  1. That is a great take on all parts. Touching on the conference sponsorship, Josh Pate has been saying since the summer that he believes it’s just a matter of time before a conference is “owned” by a major corporation. He actually hinted at Saudi Arabia doing something similar to what they did with LIV golf with the pac 12 when they were struggling to complete a tv deal before the split.

I agree that for sure, the G5 and P5 teams need a split. Theres absolutely no reason for UL Monroe to be competing for the same national championship as Michigan. It’s ridiculous to have 132 teams with enrollment numbers varying from 65k to 6k competing for the same prize. When you’ve got programs raising hundreds of millions of dollars a year competition against teams operating with a 20 million dollar budget, it’s just not ever going to be what we want it to be.

I believe A&M will be much improved with a healthy Qb . Plus add in the fact Alabama and Ole Miss  aren’t on the schedule. 9-3 should be the basement is the Ags stay healthy.

There is no telling where this team will be in the fall because there isn’t even a staff in place and kids are still leaving. WAY too early to start talking records for next season.

The guy literally was a no show last week for a paid event. He was seen at a basketball game instead. Also, watch his documentary. Hiring JF would be a HORRIBLE idea for the program… so of course I’m all for it.😂

He would never be anywhere near the program. Aggies love him (as they should) for the excitement he brought and he played his tail off, but he will never be a coach of anything. You can’t even count on him to show up and coach a school beer pong team…

Even if he was sort of reliable, the dude played the game with his hair on fire and no plan. You can’t coach that type of instinct and to be honest more than half the stuff Johnny did coaches try to coach out of kids even if they could do it.

  4. If it’s Klein, I’m not sure that’s the flashy hire Aggies wanted but his offense is solid. He’s a guy who gets more with less and also seems to be solid at adapting his offense week to week. I do think this would fit well with Weigman and the other QBs on the roster. All of them have the athletic tools to be successful running his style, and I think the biggest reason he runs Howard the way he does is because Howard isn’t capable of beating you with his arm 100% of the time.

Thanks for avoiding Texas’ invite for the sept home/home series guys.  That slot was filled by Alabama and that win helped Texas get into the CFP.  Beating the sec champ proved to be worth it.

What I want to know is how pathetic that is the big 12 that the conference runner up is playing 7-5 A&M in the Texas bowl? I suppose you guys really did need that win when you’re practically playing a G5 schedule.

I assume there will be a few players leave because of this.

How do y’all feel about him leaving?

Really hate to see him go. He’s an elite recruiter. A&M offered to make him the top paid assistant in the country, but he has a very close relationship with the new Syracuse HC. Getting to progress his career by calling plays is something he deserves to do, but A&M just couldn’t offer that at this juncture. He will be missed but I assume a solid DC is expected. Elko stated he will not be calling plays so they will be going after someone with experience and is proven.

Yep. Like I said, I like the cut back. Only thing I’d do differently would’ve been to have a little less in the guaranteed and a little more in incentive but overall I’m happy.

Sadly it’ll take a while to see how the dust settles.

Elko and Erob should keep most the defense in tact both current roster and recruits. There will be some guys leave but that’s likely a playing time issue more than coaching change. It’s the offense that could take a hit. I’m hoping he can find an OC sooner rather than later. We don’t need another situation where you hire Petrino so late in the process that you essentially forfeit any chance to fight for guys during early signing.

Before you try another straw man argument, I don’t claim to have any inside scoop (though I’m closer to our program than anyone here is close to the teams they follow, since you brought it up). I don’t need an inside scoop to look at an internet rumor and call it an internet rumor. Again, I don’t have to prove a negative.

I was specifically talking about the one tweet with 400 Twitter followers who claimed stuff about the BOR. Hence why I quoted that in my response. That is not something that has been corroborated by the sources you listed.

The best part was that you wanted to act pompous and obnoxious when a little bit of reading comprehension skills would've saved you the embarrassment.

I’m not doing this with them… They will believe what the want to believe. This is A&M spent 30-40 mil on 1 recruiting class all over again. Nevermind there was any evidence provided. Nevermind Jimbo refuted it several times. Nevermind STATE LAW mandates these numbers be reported and A&Ms entire football team reported something like 2 mil total… Sliced bread and his minions know better. These guys will twist and contort anything they can, even if it’s a lie and they know it’s a lie, so they can sleep better at night knowing they put A&M down with some slander on a message board.

A&M interviewed Kirby Smart in 2011 and passed on him. Just an example of the bad decisions made. There are young up and comers in the coaching ranks with fire in their bellies. They need to find one.

The Saban tree has done well more often than not. I want to take the Georgia dc because he’s young, learned from two of the best in Saban and Smart, and is hungry to build his legacy not on the way out. I’d rather suffer through the next HC having a few learning moments but still has the drive and upside than be stuck with an older coach that thinks they are too smart to learn anything new.

What type of offense do you want?

Honestly… I after watching Jedd Fisch today I absolutely love what he’s done with Arizona. I want to be able to power run from pistol formations and take shots via play action. Something A&M has not done in years is throw deep and draw the PI. I just watched LSU basically win the game using a junior high offense with 2 really good WRs and a QB that can throw a fade and run.
