No this is the year for qb hype...Neither one of the 4 top qbs coming out will have the career mark sanchez will have. The Clausen, and Growthe 'south florida" class will be the more productive NFL qbs

I beleive mack is one of the best coaches in football. For sure in the top 3 recruiting. But i must correct you on that statement. Ive already seen mack and his team be this hungry for a win and come out with a loss. 2007 loss in college station just being at least one of them. The aggies beat texas in austin in 2006 then when the horns came to college station to "show whos boss lol" they aggies won again in 07 to a much more talented texas team with colt mccoy at the reins. This years texas team is much better and i believe they are much mored poised, but dont put it beneath them to say they do not make mediocre mistakes...

i just think that people give him too much praise sometimes... Hes a great athlete and a great college football player i just havent seen anything that makes me think he is a top nfl prospect. Good qbs are hard to find and not every draft class has one in it. I dont believe this will be the year... Bradford Mccoy Tebow Snead...They were all successful in college and will probably start somewhere in their careers but i dont see the them being great. So its not just Mccoy coach lol.

Colt is in the same boat as tebow i think...The transition from the zone read to a pro offense will kill him. Just ask vince lol. I can see your list though. I believe switch snead and tebow and thats the draft order. I also think thats about how they will be in the nfl. Bradford will be the most productive...

Agreed. I meant that the simple fact we scored puts a little more hope in the kids. Maud is also about par with what waskom will see in their district foes so that helps too. They can compete with anyone in thier district its just a question of if they can compete for a whole game and if they can make the correct adjustments each week to move the ball on the other teams. And in this district 4 wins will make the playoffs. If waskom can beat West sabine, timpson, and beckville "very capable if they play well" then they just have to upset mount, tenaha, or joaquin. Its posible with their dline to seriously disrupt the misdirection offense of Joaquin so we will see. The good news is our schedule doesnt get harder from here. EF Maud and Redwater will be 3 of our 4 toughest games of the season.

There was also no way tech beats texas last season lol. I know what you mean about every game being a must win but you cant tell me that texas hasnt hyped this game more than other games. They want this one bad...and will probably get it. I just know that whenever everyone expects you to win and win BIG against a team that upset you the year before teams sometimes play with more passion than poise. DB's jumping routes too quickly, defensive players missing tackles going for kill shots, and qbs making mistakes trying to "win big" against the other team. Considering all those factors i believe this game is just closer than smoaky nation seems to think. By the way... tech has played texas close every year for the last 5 or 6 years. Even that National title team barely escaped to a tech team that was worse than this one. So dont count your eggs too fast. My prediction stands. 31-24 texas... :banghead:

Only time will tell coach lol. I agree that tebows accuracy is better than most think but i also see the plays he runs and its like watching a high school teams trick playbook lol. They are filled with routes and plays that allow guys like tebow to play and guys like harvin to use his speed. it will be much different in the nfl

Colt is a much different player. The kid has some amazing feet, but he looks for his wideouts first. Colt reminds me of a Tony Romo without the 4th quater picks! I can see this guy playing very well in the pros! Having said that here is my list of the QBs coming out pretty soon.. Colt Tebow Bradford Clausen Mallet Snead :thumbsup: Colt Tebow...System guys. Tebow will be a fullback after his first 2 seasons in the nfl. lol I agree with your amazing feet statement but thats when you start in the shotgun. its totally different seeing the rush and watching your receivers downfield when you have to take it from center and make a 5-7 step drop. And Colt has NEVER played in a offense where he has to do that. He will be a solid backup in the nfl and after maybe 5-6 years of working in the system he MAY be able to adjust. look for Mallet and Clausen to be the two guys... They wont get drafted as high but will be the next generation of brady and manning

Just give him time. Not everyone can be a success fight off the bat. Look at rivers. And also he went to a bad browns team. Tom brady couldnt even make that team good.

WOW texas is treating this like the superbowl... When teams over hype bad things can sometimes happen... But i dont think it does this season. Texas but not by as many as you would think. The high levels of excitement lead to a few costly turnovers... texas 31 tech- 24.

I can definatly see mallet... the kid is the next peyton manning if he can crasp the nfl concepts. No one will match his size and arm strength.

Waskoms offense got lots of confidence in the maud game... I hope its enough. But in my personal opinion, PUT A VEER PLAY IN YOUR WING T SET!!! The wildcats have teams absolutly loading up on the dive and that is why they have two shutouts. When you have no passing game and only one RB who is capable of playing between the tackles you have to get some space for your speed guys to run. Waskom is more athletic than almost every team they will play but they need to get the ball to the athletes in space and let them use their speed. Dont try to get a scat back to play like a fullback. In short if waskom can ever get a team to honor their speed and spread out the defense to give waskoms big boy some space they will be very dangerous. But until then teams will continue to send the house with the run blitz and continue to hold your bread and butter in check. Changes made... Waskom 16 redwater 13 Left alone... Waskom 6 Redwater 28. Throw winning percentage and yardage in college out the window... I believe that when it comes down to it Clausen is the best qb NFL caliber qb coming out in the next two seasons. Yes that includes bradford and colt. I dont have anything to justify my prediction but his coaching and style of play. He plays in a pro style offense and depsite charlies record at Notre Dame Charlie is going to have him prepared for the NFL. Colt is the best qb in college football IMO but thats just it. COLLEGE... The zone read produces just as many system qbs as tech. Vince Young amd Colt will not be at the elite qb level in the nfl because they were products of the zone read system in both high school and college. They have never played in a pro style offense and it will turn out to be their downfall. I know this will bring me tons of feedback. lol smoaky nation is just too quiet.

