Three 100 meter races this year are the only ones he has ever competed in. Certainly has not been pushed at all. Last year he ran in the relays and did run a 22.1 200 meter time as a freshman. Would have been interesting to see what he could have done in the 200 this year.

In my opinion, AG is the strong favorite to win the district title again this year. W is good - but very young, playing 5 freshmen regularly. I don't think W can handle the pressure AG will bring. Having said that, I look for both teams to make a strong run to return to the regional level again this year.

On the girls side, I believe AG is the solid favorite. W is good - but is playing 6 freshman a lot and shows inconsistency against the pressure type defense AG will bring. Don't know about Winona - but they are likely the third best team. Spot number four is wide open. Edgewood is way down this year - not even fielding a JV team. W beat them 71-29 tonite. On the boys side - W will likely not be a factor. Winless at this point.

Winnsboro repeatedly broke Edgewood press for easy layups. Took a two point lead into halftime and lead the entire second half.

Winnsboro ALWAYS plays a 2-3 match up zone. No adjustments --- just started making shots they were missing in the first half + pressure = turnovers + 5 3-pointers.

Having watched the Lady Raiders play the majority of their games over the past 20 years, They NEVER "press" in the second half when the game in not in question. What they do is apply a extended match up zone in the half court - no bad habits from falling back into a packed-in zone when you are going for the hardware in March.

Unless he has pleaded his case well to the coaching staff, #1 will not play any more this year ...
