during that time, to help out financially. It sounds like you have been an educator for quite a while, surely you have witnessed over time the group of people who are having the most kids now a days and I'm sure you have figured out some of the reasons for that.
  6. You are correct. It doesn't have anything to do with race or the color of your skin either. It has to do with economic status. We have a system in place that encourages people of lower socioeconomic status to have the most children because of the entitlement funds they receive. People that fall in the the middle class are having less and less because of the cost of raising children. It's something I have been following for quite a while. My dad was the oldest of 8 in his family, all of his siblings only had 2 children. A lot of my cousins have only had 1 or 0 children, I stopped at 2 myself because of the cost of raising them.
  7. Malakoff was by far the most physical team in Region 2 this year and it has shown in the playoffs thus far. Brock is going to be the most physical team Malakoff has faced this year, and it's not even close. It will be interesting to see if Malakoff has improved enough from last year in this aspect. Both defensive front 7 are legit, so I think which ever teams o-lines play the best wins. Toughest team wins.
  8. I agree there are some improvements from last year. #68 has been a big help on the defensive line with his physicality and it has given them some flexibility to move some guys. I hope they both make it again this year. I feel pretty confident Koff will be there and I'm a little less confident Brock will be there, only because Brock has a little tougher road. Will probably have to beat a really good Paradise team for a 2nd time and that's not easy to do.
  9. Malakoff would have to lay a pretty big egg to lose this game in my opinion. That may very well happen because we are talking about 15-18 year old kids and you never know, but I think it's very unlikely. The Boone kid is a player no doubt but there is just not enough to go with him. I know there is a lot of football left before this happens but Koff and Brock are on a collision course again in the semifinals. If it happens it will be interesting to see if Koff improved enough in the areas they were lacking last year to get past yall. They haven't been tested all year though so it's hard to tell if they have.
  10. I hate to break it to you but that district isn't close to being one of the toughest districts. Overall the whole region is pretty weak except for Malakoff. Go take a look at the Region 3 teams. It is not going to be pretty this week for the MV tigers.
  11. That would be a heck of a run for sure. Should be a really fun next 3-4 weeks if you are a football fan.
  12. I hope both teams make it that far because I think that will be an outstanding matchup. Both teams are big and physical up front on both sides of the ball, both run the ball well, both have above average QB play and both play really good defense. They also are coached very well. Definitely 2 contenders to win it all.
  13. Back to the Franklin Lions , I like their team a lot again this year. That's a machine that just keeps rolling. Someone will have to play really good football to beat them. It will be fun to watch it all play out.
  14. There isn't a clear cut favorite this year like there has been in years past. There are several quality football teams in the state that could win it this year. It should be fun watching the playoffs this year, I expect some really good games.
  15. I really like the soph. #6. Best way I can describe that young man is he is a "football player". Not only does he standout as a RB, but when they put him on defense he just makes plays. Really really enjoy watching him play. I'm not sold on the rest of what you said, like I said won't know those answers until they play a good team.
  16. Don't make any mistake about it, Koff is a really good football team this year. In my opinion they aren't the best team that's come through since Driskell has been there though. They are the best team in region 2 and I really don't think its that close. That has more to do with the region though. I don't think we find out how good they are until the Semi's.