Never thought id see the day when waskoms defense is solid but they cannot score... Waskom has always been a offensive minded team. Even though the defense was very good when Finney was here in 05 waskom had two 1500 yard rushers... So Offense hasnt been the problem. Until these boys learn to put points on the board they can play defense all they want but never win a game. I am a defensive type guy but everyone knows the best defense is an effective offense...

After talking to some of the players i believe nerves got had the cats jelly legged all night against ef. I believe this week the wildcats defense will play better throughout the entire game but if the offense doesnt pick it up it will not matter too much. I dont believe the game will be that bad but until the offense turns it around i just cannot pick the wildcats to win this one. The offense is way too predictable. EF just simply run blitz nearly every play because waskom has no passing game. That stopped the waskom run and also served as a all out blitz for pass plays. waskom never has any time to do much of anything run or pass. I do not believe the scheme Waskom has going right now will get them very far in district. If it fails to work this week i believe a total transformation is needed. I know its risky in mid season but if the cats dont put up at least 14 this week i believe it must happen. Better to change and have a chance then maintain the old and get the same results. Maud comes off a bye after a tough loss. Waskom comes off a hammering friday night. Which team comes out and begins the turn around... i believe waskoms defense keeps them in the game but need to find some sort of offense to even make this close. I hope the wildcats can figure it out soon. Their defense is too good to have a bad season because they cant score. If the offense could stay on the field more the defense would play much better then they already are. The 41 points ef put up is not what waskoms defense is capable of. They held ef much of the first and second quarter until coming out very flat and tired in the third. Maud also runs the spread so hopefully waskom learned from there mistakes in the ef game

I was inpressed with this game as well. I thought the ags would be about a two touchdown favorite with the score coming out to be something like 42-28. The aggies defense seems to have made some excellent adjustments over the offseason. We all knew the offense would move the ball but the running game looked better then expected and the ags may have the next big star rb in the big 12 with Michael...Assuming Johnson is still around next season and fuller stays another year look for the ags to have a dominant offense in 2010. Possibly the best in the big 12 if the oline continues to get better and gray continues to play well. All in all very nice start for sherman in his second season.

I know its only Nevada but ND looks very solid... If they can pull off a upset vs USC could we really see ole Lou look like a genius. Nevada is one of the better teams on ND's schedule...

I am not a band wagon guy... Believe me ill still be at every waskom game. I still believe they are playoff material. I believed the end of the winona game we saw the flashes of not being excited at the end of the game. Waskom gave up a the second td because of loss of hope with just a minute or two left. These coaches are on the right track i will say that... Whenever conditioning and excitement are your problems its good because those are two easy things to fix.

My comments were not to throw the coaches to the wolves... I firmly believe in this staff and despite the results of the first two games i believe we will see waskom in the playoffs this season. I just simply made the statement that i would like too see the team in better shape and a little more excitement from the coaching staff. That is not being harsh on them by any means, just stating what i believe could help this team.

It took me until saturday morning to process this game... What i saw completly shocked me and i will eat all the crow smoaky nation will give me. I saw a flat waskom team get beat by a fired up ef team. i saw a waskom defense play very solid for about a quater and a half. I saw a ef defense that was fast and ready to play. BUT THE TWO MOST IMPORTANT FACTORS... Waskom is in the WORST conditioning shape ive seen them in years. They hae always had small numbers but this season they have 40 something players. MAny players only play one way so no reason to be that gased all game. Secondly i saw them come out so flat in the third quater i think the jv squad could have played better. And i blame some of that on coaching not getting them fired up. Thats why this game was 41-0 and not maybe 28-0. Waskoms defense could play with ef when they wanted to... They gave up 3 tds in the first 5 min of the 3rd quarter that if they werent so flat might not have happened. All in all i agree with Eyes of east texas... This game does not impact their future and they have the potential to be a solid contender in their district. But its gonna take extreme conditioning changes at practice and a revamped offensive playbook. Most importantly the coaching staff will have to be more fired up. The ef coaches were and look at the passsion their boys had... Congrats ef and after playing yall grove harleton and winona i believe yall should not have a problem getting into the playoffs.

Waskom played very well. First time thier jv as beat EF in many years. Congrats Freshman! Waskoms defense played :hmm:excellent. I believe this game could be very close to what happens tomorrow... :hmm:
