Absolutely. The LE third base coach won 2 of PG's 3 championships and the JV coach won a 3a title. Difficult for a bunch of individuals to beat a team, even if they are more talented.

Advantage PG. Johnson is more accurate throwing on the run when compared with drop backs.

I would hope not. Judging by the production in the playoffs, they are equivalent to the beast 8 miles to the east. Both made it to the second round in the past two seasons. If you match them in the playoffs why consider a change? Does NB need a quarterback. Hooks has an extra one. Does NB need an additional assistant with a son that plays QB? Curious to see who is the QB at Hooks next season. Does the HC keep his kid in that spot after an undefeated season and "deep" second round run?

Yes but you have to understand how to use him. You have to trick the defense with the pin point passing game to open up the running lanes. Especially when he only gets 6 or 7 yards when he leans forward.

The funny thing, NB made it to the second round just like the 4th ranked hornets! Just like last season!

Only 5 or 6 yards a carry but the Hooks offensive masterminds try and trick DF with the pass.

Absolutely. District is just a tune up. Get the T-Shirts printed for the annual “deep” second round run! This group was not even born the last time they made it to the third round. I think it has been 50 years since they made it to or past the 4th round which I am guessing most posters here were not even alive!

Baseball is starting up. Is that what you mean? Most schools in NE Tex have not missed any on court time. Not naming names but I can think of a bunch (Hooks, NB, DeKalb, RW, LE, T High) that have been playing for a month!

I do not think it ultimately mattered but the Jackson kid was out with a separated shoulder after the first series.

I think you can listen to 94.1 via the web but not sure that is less annoying.

The only thing I am a fan of in DeKalb is the Junction. I know the ambiance doesn’t compare with the smoke filled palatial palace in the old Thomas’ building on the corner in Hooks but the food is good. I think you could combine the DeKalb and Hooks teams and neither coach could get out of the second round.

And the amazing thing is that was the last appearance (and maybe only) in the championship, 1973. Third round 2 or 3 times since then but 0 in the last 16 years. A heisman trophy, all pro middle linebacker, plus a few nfl linemen. Hooks is where they do less with more.
